I've never had an issue at this post office and the employees are always friendly. I had to ship out a several large flat rate boxes once and the boxes are free and the shipping fee isn't bad at all considering the weight. The business owner is beyond unprofessional not only is he over priced but after I made one comment about how much it would it was and that o well I it's not worth my time to save a Few bucks by going across the street to USPS where the line is out the door... I rarely write reviews but this time I have to write it At April 29th I went to this location to send document to overseas I was thinking let's support us economy and instead of using DHL services go with USPS The lady at the USPS office told me it would be deliver between 3 to 5 days and I paid 80$ and left the office. Today is May 16th after 17 days checking my tracking number and still showing in transit Such a terrible services I called their 800 number 3 times and open case with them and they are blaming on each other ( blaming on lady at the branch to shipped it wrong or etc ...) Pleas don't use their junk services and stay away from them. read more

I was so happy when we moved into this little area back in 2011. It has a small town community feel, and lots of local businesses that are friendly and know us by name. One of the biggest surprises was the tiny little United States Post Office that is just down the street from my house. It's literally smaller than my bedroom in the waiting area, but there's never any very long lines like there used to be at the bigger facilities. In fact, I thought it was only a P.O. Box location until one day, when I walked in to see whether they at least had one of those self service kiosks. They don't need one...because they've always got the best workers staffed there. Most of the time, people dread going to the USPS, because the lines and wait times can rival the DMV in their endless boredom. The employees are usually never smiling, and it's frankly grown a little depressing to visit the Post Office. The one in our neighborhood is far from boring...the staff are friendly and courteous...they're not grumpy, and they don't try to sell you services you don't need or want...or try and force you to purchase the newest version of "Forever" stamps. They'll ask you if you need stamps...because - it's the Post Office - but they don't get bent out of shape if you don't take them up on the offer. I've been to some that seem offended you don't want "state flowers of the midwestern states" or the "insert super patriotic symbol du jour here 'MERICA!" series. They get it. Most of the time, if someone needs stamps...they'll let you know. ;) In all seriousness though, this Post Office is one of the many charming things about this little neighborhood tucked away in the valley behind the Back Gate of Camp Pendleton. And when you're done, you can take a walk across the street and grab some ice cream...because there's a really awesome little shop there. If you find that the Post Office is really busy, there's a little locally owned U Post shipping place that will take your items for just a little bit more than the Post Office will charge. Most of the time though, you'll be fine - I've never waited longer than ten minutes or so there. It's really laid back, and the staff are clearly loving their job and their customers! I hope we live here for years to come. Between the community feel and the small town type amenities, I think it's about as close to a real community as it gets here in Oceanside! Apparently they tried to close this little place down a few years back. Several local ship owners and community members came to the fore and said they didn't want to lose the little post office. The man that's working here, probably in his 60s, is creepy to young women. Every time Ive been there and there happens to be a young woman, he would flirt with them and compliment them about their looks. I could tell they feel uncomfortable but are too scared to speak up. I want to start off by saying I been coming to this post office for sometime now, most of my visits I have been assisted by Steve and the young lady they awesome so helpful great customer service, Unfortunately there is a lady that works at this location by the name of Ramona and has the worst customer service/attitude it's sad to see a great store and great staff mixed in with one employee that truly hates her job always has a attitude. As a manager myself all staff should work at as team and give out awesome customer service, I've stood in line several times and seen customers have bad experiences with Ramona so I always manage to not have her assist me at the counter II've even allowed people to go ahead of me in line just to not experience the horrible customer service that she provides. read more

I visited this office to send documents via priority mail express and the gentleman I dealt with had a condescending attitude. He demonstrated the same attitude to the woman before me. He is Asian with salt/pepper hair and glasses. So, I didn't have the correct label and when he gave me the correct one he treated me like I was stupid in front of the other customers. I didn't appreciate being humiliated by someone who obviously shouldn't be working with customers. I ended up going to the office on Seagaze Drive where the staff are very professional and helpful. read more

