A small post office. They take a break for lunch time - which I don't think is the case with larger post offices. For whatever reason people drive the wrong direction in the parking lot regularly. Small post office. Usually only one person working here. I suppose you could complain its small or just be thankful that it exists in the first place. If you have a PO box here it is unavailable for access unless the whole place is open for business. I've seen other post offices where you could access your PO box for hours sightly longer. The whole post office is closed for lunch. This is something you only have to deal with because it is so small. During the Christmas holidays be sure and send out your mail early. I don't want anyone to lose their job, but I see that everyone else is writing about the same clerk. My return package was lost a few years ago because he refused to give me a receipt. This time, he entered the wrong country. D: The package was sent out over a month ago, and my friend still hasn't received it yet. Luckily, I still had the receipt, checked it, and found that a different country was written on it. I usually go to a different post office, but their system was down that day, so I went to this one again. He's always on his phone and even told me to hold on to pick up a call. While I try to be patient and understand that it might have been an important call, judging by the other comments, I don't think so. Now, trying to recall the situation, I don't think he even asked me to verify the address. However, the package and the form I had to fill out were definitely correct because I had handwritten it. I called customer service, and they were super friendly. Unfortunately, all I can do now is wait for that country to send it back to me or eventually deliver it to the correct country. read more

This post office is located in the Manor neighborhood. This is a semi-busy plaza, but there is usually plenty of parking. I do not expect much from a post office, but I feel like they should had updated their hours, if they are closed between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm for lunch. It is an inconvenience, especially if you have other errands or obligations to attend to, if their hours are not properly updated, but if it is, then one can properly plan their visit. There was only 1 employee working, so the wait could be awhile - it is not a good place to go to when you are in a hurry/rush. On this particular visit, I needed to mail back an iPhone - I already had it packed/sealed in a postage-paid envelope and ready to go. I was first in line, since I waited here for about 45 minutes for them to open back up after lunch - they do not promptly open after lunch either. Anyway, the first 20ish minutes were a drag, but the last 20ish minutes went back rather quickly because I made small talk with a few local neighbors - they showed up surprised that they were closed for an hour lunch and waited alongside of me. I feel like they need to have at least 2 people working, so 1 person could be working the counter, while the other person goes to lunch - plus, there are times when it gets too busy for only just 1 person working. The main reason for my review is not because of their hours/being closed for an hour for lunch, but because of the employee named Kye. So this particular employee was not the most friendliest or welcoming person, but I already read a lot of unpleasant reviews regarding him, so I tried not to pay any attention to his attitude and service because I just wanted to be in and out. Plus, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe he is just stressed working by himself. Anyway, the reason why I am writing this review is in regards to how he treated my package - after I handed it to him, I asked him if I could get a receipt and that was when he just carelessly and unprofessionally tossed my package (with an iPhone) on the counter, so hopefully the phone was not cracked or damaged from this incident because if it is, at least I have this incident documented here. read more

Petite Caucasian lady seems impatient with all the customers the past few times I've been to this postal service. Was trying to buy M.O.s to pay bills. Gave me some type of IRS tax paper to fill out. If I could give zero stars I would and hear me out this review is not based on one experience but 6 months worth. This location has the cheapest PO BOX rates for the area so I selected them over other locations in hayward San leandro and San lorenzo. And I regret it 100%!! I dont want this old guy to lose his job but he needs help or a new position because the current capacity he is working in is not it I am sorry... I dont know if its the guy or the building but I have not been able to access my box not one time !!! He gave me a locker code that doesn't even work!! I have consistently asked for a new combination or even help opening the box and he consistently says its not his fought which may be true but it doesn't excuse the fact that he doesn't even know how to open the box. He also struggle servicing customers in a timely manner... One month his printer ran out paper Another month the computer crashed Another they ran out of flat rate envelopes He is not able to explain the various shipping options when asked There is always a line out the door... so not only am I not able to access my po box I always have to wait 30 minutes plus for him to be available to get the mail from the back this is by far the worse experience ever. On top of everything else he has the nerve to be rude to customers. . Often times there is a slight language barrier but with patience that can be over came . But who is being patient when someone is yelling at you because they can't do their job... Anything Mail or Package Related can be done here !!! It does have a limited number of PO Boxes Available and they are Closed on Weekends. Lines do get long sometimes as there's only one Counter Person there. It still has that Small Town Feel thought . I am not the first person to complain I'm sure about the elderly Asian man that works at the post office. He was so exceedingly rude today, he is the inspiration for this review. I had one package to send and I was the only person in the post office at the time. He asked me curtly to place the package on the scale, and as soon as I told him it was an international package he thrust paperwork at me and literally threw my package off "his" scale and told me to go over to the corner to fill out paperwork. It was so abrupt I was glad the contents were not broken inside. I would like to highlight that for no apparent reason his face showed complete disdain over my package and my being there... ? I went over to the corner to fill out the paperwork and brought it back. When placing the labels he covered over a portion of the address in the center...when it was time to pay he I pulled out my credit card and proceeded to hold my credit card near the