Very friendly staff, usually in and out quickly, just wish they opened a little earlier.

Horrible experience every time I go into this location. Staff are always rude except for the older gentleman who I always see doing passport appointments. Long lines and short staffed. I had a passport appointment at a scheduled time 2:15. I walk in 15 min earlier. I check in and start filling everything out. I was missing the ss#, I ask my husband to go home and get it. Mind you we live 5 min away. We get called to the front at 2:20 and I let them know my situation. The Asian lady who helped us and is always rude with customers immediately said, "no we cannot help you" I let her know my husband is on his way back and right away she said, "no we cannot help you reschedule." Ok yes I know forgetting my son's social is my fault. I get there 15 min earlier, you don't help me, call me 5 min after my scheduled appt and then say you can't help me because according to your supervisor 'you should've been halfway done with the application already.' How is that my fault?! Awful customer service. read more

Been calling since April 2026 and called (3) times and spoke with both Monique and Geri about removing graffiti on our (3) community mailboxes and was assured every time it would be removed with always a excuse every time why it hasn't been addressed. I will be calling a 4th time today asking for the Post Master to file a formal complaint. Now I know why Hollister post office has only 2 stars. read more

The worst customer service ever. The employees are all rude, snappy, and just miserably unhappy people. They try and make you feel dumb for asking questions like the normal public should know all of the correct USPS rules. I will literally drive out of town to go to a different post office if I have the time because I hate dealing with them read more

Sad to say our post office service, is getting worse! Maybe a change of new management is needed. Even after contacting the Post Master, the same or worse is happening. What else can be said without getting personal! read more

Monique should not be in a public facing role, especially as a supervisor. She comes across as completely unfit for the position. It feels like her role is based on seniority rather than any real skill or training. She lacks basic professionalism and has no ability to handle questions or interact with people appropriately. With such a consistently negative and hostile attitude, she would be better suited for a position in the private sector that does not involve dealing with the public. read more

So today is Saturday June 20, 2026 and it's 6:30 pm and we still don't have our mail. I know yesterday was a holiday but I can't understand why it takes so long to deliver the mail? And I won't be surprised if we don't even get anything today. Some days the mail is here by 3:00 pm and then other days like today we'll be lucky to even get it! read more

Went in without an appointment to update my drivers license. Took under 10 minutes! Everyone was super nice. What a great experience.

LOL based on these reviews I can see I'm not the only one who's had to deal with that rude lady. Trying to get my new mailbox keys for my new home and the lady goes off on me when I didn't provide the correct document I told her straight up you need to chill, are you good? Having a bad day? Man I hope it's almost retirement time. Mean troll looking lady. read more

The most horrible service on a P.O. Box for a business. Constantly sending our mail back that is address to our business name for our P.O. Box. Have complain spoke to the Hollister Manager multiple times and it occurs again and again...looking for alternate secure method for our business mail since our Federal funded Post Office is a total failure. read more

I have lived in Hollister for 23 years. And for 23 years the same three ladies have worked there. They have the same attitude they had 23 years ago. They are total bitches.! if you don't like your job quit ! instead of treating people like shit ! I waited over 30 minutes to mail a letter. She closes the window. I ask a question I get attitude I feel I waited plenty long for them to do their fucking job.!! I left. I will use services elsewhere fuck that place.!!!!!' read more

If you have the choice to use the machine just do it so you don't deal with rude employees. I wish those 3 old ladies ( esp Amy) will retire soon and the Lady Manager but not sure if she is a Manager she is the Queen of rudeness and prejudice. What a beautiful Post Office filled with rude Clerks!!! read more

After reading all these negative reviews, I was afraid to go there but I did. I dropped off a package at 0930. No line. I was greeted in a friendly manner by an older woman. She thanked me when I left. I couldn't see a name tag. read more

Despite staffing struggles this USPS strives to do its best to serve customers. As the population of Hollister balloons so does the line at the post office. Luckily the people at the counter do their very best to help you. If you are there to just drop off a package with a prepaid label you can either drop it off at the right most counter, drop it off on the drop box on the inside of the building or there are some drop boxes outside. There's also a machine you can buy labels from and scan QR codes to print labels. I've purchased postage before but unfortunately scanning barcodes to print labels doesn't seem to work. read more