Steve is rude, sarcastic, and doesn't know how to do his job. I come in to mail in my husband's passport renewal and he tells me I have the wrong form without even listening to what I have to say. I come home to find it was the right one and I could have sent it out there and then. If you hare your job so much Steve maybe you shouldn't work there! Don't go here! I am not usually one to come forward and complain about anyone unless absolutely necessary. I usually just chalk things up to "they must be having a bad day" and then I move on with my life....but this time I just can't keep quiet. I had the ultimate displeasure of dealing with a man by the name of Steve. Im not completely sure that that is his name because I was in such disbelief at the way I was being treated by him that I could hardly focus. I barely glanced at the name tag. He has salt and pepper colored hair and wears glasses. I came in to get a money order. He was the only one working the front but was not the only one there. A short blonde woman was there as well. I had herd from someone else that she is this mans superior. She herd the way he was treating me and did not step up as his superior. That's so wrong! Neither of them are fit to be in customer service! Anyway, The line was SO long. I finally made my way over to this "Steve character" and asked him how he was doing today, he quickly said FINE and you. I said great, thank you for asking. I then proceeded to ask him for a money order but i wasn't sure how much they cost because I usually go to my bank (prices for money orders are not posted for customers to see at this usps location). I couldn't determine what the amount of the money order was going to be until I knew how much the money order would cost me. He gave me two separate prices for money orders. I told him the amount I'd like to put in. He didn't explain which price applied to me after that. So I told him the amount would be $843 for the money order itself but that if I didn't have enough for the money order price that I would have to make the amount less so that I could afford it. This man proceeded to raise his voice at me saying "im not going to do your math for you!". I asked him again, which price applies to me? He started yelling at me again in front of everyone. Also, I wasn't sure if he had herd me when I said I'd be paying with cash and card....and when I tried to explain that to him.... He said very loudly to me...."WHAT IS THE EXACT AMOUNT THAT YOU WISH TO PUT IN A MONEY ORDER!" I was so confused because I had just told him the amount. At that point I had told him that he was being extremely rude and to stop raising his voice at me. He didn't say a word back to me after that. Then I asked him if there was a manager. He said no there isn't one! And I said so you have no manager? He said NO! I said, so the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE does not have a manager for you anywhere? He says, we have a main office but didn't tell me where. It's ok, I know where now. I told him that I didn't ask him at any point to do math for me. I just wanted to be sure which one of the two prices he gave me for money orders applied to me, so that I could make sure I have the right amount. He wouldn't listen. She proceeded to say in a really snotty tone, "Yea, whatever you say". He then says, "have a great day" with so much attitude. Now, I think that there is NO excuse for another person to treat someone like this. There was a line of people who witnessed his behavior. I hope that at least some of them come forward about how this "Steve character" treats customers. So uncalled for. If he was nicer to anyone after I had left (it's BS), maybe he decided to check his attitude after the episode he just had with me. What should have been a simple transaction turned into a nightmare! I don't care who has had a pleasant experience with him. He was NOT a pleasant decent person to me in MY experience. He should be fired! read more

This location has been partially shut down because of a flood. But there is one lady who has been there through this time period and is beyond helpful, patient, and kind. I have witnessed people getting grumpy with her multiple times because of the inconvenience and it doesn't even phase her. She deserves a huge shout out and a raise!!! read more

I decided to give this post office a try and I'm never coming back. The lady that was "helping" had an attitude when she didn't need to. I was sending a package overseas to Japan and she told me it needed to be addressed. Which I understand, but as I stated to her the other post office where I usually go they always make me get in line and give me the special form to be filled out. I told her I've never been to this post office I don't know where your forms are and she said they're up against the wall you have to get back in line and fill it out. it took me 30 seconds to fill out the paper obviously so she just made me wait in line for nothing then I got back in line got her again and she told me you didn't address it. I told her I filled out the form you asked me to, she said that's fine but you also need to address the box. I don't work at the post office so I don't know all the little details of sending a package sorry if I don't know exactly what to do that's your job and that's why I'm here asking for service. She could have just told me please fill out this form and label the box it would have taken a minute max. My box was not taped because the other post office where I go they've never said it must be taped they always tape it for me. So I said to her well can you just tape it please and she said no that is a liability because you might say that something fell out. I told her, well I trust that you know how to tape a box and I know that nothing will fall out you can go ahead and tape it please. She said oh we are not allowed to do that. I've never been to a post office where they have not done that for me I've actually never taped the box and no one at any post office has ever told me they can't do that for me. This was not a massive box very small box with one candle in it for crying out loud. So again, there should not be an issue with helping me I just needed the form to be filled out to be sent overseas and apparently I needed to label the box in the addition which I didn't know because I don't work here and then I just needed to tape the box. Why does that have to turn into some big obstacle lady. This was an older lady with bleached blond hair by the way and I hate to judge but when I was in line I saw her and I was hoping I did not have to deal with her because I could already tell she was not going to provide stellar customer service. It just irritates me when people go out of their way to provide horrible customer service when it's so easy to be helpful. read more

