It was panic time! I was at post office needing to send a priority mail envelope out with a book in…read moreit. The self-service machine was broken and the line for the single worker at the front counter was literally, out the door! I wanted this package mailed today. I checked the Yelp App and found a place near my next stop called Mail Room and More. It is in the heart of the Karcher shopping area north of I-84. I made a bee line for the place. It sits in a small strip mall that could be easy to overlook if you were not sure of where you were going. But I made it there with time to spare. Turns out the "and More" was a coffee shop with lots of little snacks and baked goods on one side and the shipping area on the other side. The staff was so nice and even though it was few extra bucks to mail the package I didn't mind because the convenience was worth it. I then remembered that I had another shipping issue with a large, flat 3 by 4-foot mounted quilt I needed to get to Michigan. I tried to ship it via UPS the day before but was quoted over $500! I knew it would be an expensive shipment because it was oversized, but I did not think it would be over $500, I expected $150 to $200. The ladies behind the counter started looking for an option for me and came up with one for $175. Right in the ballpark! It was even Fed Ex! Those ladies packed that big flat thing right up and got it out on its way to my Cousin in great time. While I am in Nampa handling my Mom's estate I will shipping more things, and all those things are getting shipped at the Mail Room... and More!

He helped me get it emailed to the store and print it. It was in a poly bag, but awkward and the label wouldn't apply well. He grabbed a used amazon box from the ground that was left by someone and put it in real quick for the label be properly affixed, efficient, and faster to get to the next customer after me. Shannon took it upon herself to chastise Jackson in front of me saying "Where'd that box come from? Did you give him that? Jackson responded yes. Shannon said "we don't do that! And don't do that again!" As a manager, I'd keep Jackson and train Shannon if she's a trainer. Rules/policies are great, for when they support efficiency, speed, good order/discipline and ensure customer satisfaction. Jackson critically thought on his feet and maintained efficiency, speed, accomplishing the job well, and getting onto the next customer. Shannon, learn to ask other employees "why" they do what they do instead of assuming the worst from the get go, and provide correction away from the customer's face if the "why" isn't valid or justifying breaking a policy. Discipline to policy is great, but not when it's at the expense of the company or customer's.

They are polite and the last time I had a script printed, I found the sweetest note slipped into my script from one of the employees. It's rare in this world for people to take the time to do things like that and it was very much appreciated. I'm also amazed at everything else they do aside from printing. Check out what they offer and see if you can come support this business! Well done, Copies Plus!

Flipping through the book and my renewed interest in discovering more about my family tree made me want a copy of my own. Mind you this was a spiral bound book filled with many interesting facts about my family, heck I was even in the book since it was first published in 1985. Grandma recalls having this book bound before by the team at Copies Plus so we went down to place an order for yet another book to be created. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and accomodating. He looked the book over and agreed he could do it the same way. I think it took roughly all day for them to do it and we picked it up the next day. The book was exactly like the other and I couldn't wait to get home with this to discover more about my family. It now sits proudly on my coffee table and with many thanks to Copies Plus and of course Grandma!

I had to pay an extra 20 bucks to get it rushed. And never called me when it was finished. They did some extra work on my machine when I got it back that I wasn't expecting. The owner's wife said they did a lot to it, including using a Dremel which really bothered me. Got it home tried it out. It's making a metal rubbing sound. I used it for a few days not happy with the way it sounded. I know my machine and it was smooth running before. I took it back. She put it on a padded cushioned platform and it sounded OK. I couldn't get it to act up. As soon as I took it home, it started again. So I used it for a while and then it got worse. The thread started tangling like dreadlocks. So I was on my way to take the machine back when I decided to go someplace else that would've been the third trip back. I found a nice place in Boise that worked on it. They tried it out and they could immediately see there was a problem. It took them a while, but they discovered my wick was missing from my machine, the face plate was sticking up, and the feed dogs were bent!! I knew something didn't feel right. It was wobbly when I got it back from Johnson's. Before these folks took over Johnson sewing center. It used to belong to the uncle. he was a very nice guy and really knew his machines. He told me he was going to train his nephew to take it over. The place now is rundown, filthy and the outside is worse. I'm never going back.
