2021 COVID Update - This post office continues to serve our community during this pandemic, but I like it because its close walking distance in the neighborhood and you can get stuff done quickly. Had no line last yesterday and had to get a money order and mail it off. The people working behind the desk at the post office were really nice to me, I filled out the wrong information on an envelope and she gave me another priority envelope. Sometimes I just can't write the correct info as I am used to using a computer to get tasks done. So it's a staple for those of us in the triangle. read more

I don't understand why such services are offered to print your shipping labels yet upon arrival at the location, I am being told that they don't do that which had me go to the library next-door to print the shipping label. This is very much of a hassle and inconvenience, and if a location isn't able to provide such services, then it should be stated very well. read more

anyone know why Hayward Ca. USPS is unable to ship package within 1 day of receiving it let alone to ship it within a week of receiving a package? The logistics of this hub is absolutely horrible and unfortunately the quality of service is a direct reflection on management, therefore in conclusion the management of this facility should be terminated or put back on the floor and every position should be looked at as temporary until proven to be productive and packages are shipped within 24 hours of receiving the package. read more

Love this US Post Office. Denise helped me out, on a rainy day, after I dropped my deposit, rather than my letters, into the mailbox in front of this Post Office. She called the mail carrier responsible for the last pick up of the day and I waited inside, as it poured outside. After about a half hour, the last pick up of the day arrived and the box opened. Denise had taken down the relevant information and my deposit was located and confirmed. Wow, thank you Denise! read more

Stopped by my local post office around 45 mins before closing and it was empty. They have a few parking spots right in front for post office customers only and there's always street parking available and a large parking garage in the back. Natty provided great customer service and was very good at explaining the fact that I needed to ship an item through Ground as it was considered a hazmat item. They sell stamps, money orders, boxes, bubblewrap envelopes, and cards for any occasion. Check them out, I had a great experience. read more

What a great little Post Office! Always pleasant and welcoming, super helpful. It can be challenging to find parking spots out front but I've never had a problem. There's also spots directly across the street. But most of all, it's rarely busy and when it is, it moves quickly. The people in line are really nice and the staff are even better. If I could give a zero star, I would. The Filipina Lady in the counter was rude. I know I made a mistake but she asked me out of the blue if I studied or not, or if I finished schooling just because of one mistake. And for the record, I never tried to send anything via mail, it was my first time. I even told her that politely that it was my first time. Please tell your staffs to watch their words because they dont know if that person has his/her own personal problems to deal with. Please be kind to everyone. Located in the heart of Hayward, this historic building is full of charm and beauty from days past. The post ladies that work here are always busy. They work hard and I do appreciate their service. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Mail drop off parking spot is great, easy drop off when needed. For parking, usually it is hard to come by at lunch time. But you can find parking around the park or in the back. read more

This is the worst post office i have came across, i came to change my address there was only one person behind me in line i told a asian lady who was working there i needed to change my address she asked for a barcode i gave it to her she said it was expired when i got the barcode yesterday there's no way it'd be expired, i told her i'd rather fill out the paperwork and she said she had no paper which was probably a lie because she didn't want to manually type everything in she was very ignorant and rude so i went to a different USPS in Castro Valley are nicer and helpful, i suggest going there instead of here. I have tried to have faith in USPS and usually I do not have problems with mailing a package. But this time has really turned me off from using the post office again. I mailed a small package to my son in Hayward. The mail carrier claimed that the address was a vacant lot or a closed business. My son has received mail and packages at his home since he moved in. So this mail carrier obviously didn't read the address correctly! So other mail carriers, Walmart, and Amazon could find his address, but this mail carrier couldn't find it. A Living Spaces furniture truck found his address at night, but the mail carrier couldn't. I called the Hayward post office several times today hoping to talk to an agent and was told every single time by the recording that none were available and then they disconnected the call. They won't even put you on hold! It was extremely frustrating and maddening that the mail carrier couldn't find my son's address and I couldn't talk to anyone at the post office to get it redelivered. read more

