Today was interesting. I walked into the post office and unexpectedly saw a girl from the Lawrence Post Office. She had a rude and nasty attitude, even though she had never met me before. Honestly, it was gross. She can go back to Lawrence with her bad attitude and unpleasant ways. I didn't see the regular person there, which was weird. read more

I have had a Post Office Box here for about 43 years. The price was initially about $10 per year. It has been going up pretty much every year over the past decade or so. Now over $300 per year - and the Lawrence PO and other surrounding Post Offices are less expensive, go figure! It has been a Pain in the A-- to mail anything there so I no longer try to visit and go elsewhere (btw, Salem NH is also very bad - lines out the door also). Unfortunately, I have to sign for things at times and therefore have to go to the window, which I dread....That typically means long lines and long waits, as there is typically one person at the window. I was there about 2 weeks ago, there were two people at the window, two customers with them, I was next in line with no one else behind me. When the customer was finished with the clerk, the clerk left. I had another 13 mins or so to wait until the person at the only window had about 7 return receipts done on her mailings. There were now about 7 people behind me and out the door. I had to pick up something unexpectedly at the window today - again, tried to find a time where it wouldn't be busy. WRONG! They were out the door again and people had lots of things to check in and only one clerk on duty. REALLY? So again, after driving miles, I had to leave and will return again - this is actually the 2nd time I tried to pick up the package....so it will be a third time in the future that I will give it another shot. It usually takes about 3 times to pick up something...unfortunately, I still have to wait typically 15 or 20 mins or more. I WANT OUT OF THIS POST OFFICE and don't care if I ever go back. Have been using and visiting this PO for 60 years. I will negate my business cards, invoices/receipts just so I don't have the aggravation of constantly waiting. Btw, the employees are typically nice and unfortunately are probably stressed when at the window and there is a long line. This does seem like a 3rd world country as far as the PO goes. BOB, whom I have dealt with numerous times over the years, is always friendly, is a help and enjoy chatting with him, IF there is not a long line out the door. Had to leave as it causes other issues, but will be glad to get rid of the stress and anxiety that this causes when I have to visit IF I have to go to the counter. read more

The Salem PO is awful. My problem is too long to expain in the space alotted. However, I will mention my temporary change of address was supposed to be effective as of 1-1-2024. Due to the agent at the Salem NH PO giving me incorrect info, I had to go to the PO at my temporary location and verify my identity for a second time. It's now 2-24-2024 and I've only received 2 mail deliveries with a total of 7 pieces of mail. This is inexcusable and unacceptable. read more

Every post office has tape for you , some of them even tape your packages , the guy refused to give me tape or tape AN ENVELOPE, WITH A PREPAID LABEL !!!! Worst costumer service , lazy people read more

The only reason I am giving this Post Office as many stars as I am is because of the employees. The build is way too small for the number of customers it has, the parking lot is way too small and parking on the street is difficult and dangerous because it is on a main st. There is not nearly not enough p o boxes. The lobby is extreme to small and at time it is almost impossible to get to the p. o. boxes because of people waiting in line to be waited on. Overall we need a new Post Office and with the present staff it would merit 5 stars read more

I had my mail forwarded starting Oct 30th from Sanford Maine to Kennebunk Maine. Wasn't getting anything so talked to the Kennebunk postal person and was told that the mail goes to Methuen MA and then is forwarded to Kennebunk ME. I live 15 mins from my originating post office but was told they have 18 to 21 days to make sure I have my forwarded mail. I just received a forwarded letter that was dated 12/9/19 from Methuen so that shows they can send quicker. My check is 2 weeks late and was told that I should have had my mail held. NO ONE told me that when I went to fill out the forwarding form! So thank you for a wonderful system NOT that is going to cause me to be late on rent, get overdraft fees from automatic payments, and other bills that I can't pay yet. This is NOT right, when I got a letter in one day from Waterville Maine. read more

Can be a busy post office. Staff is pleasant and try to move things along. Peak hours there will be a wait but not as long as Lawrence. Parking better than Lawrence too. Never had an issue, met some great people in line. Overall friendly experience and service depends on peak hours but guys are always do their best read more

Went to Methuen post office on Broadway during my coffee break this morning. Needed to purchase stamps and have an overweight envelope weighted for proper postage. Figured I was in luck as there were only two customers and one was already being helped. Footnote...only one station was open at the counter. So within a couple of minutes the lady in front of me was at the counter being serviced by the one and only employee. Well this lady had two envelopes to mail that required forms to be filled out. She had already filled out the forms but apparently not completely or correctly. So for the next twenty or so minutes I stood there watching the customer and post office worker try to figure out how to properly complete the forms. At one point the employee left the counter to go out back to consult/ get advise from another postal employee. In the meantime the line behind me grew to eight customers. The solo employee did not pay any attention to the growing line and apparently no employee cared to come out to the counter and help out. Even though I was next in line I had to walk out without getting my business done. Another customer walked out right behind me. Horrible service!!!! I will avoid going to this post office again. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience in my natural life at the methuen (mass) postal office. Besides being the size of a closet, the staff member at the front desk was annoyed at the item I wanted to ship and rude. he Guessed what box size i could use, squeezed the crap out of my gift in the box which was too small and taped the crap out of it. I asked for another box and he told me to tear the one i had open after he taped it for dear life. I left both boxes on the counter and refused to ship anything. I will never go back. Id rather go to a usps store anyday! dont waste your time! read more