The two ladies are very helpful. The one thing I'd change is their lunch times. One is always on lunch around 4:30 when everyone is getting off work and trying to handle business at the post office. So, there's usually a decent sized line around that time due to only one being at the front. I'd avoid going anytime after 4pm. A 20-30 min wait is not uncommon around that time. Otherwise, it's not a bad place to handle USPS matters. read more

I always like to track my packages and when it says that it has arrived in my city or is "delivered." I take it very seriously... I went to check my mail to see if it was in there but I didnt see my package, so to clear the smoke I decided to drive to the postal office and see what the heck was up!?! I told the lady my tracking number and the first time she went to the back to check she questioned me whether I was sure the package had even arrive at their office..? I was growing a little impatient so I showed her the email and she decided to double check the tracking number she wrote down...well, she definitely messed up on two numbers and she went in the back again to go find the package. I waited another 15minuets and when she came back, she told me that the driver would be back soon and for me to come back so they could talk to him. As soon as I got home, someone knocked on my door and long behold its the freakinnnn mail man with my package!?!?! He was apologetic and said that my package was mixed with the old peoples mail (pills/vitamins) so he pulled it out as soon as he got the call about my mishap at the office. Overall, I wish there was an easy button for packages...why would you pay for rush delivery when I spent most of my time driving around tracking it!?! read more

I want to start off by saying how nice the young woman working at the front desk was. Steve on the other hand was the complete opposite. While he wasn't outright rude, he was demeaning. My husband and I went in to send out our forms for our passports. We had already packaged it up, we just needed stamps. She went to ask Steve if we needed to do something special for it to be expedited. In my form, it simply said to write expedited on the outside of the envelope. First he told me I would have to pay to send it priority. which costs $23. Since my husband and I used different forms, we would have to send them separately. So it brought our total to almost $50. Ok thats fine, we just had to fill out the label forms and we would put them in the new envelopes. Easy right? Apparently not. Steve proceeded to go through all of my husband's paperwork and ask him a bunch of questions. My husband's old passport was a replacement for a stolen passport. So it was only valid for 2 years. We don't know why, we just know thats when it expired. He asked my husband a bunch of questions about it. He examined the passport and asked my husband to confirm his date and birth. While he was doing this the poor girl working the other register was left to tackle a long line alone. He continued to rifle through our paperwork and ask if we were sure we were paying the correct amount. We paid exactly what the website told us after we completed our forms. We had also called the phone number to confirm before writing the checks. He asked if we were sure used the correct forms. I told him these were the forms the website gave us after we completed a questionnaire so yes I am sure. I watched as he stapled my husband's picture to the form. 4 staples, one in each corner vertical against the edges of the paper. I began to organize my forms exactly as he had my husbands so it would be easier for him. I was already annoyed. I don't know if it was because we are young or it he just thought we were stupid, but he spent the entire time demeaning my husband and I. I reached for the stapler on the counter in front of me. He the proceeded to grab it out of my hand and ask what I was doing. I told him I was going to staple my picture to my form. He asked if I knew how to do it. I respond calmly, I just watched you do it. He took it from me and said "You better not do it. You haven't been trained. Ill do it." I hadn't been trained ON HOW TO USE A STAPLER! Ridiculous. My husband could tell I was getting pretty angry at this point. He asked me about my fees. He asked where the extra $10 came from. I told him $110 for the passport, $60 to expedite, that makes $170. He said oh, ok. and began to look at my passport. Multiple times, he asked when my passport expired. I had already explained to him it wasn't expired, I just needed a name change and that the correct documentation was in there. He asked again "Are you doing a name change?" I responded calm but short "Yes my marriage license is right there". In the end he printed our labels we paid our $47 for the two priority mail labels. Turns out we had done everything correctly. Apparently we can actually follow simple online instructions. If I thought they were too complicated I would've just made an appointment at a passport center. I left 20 minutes later extremely angry. I will always drive out of my way to go to a different post office now. read more

this is the worst place ever. every time we go, there's something wrong. not only does this place take forever w rude employees, the usps delivery we have for our route is lazy as hell. i ship things out quite often and when i request pick up, everyone picks up except her! she also doesn't drop off packages, she has our front office call us personally to tell us to go get it or pick it up at the office which is such a damn hassle. when it's the guy on our route, he picks up and delivers like normal but the lady, LAZY AS HELL. go to the usps store in avenida de la plata instead. they're extremely helpful unlike this store. i had a few packages missing and when i ask, she says "i don't remember, i deliver a lot a day" and when i file a claim online, they'll call and say "we asked her but she said she doesn't remember" and move on like nothing happened like ???! i would have to go through the merchant for a refund and it sucks! read more