reader until he told me to insert. He yelled at me! He said, "Take it out, out now, out out, take it out!" I told him it wasn't inserted I was holding it near the reader... There is really no reason to be this blatantly rude and combative, in any industry, in any setting. This person shouldn't be able to hold a position if they are treating people this way on a regular basis. I hope management can hire someone who is professional and appropriate because this man doesn't really deserve a place in the workforce. The receipt he gave me says he is Clerk 06. This post office is dead center in the Manor and it's super tiny self seems to service quite a few people. It seems like 75% of the time I need to stop by there they are super busy with a line out the door. I just need one stamp! They do there best to keep the line moving, but it takes a while to get to the front. The staff are nice and helpful enough, but they are older folks and that leads to the delay in the line due to the slower processing of customers needs. The one thing that gets on my nerves is that they close at 5pm on the dot if not a few minutes early every single day that they're open. Once I stopped to write my name on a form I was mailing. I leaned on the mailbox outside, because the line was at the door. I turned around ten seconds later and they had closed the door with me standing right there. This branch is what you would expect for a small town post office. The employees know their clientele and greet them promptly when they walk in the door. I understand that it's the Holiday Season, probably the USPS' busiest time of year, but there is something absolutely wrong with the fact that when I got to the window and informed the employee that I did not have the zip code for one of my packages he said he couldn't help me and gave me a Zip Code book from 2003 to find the correct zip code for my package. I was asked to step aside so I could look for the zip code myself, while they assisted the folks in line behind me. I looked for the zip code for about 5 minutes, but still could not find the right one. When all the customers left the building, except for me, another employee offered to help me find it by looking through the book again! I'm not a dunce and was slightly insulted that the guy thought I didn't know how to use the book as a reference, but I informed him that the book was probably outdated given the fact that it was from 2003! According to him the USPS has not published an updated version of the book because the data changes so frequently (D'oh! That's what I said.). I asked if he could look it up online because I know I can do it at home, but failed to do it since I was in such a rush. Apparently, the PCs provided to the USPS are slow as molasses (anyone care to donate any of their older machines?). I waited another 10 minutes before their computer was able to give us the zip code that I needed. Despite my recent frustrations with this branch, I have to admit that on "normal" days, they're usually pretty quick. I guess you can't expect them to provide you with any information. I had received terrible customer service here from an older Asian male employee named Kye. I walk into the store to send a package during a very slow hour, so it's very empty and Kye is standing behind the counter. I greet him and he makes no sound, no eye contact, gesture, acknowledgement of my existence. So I go on to ask about mailing a package. He was very rude and short in his responses. I ask for a piece of tape, he had some laying around. He refused and demanded I purchase new tape from the store for $4, whatever can't spare a piece of tape of yours. So I am now ready to hand him my package. I hand it to him but he is still standing still with no words for me, staring into space. He is standing in front of the scale, so I just place my package on the scale and he does the bare minimum to get my transaction through. ]When it came to paying, he said nothing but made the swiping gesture so I can swipe my card. Then the transaction is done, receipt comes out. He continues staring off into space, so I ask if that is my receipt. He nods yes, so I lean over the counter to rip my receipt out. Then a lady walks in and is looking at boxes, she turns her head to ask "Excuse me, how much do these boxes cost?... Kye responds "Go look for yourself, it has a price". I am not a big fan of this post office, but it gets the job done. It's a bit small and the people aren't that friendly. However, the lines here do move pretty fast. Rarely have I ever waited more than a couple minutes. Services: This location DOES NOT have the automated machines so you will have to wait in line. The staff aren't friendly, but they are efficient and they do get the job done. Even if you bring in pre paid labels and already weighed it at home, I am almost certain they will re-weigh it again. Small, local post office open Monday-Friday. There are usually two guys who work here. Both are always friendly. Since this is a small neighborhood post-office...these guys pretty much know everybody by name. If not name, they for sure know the faces they see. PO Boxes are available for rent in several different sizes for your needs. Packaging materials are also available for purchase. The few questions I have had, they were easily answered. They have even held my mail for me when I've gone out of town. The parking lot can be somewhat of a bear at times...depending on the time you go. With a Karate school, nail shop, preschool and coffee shop all in this little shopping center it can get a little hectic when all you want to do is run in and out. I frequent this USPS because it's closest to my job and well, it serves it's purpose. I've been going here for years and honestly, I do miss Ed who was an USPS clerk there but he has retired. This is the only post office in San Leandro that doesn't suck! It's really small, and services are limited, but the staff (especially the really tall older black gentleman) are friendly and pleasant. I would avoid this location if possible. I sell on eBay so I do a lot of shipping. Once in a while I have to ship from this location which is bad choice every time. There is a worker by the name of kye that refuses to give me a receipt for a prepaid label ( I never have this problem at any other locations). After if he decides to give you a receipt be sure to rip it yourself because he again refuses to hand it to you. He than takes my packages and throws them in a bin. This post office deserves 0 stars!!!! New Employees move at a snails pace. Other employees will walk by seeing there is a line to the back of the post office and not offer to assist. They need to reevaluate their staffing levels so there are more employee's to help at busy times?! Today is the 3RD TIME I have stood in line for 20 minutes for a money order, only to get to the counter and see the TINY SIGN posted down below the counter saying sorry we are out of money orders!!!