It's right in downtown which is great. But customer service is terrible. I just went there 1pm ish because I checked in maps and marked as open. They were just leaving for lunch 1-2pm, ok I get it everyone needs lunch time. But I am asking them what time they come back and one of the ladies completely ignore me. The other one rudely says to come back at 2. It's not your fault ladies but it's not mine either. Treat others they way you want to be treated! I am always treated well by capable and kind employees when I come to this post office on C Street in Hayward California. Today a postal employee by the name Denise helped me at the counter so that I could get a special label for my package I was to mail. She didn't forget to ask me if I could use any stamps, or needed any other service besides the package that I was mailing. She was efficient, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Geez - If you are complaining about DELIVERY & PASSPORTS, leave your complaint on the Hayward Main Office page. ALL delivery & passports come out of there. Bradford Station should be an Historical Site/Landmark: they have chutes that were used in the old days - truck drivers used to drop the bags down them into the basement. Thanks to the new library narrowing one of their parking lot exits, I don't have much hope that will happen. The woodwork inside is awesome as well... Oh yeah, I love the clerks at Bradford. read more

I live 5 mins away and usually have envelopes to drop off for work. It's so inconvenient that they don't have a drop box outside of the office for after hours drop off. Parking is a slight hassle especially in the mornings. read more

I've been coming to this office on and off since 2017, and upon my visit today I can see that customer service is still just as bad. Workers are slow and have no sense of urgency, or respect for customer's time. And even with how lackadaisical they are, they still manage to express their impatience with the customer. Imagine you are taking your sweet time at your job, and also showing attitude toward the customer. Let me elaborate; I have context. I came in the office today and the current clerk was assisting customers slowly because she was old. This is understandable. But the second employee, lallygagging around, took like five minute to even acknowledge me. And when she did, she couldn't help me because the label has to be taped on. I asked for her to tape it on real quick. She refused, citing some asinine company policy, and I cut her off, telling her to just sell me the godforsaken tape. I struggle for minutes because the tape on the store shelf had been tampered with making it difficult to grip the strip of tape. Only after sitting and watching me did she go and get a fresh one. She tried to open it, and gave up and handed it to me. After many minutes of pointlessness, I got the damn label on the damn package. ONLY THEN did she feel the need to tell me that the return address was written on the wrong spot, and she could not mail my parcel. ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING. After all that, only then does she tell me this. As I said in the beginning, this post office has always given me experiences very similar to today's. And it isn't even the work of one employee. The one that I encountered today was a completely separate, useless employee to the one I used to see years ago. I don't know what it is about this specific location, but the people there apparently have never had a hard job before and get annoyed at performing basic customer service, courtesy, and general proactiveness in the workplace. I'd leave a zero star if I could. It was a mistake giving this location another chance, I hope they work you all to the bone. read more

Today was a good day! You expect crappy service when visit any government ran business. Let me get to the chase.The reason I ended up in here was I sent a label to affix to box for home pick up. My dilemma was I don't have a printer. So google the locations for the nearest USPS. I live between two lucky me. When arrived at the 825 C street location it was a line with 12 people waiting to be served. Now for the good part it's my turn I approached the counter and was greeted by nice hello and how can I help you today. I asked the counter person if she could print a label for me she replied sorry I can't but here are some option to get it done. Well I said since I rather just mail the package we both smiled through our mask. She said fill out the label and come back and see me. At this point the line had 17 people in it. I was going to go home and try again tomorrow. The counter person who I know as DENISE waved to counter and helped me! Customer service is not dead! I truly appreciated your level of service today Denise. If any of her upper management see this review Denise didn't forget to ask me if I could use any stamps, or needed any other service. This is one of the better post offices I have been to in a long time. I really liked how helpful the person at the counter was when I was clueless about sending something certified. This location is pretty cool too, from an aesthetic standpoint--it's right near the library and the newer part of downtown Hayward. Another nice thing about this location was the lack of any lines (especially compared to the post office on Santa Clara St.). I should note this was before noon on the times I've been here so there may be more people later in the day. The drawback to this location is that there is only one table/station to fill out tags etc. for packages; so it may be difficult to fill things out if you don't do that before you come, just keep that in mind. read more

