I came here on a Saturday an hour before they closed and I was the only one in line! I was shocked. The lady who took care of me was super friendly and polite (something I have not experienced at the Oak Park location). The office seemed new and very clean. I always walk in large packages because I need the receipt to track the package. I have never in my whole life had a letter or package get lost with the USPS. I have huge faith in their service and I always say that the mail carriers are the hardest working people around. Rain or shine they deliver our mail. I was so happy to see that I finally found a post office that I can do business at and the staff is so helpful. Thank you, Elmwood US post office. read more

My personal experience at this post office is a sad tale of lost and destroyed mail. I've mailed out several letters over past several months, obviously one letter vanished from the face of the Earth because it never reached its destination. The other letter was returned to me, partially destroyed, with no explanation. read more

Always had very friendly ladies working when I go in and I get in and out quickly. Plus they are actually open when they say they are , which I can't say about the office closest to me. read more

Nicest ladies working of all time. Super helpful and always take care of my packages. Been shipping out packages for a reselling app for over 2 years and have never had an issue. Super quick lines and great service! read more

My opinion is that this location is the best Post Office in the entire city. It is all about people. The people who work here were friendly and polite every time. I live in this area for a couple of years and I'm coming to my local Post Office pretty often because of my working needs. And I have to admit that this people always gave me great attitude and exceptional help with a smile on the face. Even thru the mask. I wish them the best every time. I will keep coming back happy because they are professionals. They know how to do great job and they do it. read more

This is the absolute worst establishment ever the workers are beyond rude and offer zero assistance when needed and have a lot of attitude and I will never ever bring my services here again If I could put zero stars I would Completely awful read more

This is my favorite post office! The ladies are always so friendly and kind! One time I barely made it in because of traffic, got in exactly at 6:30pm and they were still so patient and lovely. I can't imagine having to deal with frustrated and rude people all day and still having a smile on your face and patience for others! read more

I hate this USPS. I've had orders say they were out for delivery and then say delivered when they never came. I have to go in, ask about it and wait to see who might have it which delays days. They never leave me a "we missed you" note and I've had a handful of packages go "missing". This is literally the worst post office to exist. read more

Yes, this office is very understaffed, but thankfully, I've been able to come during off times, when there is only a few people in line. The workers I've dealt with were stiff, but pleasant. I've seen worse elsewhere in many establishments... One time, I accidentally dropped my rent check in the post office box outside of this facility, and only realized it a couple of hours later. They worked with me, although it took a few hours, to have someone come and open the box, so I could retrieve my letter. They asked for a few IDs before they would give it to me, and had me verify the addressee, but that's a good thing. The customer service gets a 3 from me. I only wish they were open earlier and later. My work hours are the same as the hours they are open. read more

I have mail returned when my box is clearly marked...we constantly are getting the wrong mail or mail for people that moved over 10 yrs ago...this is the WORST post office delivery I have ever seen...says no such apt but THEY send me a postal card with address read more

I bought a Father's Day gift for my husband, and when the package arrived at home, the box was empty. As in completely empty! The box was opened and 2 tapes were applied in effort to re-package the box. And they even took the card inside too. Smh! I always believe in Karma, you took little stuff like this and you'll lose triple, quadruple the value of what you stole. I will never order anything that will be shipped thru usps. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Elmwood Park, Illinois

I had been waiting for a package for the last few days and I had no tracking updates on my order status. I was pretty upset and I went to the post office to find out. I was there around 6:20pm just as they were about to close. The supervisor Ashley went out of her way to find my package, and took down my information to follow up with me. They were really understanding of my situation. It really changed my opinion of the USPS. Friendly staff, attentive and really seem to want to help. read more

I've never had a problem with this USPS. I do a considerable amount of mailings, which are delivered promptly. Staff has always been kind and helpful. read more

This is the absolute worst post office in the world! The postal delivery workers are constantly giving us the wrong mail and I am not receiving my mail. I am missing my tax bill and now I have to send a letter--snail mail-- to Cook County Treasury office to get a duplicate bill. What a waste of my time. Do your job! read more

Ghetto ass hell , the way they pick up the phone, they must hire ANY body at this post office, what happened to friendly customer service, if it is so hard to talk proper english , stay off the phone !!! Obviously the job is too hard for your slow behind read more

Everytime I come here they are understaffed. There is a 20 minute line with only one person working. Absolutly horrible.

