I had a passport appointment at a scheduled time 2:15. I walk in 15 min earlier. I check in and start filling everything out. I was missing the ss#, I ask my husband to go home and get it. Mind you we live 5 min away. We get called to the front at 2:20 and I let them know my situation. The Asian lady who helped us and is always rude with customers immediately said, "no we cannot help you" I let her know my husband is on his way back and right away she said, "no we cannot help you reschedule." Ok yes I know forgetting my son's social is my fault. I get there 15 min earlier, you don't help me, call me 5 min after my scheduled appt and then say you can't help me because according to your supervisor 'you should've been halfway done with the application already.' How is that my fault?! Awful customer service.

Two employees, one man and one woman The person renewing was talking to the woman and the man idle. I started to go to the counter when the MAN gave me a dirty look. So I went back. Then the man starts helping the young lady getting her passport. I went up to the woman employee. I told her I was renewing my passport so she started giving me application and answering my questions. When I got to the part of photos I told employee I wanted to take the photo there and then I would go to my post office in Dos Palos CA to mail my renewel. This is when the man interrupted us and pretty much told me off. In a very sarcastic voice gold me. YOU CAN DO IT ALL AT THE DOS PALOS POST OFFICE AND GET YOUR PICTURE DONE AT Walgreens OR ANY OTHER STORE. I REPLIED THAT I DID NOT WANT TO DO THAT. HE SAID "THEN YOU DONT WANT A PASSPORT". I was stunned. First because he was listening to our conversation instead of listening and helping his client, and second, I am 92 years old and I have never been talked to like this by a public servant, not even the DMV,or any body else for that matter. The service here is TERRIBLE! They refuse to deliver mail to the east side of town, instead…read moreforcing residents to get PO boxes. Why? My parents, who live on the west side of town, have mail delivered to the house. WHY do I have to go to the post office to get my mail? If that wasn't bad enough, they refuse to give you packages. If your tracking number says your package has been delivered to the post office (remember, you don't have a choice!), good luck getting it. You have to wait for THEM to tell you you can pick up your package, regardless of when it actually arrived. Paid all that extra money for overnight or two day shipping? Be warned: it's wasted money because of how these people handle mail. The service here creates a huge problem when buying things online especially, because you don't always know how a vendor will ship your item. You are forced to put the PO Box for every purchase, because if the vendor ships USPS and you put your street address, you're screwed. This post office will send your package back. Most post offices will at least cross reference addresses and hold your package for you. Gonzales? What a joke. They don't even tell you you received a package. They indiscriminately return to sender. And if your package is delivered on a Friday? Too bad! You won't see your package until Monday because they're too lazy to go get it for you, claiming they're "sorting" it, even if you have the tracking as proof that it was delivered hours ago. This is inexcusable. I shouldn't be forced to use a PO box. I should have mail delivered to my house. I shouldn't have to WAIT for my packages, sometimes for DAYS because the people here refuse to give it to me, even when I have proof it's arrived. This is ABSURD. I would leave zero stars if I could.

He approached me with a package for someone in my home. He told me that the package had just come in and he wanted to get it to us. Your staff all went home and you drove all the way to our house to deliver this package after hours. Whoa! Who does something this awesome in this day and age? We rarely see this level of service anywhere... I asked him his name and he said it is Lamson. Lamson is the postmaster of the San Martin Post Office and this guy deserves to be recognized not only for his high standard of care for people in the community, but his dedication to his job and his high bar of excellence.I thanked him sincerely just blown away that he did this I was so blown away that I went to the Post Office the next day to thank him again and I also feel the necessity to recognize him publicly for who he is to our community. Please remember to thank this person when you stop in the San Martin Post Office. People in his position are always hearing complaints and are dealing with angry customers... especially at the Post Office. This post office has enormous and unusual challenges with the road conditions and road closures on Highway 1. Somehow, Andrew has managed to "get the job done" -- often going so much out of his way to serve the travelling public and the residents of Big Sur. On June 6, 2025, I mailed, outgoing, nine envelopes (bills). When I handed these envelopes to Andy, I asked him when mail will leave the post office. He replied, mail is picked up by 4:00 p.m. Then I asked him again when I returned to make sure they were to go out. He was so assuring that these mailing would go out at 4 p.m. To my surprise, one of the mailings addressed to The Villages, Florida arrived and was posted Monday, June 9th. This means it arrived to the addressee on Monday and yes, was processed the same day. My point is, this mailing addressed to Florida, 3,000 miles, over a weekend and how quickly it was received. I want to commend Andy for being so patient with my concern and providing great customer service. Andy, has a wonderful personality and I ask that he be commended for his professional service. Andy, represents the U.S. Post Office with exceptional customer service and willing to provide one assurance of ones mail being in good hands.