The RUDEST Postal Service location I've been too! I can't believe this LITERALLY just happened! I understand the long lines and can tolerate the wait. There were only 2 clerks. I waited patiently for 10 minutes and then this brunette curly haired, glasses wearing female employee called me next. I asked if she could make sure I had the correct postage stamps on my envelope. She told me it was a package and it was $3.99. I believe I had $3.40 on it. Let me preface to say, I've mailed this SAME envelope with the same postage stamps at a San Jose branch before. The envelope got to its destination! I tried to express my confusion and explained that this package was all weighed out and sent from San Jose before. She just completely disregards what I said, says she won't take it cause it's not "proper" postage, AND THEN WALKS AWAY. SHE TURNED AROUND AND JUST LEFT ME STANDING THERE. As she left, she said with hostility and sassytude for me to drop it off in the box next to her. Holy cow, I am still in disbelief and shock that just happened. I had a bunch of mail get lost because I used my middle name when signing up for a PO Box, since that's what I normally go by. Denise is a literal hero. She solved the mystery in minutes and found my lost mail. With small town feels and a friendly style, I can't recommend this post office any more. read more

I need to spread some love to my postal friends. If you go at off hours this place sometimes never has a line. It is great! Yes, it is still open with the new library construction going on. Interesting tip - If you ever mail an envelope with like a key or a guitar pick or something thicker than paper it requires a forever stamp PLUS 21 cents because normal envelopes go through a machine and will mess up any object thicker than paper, so the 21 cents addition makes it so it won't go through that machine and LOSE your stuff! read more

First of all, every time I come to this post office it's closed. I rented a PO Box around two years ago and I can only access it during their business hours, which is literally when I'm at work. They open for two hours Saturday morning which is also inconvenient for me as it's TWO hours. Today, I was finally able to go pick up my mail after a few months. As I try accessing it, it's locked. I mentioned it to the woman working and she said I received multiple notices that I had to renew my box. I told her I worked during the time they were open so I hadn't been able to access my box which had the notices. She asked if I had received an email and I said no. I've never received any emails from the post office. I asked what happened to my mail from the past few months and she said since my box was closed they returned my mail to the senders. I was pretty upset because I've been using my PO Box for everything. I never got an email from them nor received a letter to my permanent address letting me know, and they just closed it without officially notifying me. Other than putting a slip in my PO Box that I clearly had not been able to access for the past few months. I left and decided to contact the PO Box on Santa Clara street as they have 24 hour access to their facility. Sure enough, they have a wait list. I came back to this post office and decided to pay an additional six months to continue with my PO Box. I was charged for six months beginning August 1 and an additional late fee, which I didn't notice till I walked away. I have no idea why I was charged for the entire month of August (when it's Sept. 28) and a late fee when all of my mail was returned to the senders and my PO Box was already closed. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. I would understand if they kept my mail there, but it wasn't there, they had returned it to the senders. The woman had even checked the system to see if my box number was still available. When I inquired about it, she was having a difficult time explaining (obviously because it didn't make sense), she mentioned that I was charged all of that to keep my same PO Box number. I told her I didn't care if I had a different number and in fact I wanted a refund and would like to rent a different number. She then said I would only get a 50% refund because of their policy. I was extremely upset. When she tried to seek help from her colleague, all her colleague said was "that's just how it is." I am extremely disappointed. I was literally scammed by this post office. I legitimately think this post office should close or revisit their policies and facility access hours. read more

The street in front of the post office is under construction but the post office is still OPEN!! I'm so glad I made a stop there Instead of driving back to the Hayward location! Ms. Denise has exceptional customer service skills. I was in a rush to get to work, and she guided me through the process of packing a unique package. I've always avoided the post office, and only go when absolutely necessary. Her co-worker Rosa was helpful as well they seem to work well together.