No stars actually but Pam and Sharon are the worst! Every time I go in there they act like they're better than you and will not help you no matter what. They will make you wait while they take forever doing who knows what in the back. And if Pam is gonna talk about ya make sure the customer can't hear it or wait until they leave. Everyone in line in front and the 1 person behind me all got told no there stuff wasn't there even though their papers all said to go get it after a certain time. Maybe my package will go out maybe it won't. Not sure but if it doesn't leave or show to location in time the postmaster will know about it. To show their horrible customer service. read more

Sharon was extremely rude, not sure how she still has a job. Upper management should really look into it. She treats customers very poorly.

I went in on a Friday at 5:00- luckily they didn't close until 6:30. I had to get a money order and send a certified letter. The two ladies working were so nice and helpful. read more

Elmwood Park has absolutely the worst US Postal Office! Carriers do not deliver mail on time and sometimes do not deliver at all. Mail is missing regularly, I've had checks stolen from my PO Box and my packages are always late and the mail carrier always states online that they could not access the property to deliver! I have a house with an entrance from the street! I've made numerous complaints but nothing changes. If you have anything important to send, go to the River Grove Post Office or the River Forest Post Office! read more

Bad review because they lost a certified package that was very important from my work that I was mailing out to send to corporate office. I had to pay a massive fee to cancel for what I had in that package not only to this day I have no Idea as to were it is. The tracking was completely lost the employee (manager) couldn't help whatsoever I called customer service and even they had no Idea as to were my package was. I will no longer be mailing packages through here. read more

this has been an ongoing problem, daily receiving incorrect mail and mine is missing! had a neighbor bring a shopping bag full of mail addressed to me! went in person to complain and nothing has changed. saw my carrier driving down alley ways, asked why he was there and he said it's easier? did we suddenly get mailboxes in alleys??? maybe that's why I donot get the correct mail! wish this problem could be resolved read more

This is by far the most incompetent group of individuals out of the many post offices I visit in the Chicagoland area. Most of them are rude and cannot handle money. Also, they are notorious for making you stand in line for 30 minutes, while they take their time with each customer only to find out there aren't any stamps---at a POST OFFICE! Also, they are good for charging your credit card twice. read more

OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! This is the worst post office EVER. Professionalism and customer service is non-existent. I have file numerous complaints for receiving wet mail because the delivery person is too lazy to close the freaking mailbox lid and delivery people lying about attempting to deliver packages when clearly I'm at home (WITH WORKING DOOR BELLS!). Just recently I filed a formal complaint (again) because I received a delivery attempt email notice on Sunday (order transferred to USPS from UPS) at 3:34pm, indicating that a delivery attempt was made at 3:13pm. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was home cooking dinner, with the Front and Side Doors open. There was no delivery attempt notice left. When I called Monday morning to file the "blatant lie" complaint, I was told that my package would be redelivered on Tuesday. Well my package was delivered on Monday afternoon and the packaging tape had been cut so that the entire package was open and very visible. I believe this was done intentionally because I filed the complaint and maybe someone was reprimanded. Soooo, I called again to add the package issue to the existing complaint. I don't expect anything to change because I believe this post office has poor management oversight and minimally trained workers. AGAIN, OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK! read more

I don't think that the other review was fair, don't know about the mail processing, but the staff is always helpful . If you need more tape to secure your package they will let you use their mailing tape for FREE and gladly. Everywhere else they made me purchase a pack of tape regardless of how much I needed(the tape was mine to keep of course, but for how much $$$...).So that is for the post office clerks... We had the same problem with the mailman though, but it seems to be the sub that does that kind of "every other day" mail. read more