Just moved to Hollister from San Jose, and decided to write this review after getting tired of always leaving this post office in a bad mood due to being constantly treated very rudely by Mary. Like if you're really that unhappy to deal with people, maybe get a job that isn't all counter? Food for thought. Luckily I still work close enough to my old post office downtown San Jose to go back to somewhere where they treat you like a human being. That woman is a loose cannon. Stopped taking customers during a full line, telling us to wait until called upon, while she writes in her personal calendar. Then she is rude to another woman just trying to ask for some information. Knowing everything about your job doesn't make you smart, she is just plain rude every single visit and there is no excuse for taking that kinda attitude into a place of business. Did I mention the LOONG lines! Shorter wait times at my old post office downtown San Jose! read more

Unhelpful and rude. I left without sending my package and will go to UPS or somewhere else.

The older woman who works at the front counter is so rude. This is my second interaction with her and both times she has been completely unhelpful and patronizing. The first time she "helped" me she got incredibly irritated that I wanted to double check the address on her screen with the address I had been given. This time, I had a QR code to ship a package, which should have been an incredibly simple transaction, but she claimed that something on her screen didn't match up with the label even though I assured her that the label she printed was the exact same label the company had sent me and that I had shipped a return to the same company before with the same label and no issues. She refused to ship my package. read more

We had a passport appointment for our baby on 12/28/22. The gentleman that does the passport was professional and helpful even though we were a little unprepared (application not completed, then when complete we had mistakes). There was also a female employee that took our babies picture. She was so friendly and helpful, I wish I had gotten her name. The appointment took a while but it was worth it. Staff was friendly, patient, and helpful! read more

Terrible customer service. Only one member of the staff seemed to be treating customers with courtesy. Everyone else had very thick and hard to understand accents, or were completely rude and unreasonable. I actually went through the process of contacting USPS customer service to report someone AND THEN left and paid UPS to ship my package instead. read more

US Post Office - Even the Salvation Army guy is making this an uncomfortable experience... - Post Offices Near Me - Hollister, California

This Post Office has greatly improved over the years. The employees are helpful, patient and friendly. They take care of people as quickly as possible--some people take longer because they have lots of mail or are not really prepared to mail their packages, and the employees have to walk them through getting the proper envelopes, boxes, etc. The self-mailing machines are helpful. read more

Horrible service! They always have an attitude for no reason. My package was supposed to arrive 3 days ago so I decided to call the PO and of course they immediately hang up the phone. I called a total of 10+ and not one time did it ring more than 3 times before they hung up. Unbelievable! read more

If I could give this post office a negative I would. I've shipped over 30 boxes in the past year and a half, overseas to my brother in law who is in the military. I've tried to be as efficient as possible by filling out my paper work ahead of time and making sure I'm organized, but every time I get scolded by the workers and their is never any consistency in the information that they tell me, I send my boxes to an APO address so it's a slightly different filling out the paperwork for it. Aside from that the wait time is ridiculous I often spend up to an hour, it's discouraging that I have such a horrible experience every time I go just trying to send over a care package. I'm so discouraged that at this point I'm willing to drive to a different post office 20 minutes away for town to see if I get treated better. Or pay more for better service at Postal graphics... read more

Javier has the MOST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! First, the post office claims they attemp to deliver my package, which was a lie. Then, I get to the post office to see if they had my package. They said they scanned it but can't find it. Javier then days he will call me that night once the carrier gets back to ask him about my package. I GOT NO PHONE CALL! So I decided to come into the post office the next day to hunt down my own package. I again speak to Javier whom seems very disturbed that I am there asking once again about my package and the phone call I never received. He then says yea it's lost. I said I need stating your guys lost it he then says yea well get that for you tomorrow. i told him I needed it today and that they have caused me enough headache. he said well I'm not going to do that. i said why not he said I have other things to do.,,wow! Then I said im a customer who needs your help aren't you suppose to help? he said yea but I'm not going to do that. I said so it's not important he said no. So now I'm supposed to trust his word that I'll get a lost letter about my package after he lied about a phone call. I asked to speak to his manager and he never got her. Then he says we'll still look into this I then said wait a minute you just said I'll get a letter from you now I can't expect a letter bec your still looking for it?? He said yea. I said so you lied again he said I'm not going to argue. wow! He is the worst of the worst Customer service ever! My goodness what a loser! Don't trust his words if you get helped bu him HORRIBLE !!! read more

I'm with Daniel on his review. Carrier broke our box. No one answers. Will not bring our mail to the door until the box can get fixed....... Encourage you to file complaint online with USPS read more

