Everyone in this place is so friendly! It's a cute neighborhood post office. Never had any issue here.

I purchased an item that had to make its way through this Post Office. Unfortunately, the item never made it out. Getting anyone on the phone here is a joke. USPS still hasn't located the package, but thankfully, I got a refund from the company. If USPS hasn't investigated this location, they should. When you Google this location, you'll find dozens of customers who have written reviews about how their items have gotten "lost" here. Pray that you never have a package that has to come through this location because this is where packages come to get stolen, er, lost. read more

Since 2014, I've gone to this post office at least once a week. I've gotten nothing but excellent service. I have a PO Box there and have all of my business' supplies sent here rather than having boxes sitting outside my office. The manager Venice there is resourceful, kind and helpful. Whenever I've had a question about postage/shipping she's always been patient with me. She and her employees are very attentive and are ready with my boxes so quickly. You really can't beat service like that! They have really been a godsend to me and my business. Highly recommend! read more

Nice small location. Friendly staff. Easy to park and run in to handle your business. No hassle or long lines to wait long. I walked in and was out in less than 10 minutes. I encounter the manager at this facility yesterday, (1-17-24). She was rude and extremely attitudinal. I was only asking basic questions regarding sending my own pre-package small box vs. the postal service's flat rate box. I gave her no reason to behave in such a disrespectful manner. Unfortunately, her behavior epitomizes the negative perception the public has of postal employees working behind the counters. Rendering basic courtesy and respect to customers is an important part of the job. read more

I just went to drop off a package, should've been an easy in/out situation - the label is already on the package. Get to the door along with 3 other people.....they are closed. Apparently, a lunch break until 1:00. I understand that everyone needs a lunch break, but I'd suggest that they coordinate internally to cover the typical lunch hours because that's when folks are able to run errands during the week and head to the post office. By reading the other reviews here, I guess it's not surprising and that they aren't really in the customer service business at this location. read more

I frequent this post office and have had nothing but great service. The staff have been very friendly and have handled both my packages and me very well. Even when there is a line, they are courteous and friendly. My only reason for withholding a star is because of the mid-day closure they have which I presume is a staffing issue but is somewhat inconvenient. My favorite post office in the area. read more

This post office first received my package on 9/11, which was shipped by the seller on 9/3. After an already frustrating delay in shipment, I signed up for tracking alerts. Just yesterday Saturday, 9/19 I received 8 alerts of processing at their facility!!! Really!? Your po can't get it together?? Why hasn't my package left since 9/11?!?! It's going on 10 days that my package remains "processing" at this po. My package better not be damaged. I am furious! I will be making a trip out to this po tomorrow, Monday. t This post office is my favorite for customer service. Perhaps those complaining do not realize all deliveries go through Oak Park's Garfield Ave facility. This post office only does delivery in the Post Office boxes in their own lobby. I have had problems with deliveries of simple letters from the Oak Park location. It took 1-say longer to get a package delivered from china (7787 miles away), than it did from Middletown, OH (240 miles away) .Yup - That's right! - On 02/07/2023, the package went from the Post Office in Middletown to Youngstown, to Warren, PA, and arrived in Chicago (60502) just 24-hours later (from OH to PA to IL, all in 24-hours). From 02/08/2023 my package moved from 60502 to this location 60130 postal facility (33 miles from my location), and then DIDN'T MOVE for 4-DAYS (that's 4-days), and when it did move, They sent it to the wrong Post Office, which is just 5 miles from my location, where it sat for 2 more days, when it finally made it to my Post Office 8 miles away (farther away than the wrong Post Office) on 02/16/2023, and then was delivered -Hallelujah- ... A total of 9-days later ... My package from Shenzhen China took 10-days to deliver ... Due to their continued poor and inept performance, the Post Office was rewarded with, still another unwarranted rate increase last month ... read more

Can I give this location zero stars? Never been inside, so cannot say if the staff is friendly or not in person, but everytime & I mean EVERYTIME a package of mine is sent to this facility, it just sits there. No movement or updates. I just cringe when I see Forest Park in the tracking details. So frustrating. And this was an issue long before COVID hit, so it's not just that causing unacceptable delays. read more

