never thought i'd leave a yelp review for a post office but i felt the need to say this is the best…read moreone i've ever had out out of anywhere i've ever lived. everyone i've ever interacted with (mail carriers, in the post office itself, on the phone, etc.) have been a total joy. john our mail carrier is just amazing- so kind, generous, & i always look forward to seeing him. and jennifer at the post office is so incredibly helpful (when i had a mail hold and a package had been scanned but not delivered (FYI i now know that it'll be scanned even with a mail hold on & delivered later), she helped me track it down and got in touch with john who even got it & delivered it that same day after the normal delivery. the team here really does seem to care & always seems to go above and beyond. will really miss them when i move out of pacific grove!

I called and spoke with Leo and today, Linda (Lulu) and explained to them that while I had sent previous packages to this same address and that they were delivered , I was very unhappy to get this one back and wasn't sure why this happened. Not only did I pay for that original service, but now I was reshipping the same box only to have to pay once more. I was desperate to make sure that there was not a repeat performance when the shipment arrived there next week. Both Leo and Linda/Lulu were not only very professional and helpful, they were cheerful and offered assurances that I would not have another problem.

Since we live out of the area most of the time, it's really convenient to have a local delivery address. We paid our most recent bill ($166 annually for a small box) by mail one week in advance of the 1/31 due date printed on our bill. A few weeks later, I was in town and went to check our box, only to find I had been locked out. When I asked to speak to the manager (JR) he advised me that notices were slipped into boxes in early January that customers had to pay for their renewal by 1/9 in order to avoid a rate increase to $198. If you were out of town during the holidays and didn't get the notice, too bad. Even though we had paid the $166 bill on time, he demanded an additional $32 PLUS a $25 late fee. According to JR, we were responsible for accessing our box on a daily basis in order to receive and act on any such notices of fee increases - even those which conflicted with the bill we were previously mailed. Really? Daily? Where is this ridiculous policy written? JR insisted that this requirement was printed on the USPS PO Box application, but couldn't show me where - because it is not. Bottom line, this Louis DeJoy wannabe could care less about being fair to loyal customers.

This post office is inconsistent when delivering mail that has been paid for with the expectation…read morethat the items get delivered. Mail is consistently dropped off at random locations that are not the marked delivery address on the parcel. Moreover, packages are left along side wooded driveways half a mile away from the residence, left at unrelated gated communities, or other random addresses. Recently, the post office has started to mark the items out for delivery, then returns the items to the post office and "hands off" the item to an "agent" and then marks the item as delivered. The item is then transported back to a facility in San Jose with no indication where the package is or is going to, all at the same time being marked and communicated both to the shipper and recipient as "delivered." Furthermore, you have no way, besides driving to the post office, to talk to a postal representative to resolve the issue - which the are incapable of resolving. All communications via the automated phone service take hours and lead to no resolution, as the automated telephone service is not capable of resolving the issue nor is it able to transfer you to a human.

I was about to leave when I spied a young man silently observing me behind a counter. I told him about my package. He told me to put my package on a shelf marked Fedex Ground. I replied that I had a Fedex Express package. and put the package on the Fedex Express shelf. He did not print out a reciept for me, so I had to ask him to do so. It seemed to me that he was comitted to doing as little as possible.

The shipment history should have indicated a record by the fourth week. customer service was called multiple times but could not give a coherent answer. I then decided to file a claim which seems to have rattled them. Bottom line: where is the box? An air cargo was registered over a week ago and their system also shows no record of tracking number. In the past LBC processing of air cargo has been fairly quick with the Cargo on its way the week after registration, but not this one. Did they lose this one too? Another claim coming up!

Thus you might pass the store; so drive slowly. Customer service is so friendly here. Caveat: they do not help unload boxes from your vehicle. The cost to ship a regular size LBC box is now $75 dollars (due to COVID?) they take cash or credit/debit cards for payment Overall, I am completely satisfied and recommend this LBC location.