The worst customer service experience ever! Was a receiving a package for Christmas through them, tracking number claimed delivered but I been at my door ALL DAY! No one showed, after a 45min wait with customer service support I'm finalized to go to my local post office (them) and speak with a supervisor. I go and no one knows where the supervisor went then I'm scheduled for some one to call me and no one does. 2 weeks later still have no answer nor package. Happy holidays read more

I've lived in Elmwood Park most of my adult life, and they must have one of the worst postal offices in the country. Consistently getting other people's mail, so where's mine going?? Have lived at my current address for 8 years, yet STILL getting mail from the previous resident, even though I've told them a dozen times that they no longer live here. Just waiting for the day my credit rating gets shot after they fail to deliver one of my credit card statements and force ALL my cards to 20% plus interest rates. That'll be a lawsuit waiting to happen! Our mailbox has been broken by the mail carrier 3 times, because he keeps jamming mine and other people's mail into the slot. read more

Many times when I was sending the packages customer service was rude and unhelpful, sometimes my mail was not delivered at all or destroyed or returned to sender for no reason or simply not delivered! today package delivered from Poland was completely teared opened with many missing items, package was not even fixed and secure with tape, I wish I could choose zip code other than 60707 because Elmwood Park Post Office is absolutely the worst experience for me ever. read more

I live in a 3 unit bldg. Is it too difficult to put our mail in the proper mailbox? Not all in one.

This place is one of the most horrible business places you can go to! These employees are so rude they will give you impression you should be glad you are actually served at all! Ive been there many times and they never EVER smile or are polite, but today actually my today's experience makes me write. .. my insured package was sent to completely different location 10 days ago and since 6 days its been there (as I can follow tracks through tracking #) I called and asked for supervisor/manager of this location (since my package was sent from here) and asked for help. The supervisor was very irritated with me stating it's not in his post office so there is nothing he can do - so I helped him insinuating he can call that location where my package was last sent, he put me on long hold and when he got back took my tracking number saying "if I find time today ill try to call there" (??????) Isnt he working for me as customer? ?? Or am I wrong? ??? Lets see if he calls me back. .. I'll come back here to post the end of my experience... read more

Definitely the worst and rudest people! I wonder how is it possible that after all these horrible reviews those same people still work there! I guess government doesn't care how they treat people who actually pay their salaries. Incompetent! They don't even know their own regulations! They can just refuse to take your package without decent explanation. And when you ask them to show regulations, they refuse and say "Take it up with downtown office"! What kind of an argument is that?! Sharon just hates me personally, for God knows what reason? Her face changes the minute she sees me. Every time she picks on this or that detail in my mailing. Supervisor Diana Hernandez is horrible, rude, condescending and unprofessional. She does not know the first thing about "customer serving". They all cover for each other. What do you expect? Every time I go there, it is like I am not in the US anymore. I am being treated like a criminal. Is it maybe because I speak with an accent? They always look down at me. I think after all these negative reviews, some sort of an investigation is in order. I will go up that ladder! I am tired of this! read more

This post office is a joke, and a bad one at that. Our mail is frequently delayed. The letter carriers are too lazy to put the mail into it's proper boxes, (we have a 3 flat), so they cram it all into the lowest box where it often gets soaked with rain. Trying to get a package delivered is a nightmare. Twice our carrier lied and indicated that two separate packages had been delivered, when in fact they were sitting on a shelf in the post office. The last time that I called this PO, (today), to ask a simple question about a package, I was told that they were "too busy" to answer my question because they "had to get their reports done"! I wish to God this country would wise-up and contract with a reliable carrier like UPS, DHL, Fedex, etc., and put these morons out of business. This is what happens when you give a bunch of lazy slugs, who feel that they are entitled to compensation without working for it, jobs where it is absolutely impossible to get fired. read more

this post office is the worst in the country. i have lived in this town for 30 years. at first it was our mailman just didn't feel like delivering mail some days. then we would get double the next. i have to drive one town over to go to river grove to mail things because the mail goes out to the suburbs addison for processing. in elmwood park the mail goes to chicago which is a crap shoot if it will even get to destination. they just are plain bad read more