Slow...rude...We were called to get a package. Upon arrival we were looked at like we were idiots. They never even attempted to deliver the package. The lady remarked..."you were called because the package has been here for days." Not true....just sad. Package had arrived the same day we received a call. Put a smile on your face and be respectful.. don't think that should be too hard. read more

The actual post office I would give 5 stars. I am giving 1 star for the mail delivery people. My packages are constantly delivered to the wrong house. I am completely fed up. I am forced to get a PO box. read more

I made an appointment for a passport for myself and my daughter. I guess that for name change they just renew mine and update my name. For kids they need to mail it out separately. I had an appointment for a half hour, 15 minutes per person. We got there a little bit early. There were no lines at all. The lady was very friendly and helpful. She processed everything and even saved me a little bit of money. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes! read more

The staff is nice, however, we always get mail that is not ours and not our address. They don't have hardly any stamps. They gave me someone else's package w my mail as well. read more

Extremely slow and unorganized waited 30 mins for you to service 9 people while everyone package there mail and wrote addresses at the counter got my address wrong was instructed get out of line redo and wait again no thank you last time I use your shitty service can we say discrimination why wasn't I allowed to fix package at the counter like the rest the 9 people packing there packages on site read more

Every single time I come here the people are so rude and treat you like you're stupid. Today's experience was with Jeanne, Who walked up to the counter rolling her eyes as if she hates dealing with people and hates her job. There's another older woman who works here whose name I cannot remember who treats people the same way... I'm sure they would be happy if everybody went to another post office to do their business since they obviously hate interacting with other humans. read more

What a wonderful post office!!! The postal workers there are sooo nice and helpful!!! The postman who delivers our mail is also very dependable! read more

Long lines!!! Every time I come in there's long line and so much wait time. Very annoying

I have been home all day waiting for a time sensitive package. I went online to track the package and it said there had been an attempted delivery today when there was not. read more

Unfortunately, I must agree with many of the negative comments here. The mail delivery is definitely an issue. Neighbors bringing me my mail and vice versa. The attitudes from workers stem from plain ignorance in my opinion. They're defensive as a result read more

There not really in a rush here. The line moves slow. Only one person is friendly the others are just waiting till quiting time.

I just moved to Hollister from San Jose and the few times I've been to this post office, I've been treated kindly and have been given very helpful information. Even the customers are nice here. I don't know why the bad ratings. In San Jose, post offices are ALWAYS PACKED, the people behind the counter are always stressed with an attitude that just wanna get you out the door quickly. Times I've been here there wasn't more than 2 or 3 people in line and the lines go much faster. read more

It's true. Be prepared to stand in line for awhile and make sure you have your T's crossed and your I's dotted. This place plays by the book. Tape is a serious issue when closing a shipping box. I know because I witnessed it while standing in line. Most of the staff is ok, but I wouldn't consider them the nicest group of people. Not sure why but they seem to come across as a bit power hungry here. read more

I'm a perpetual optimist and I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However, every time I go into the post office, I receive the absolute worst service. All the clerks are incredibly rude and talk to me as though I am an idiot and inconvenience. Having worked service jobs in the past, I understand how frustrating and demeaning working with the public can be. But it is no excuse to be blatantly rude, especially to pleasant customers. If I had experienced a single incident, I would have brushed it off but literally every time I visit the post office, I am greeted with HORRIBLE attitudes and service. read more

Update: I went into the post office as I am a regular and an Ebay Powerseller.I was served by the same person and she had remembered me.Not only did she refund me the difference from the prior visit but she also asked me if my daughter was doing well and I was polite to answer. As she handled my order this time correctly with a smile.Thank you for proving me wrong USPS.This means alot to me and plenty of other people.. :) I came in with my baby daughter and there was this older Hispanic lady wearing glasses.Of all the times I've gone there with everyone being courteous and helpful. This person kept making remarks about my baby making noises all day and charged me extra for tracking when I said "lets leave it first class".This was the worst service I've had.be weary of the short hispanic lady with glasses, disrespectful, hostile, and makes uncalled for remarks. USPS may be the most affordable but this lady's attitude is the worst. She's got issues and USPS should tell her to keep it at home.terrible service and downright rude. read more

Terrible service, rude employees. Almost as bad as the DMV. It's obvious they hate their jobs. Hate going in there.