Ok - So I don't have normal wedding invitations. They're not just easy stuff and seal things - they have objects in them, and each envelope weighs and costs something different depending on the size of the object. I knew I couldn't go to my local post office (terrible service) or basically any Chicago post office (terrible service) so I went to Forest Park. This is a small post office - the counter only has two people working, but I brought just 10 envelopes to mail. Not only was the woman working nice and funny and friendly, she didn't even seem to mind to be individually weighting and stamping my envelopes. This is my favorite Post Office! It has easy street parking in front and on the side. The small lobby is kept in good order. My favorite part is that the employees are efficient, happy, and helpful. Do you know those commercials for UPS where someone wants to ship a difficult item and UPS helps them find the appropriate box, protective filling, and then they send it for a reasonable price? Well, that's the sort of service experience I get at this post office. I bring them something and they help me figure out the best way to package it. They also happily tell me the cheapest shipping option (which is always my preference). Furthermore, they are never busy so this extra attention isn't holding up the line. There are a bajillion post offices between me and this one but I go out of my way for it. read more

I had a package that shipped to this particular location and has been held up there for more than FOUR days!!! This package was a birthday present that was supposed to arrive a day prior to the recipient's special day. For some reason it was originally being mailed through UPS, not sure why this changed! My daughters graduation tickets have been at this location for 8 days with no further effort to be sent to my home. We nee the tickets for obvious reasons but most importantly we fly out in 48 hours for the graduation. The phone number on file is a recording or they recommend that you call the 800 number that provides an estimated hold time of 3 hours. I'm extremely frustrated. read more

Like many other dissatisfied customers I too had a package delayed for several days at this facility. If these ongoing issues continue the Federal Government who run this Post Office should intervene and put a stop to this or be investigated. I've had so many bad experiences with this Post Office that I will never mail anything from it again. I'm thinking of getting a PO box in the next suburb because I have such a hard time getting packages delivered FROM this Post Office. The mail carriers often do not bring your packages with them when they deliver your mail. They just leave you a note saying they couldn't deliver the package and you need to go to the PO to pick it up. I know this because I've caught them doing it. Sometimes you don't even get a note, until you get a FINAL NOTICE, saying the package will be returned if you don't pick it up within a few days. Sometimes you never get the package. This has happened to me on one, two, three, four occasions. Confirm with sender that it has been mailed, but somehow (?) it never arrives. On two occasions I actually eventually received the original packages -- one, 3 months later and the second, 6 months later, in very battered, torn-up packaging. The CTA passes I ordered online NEVER arrived, even though the CTA sent them out three times. I finally had them mailed to my work address. They came through a different Post Office -- no problem. Neflix sends out a notice that they've mailed me a certain DVD. I never get it. But days later I get an email from Netflix saying that they've received it back, thank you. Magazines routinely pile up for 3 or 4 weeks. Then I get them all at once, some of them a month old, with torn covers. Most frustrating thing: Nobody at the Post Office has a clue how or why these things happen. And certainly nobody cares that it does happen. My only regret about living in Forest Park is this dysfunctional PO. read more

I have an EBAY account that I ship several items every week. I have been tracking packages that were sent and for some reason, several have been held up at Forest Park, IL. One has been there since the 4th of Jan and this is the 11th. My customers are getting very upset that they have not received their items. What do I tell them? No one will answer the phone and when it goes to the answering machine it says that it can no longer accept messages. It 's no wonder that people chose other services and that they claim they have no money. Maybe doing a better job would get people to start using the USPS again. read more

Then I have an issue with this post office in Forest Park, IL they have sorted at their facility one of my books on the 25th of December and it has not been sent out of there since. I ordered some Yankee candles - I live about 100 miles south of Chicago (zip 60974) FedEx delivered my package to the Forest Park postal office on 12/29/2010 - but Fedex does not request signatures when dropping off at the USPS. I didn't receive my shipment and still hadn't received it as of Jan 8th. Yankee wasn't much help either, basically told me it was my problem. I called Fedex and they put a tracer on it. Forest Park said they didn't get the package. MMMMMM - I have to agree with Tonya G - something doesn't sound right in the Forest Park postal office. What a crock! read more

Wow! I'm starting to wonder if Forest Park sorting facility has something against Iroquois County. I too have a package (which I needed yesterday) sitting at that place for a week now. At least, according to tracking results. I call there and get voice mail that promises to return my call....hasn't happened. Fed Ex should think twice about "partnering" with the P.O.
