I would not recommend this location they are not helpful and unless you are over the age of 45 they treat you like an annoy kid which is beyond rude. Also I went to send a package for a return and it needed a QR code scanned to print the broker label. Which I looked up and this location says it s a label broker. And the man asked what I needed, proceeded to explain and he told me I was wrong they don't do that, that no USPS location does it. When it is one the USPS website stating that they do. One was sent to Oregon, one was sent to colorado, today one made it to my local office and then was sent to another city and the other day one item from Connecticut ended up in Puerto Rico. I've been going to this post office for a long time. The staff is efficient and friendly. It was slightly disappointing when they stopped keeping the building open to P.O. Box holders 24/7, which I'm guessing is due to the homeless. As far as the comments on here about them being rude, I disagree. They are just trying to get the job done, especially if there is a line. I'm sure they also get tired of people not addressing their packages or taping them up properly. I've witnessed some pretty jerky customers in there who are completely clueless. I'm sure that if you are friendly to them, they will be friendly back. Figure out what you need to do before you get there with a simple Google search or a visit to usps.com. There are also panels with pricing above the windows in the lobby. Don't waste their time and cause a line by not knowing how to mail a letter. read more

I like this place. I used to live close to this post office and would go here a lot. This place has a 24-hr. kisosk (you can buy stamps and send packages anytime-super convient-I don't send as many packages since my little brother got home from serving an LDS church mission, but I still like the idea that I can, even if its 2am). I also like their mail boxes. They have the old skool combination locks on the boxes (they look really old and cute-sooo vintange). I like the locks opposed to keys...one less thing for me to loose. Horrible customer service and laziest workers. I requested an application for a PO Box and they said to go to staples (i don't have a printer at home) even though I already reserved one online. I called customer service to instruct me where to find it and they said that they should have been provided one at the location because it's their job to do so (that's what we pay taxes for). Went back and they said the same thing. Go to the other location down the street you'll see people who actually do their jobs and aren't rude and lazy. read more

Terrible Customer Service. I find that almost everyday I am missing at least one piece of mail daily. I call the post office and you can't get through to anyone. It's been 2 months and several checks, benefits packets and other mail never made it to me. I filled a dispute and all the mail carrier said was "all mail has been delivered." Tried calling about my car being backed up into by a mail carrier (this happened 3 weeks ago) and no one has contacted me. I spoke to the supervisor, told her what happened, she put me on hold and then came back on to tell me my story was wrong. Decent post office, plus 24-hour PO boxes! I guess in the world of post offices, this one isn't so bad. The employees are generally helpful, and the lines are never overly long. You also don't have to shout through some odd bulletproof safety glass contraption, which is nice lol. Pretty good parking lot, although it's a bit odd since you can only enter from the front, and the rear driveway exit is only an exit. Not that you can't come in from the back driveway and then flip around to park properly in the angled spaces, but still. I'm sure this will never be looked at or changed evaaaarrrrrrrr even though it would be for the better! 24 hour PO box access is nice! So many other locations are restricting their hours, which is very counterproductive! Somehow all of the other customers are polite here too. I'll take what I can get, that's for sure!!! read more

I got out from work and rushed to the post office just before 5:00pm. I tried to fill out the form quickly to send the package. One dark employee (I don't know his name) said the system doesn't take an international code, and asked me to come back tomorrow. Another Asian guy asked me to leave as he prepared to close the door. Worst Post office I have ever used. Nobody answers the phone. I think the person actually picks it up and hangs up after it rings too much for them. I had a delivey that was attempted a day earlier than I expected and I was not home. I didn't realize until the delivery did not come on the day that I expected it and when I checked the tracking it said I missed a signature required delivery the previous day. So I logged in and set it for a redelivery. Nothing comes. I call the 800 number customer service since the post office doesn't answer the phone. They set it for redielivery. Again no delivery. This is gonna be my first bad review of the year, and probably the worst review I've ever written on anyone, which I don't normally do if you look at my 100+ reviews.. anyways... I Go to the post office in Costa Mesa on Fairview to send out In-N-Out Burgers to my buddy in New Jersey because he loves them so much but can't get them out there..they tell me I have to go to this post office here that I'm writing a review on now.. I walk in and speak to the guy at the counter about shipping it and asking what else I will need to ship this out, if anything. The employee starts to insist that they are not allowed to ship anything out that contains dry ice..I politely say that their website states that they do permit to send out containers with dry ice. He continues to tell me that the only thing they can send out would be the ice packs that you put in the freezer. Here's what really gets me, he's so sure of himself that he tells me to print out a copy of where it says that USPS will ship out a container that has dry ice in it..well obviously I don't have a printer on me and driving 30 minutes round trip is ridiculous, especially considering it had to be overnight delivered anyways and that I was just on time to begin with. When it comes to mail and package delivery in this area it boarders on ridiculous. Our mailman is known for his psychotic behavior (yelling at residence, throwing a package at a resident in one case) in our neighborhood and complaints to the post office go unheard because of their union. Because I dared to complain about the service I was getting I no longer get my mail. I get none of my bills and packages shipped to my home show as 'delivered' but never actually make it to my door. I work from home and live in a gated community. These aren't being delivered and stolen; these are simply never making it to the door. read more

I live in one of the apartment homes near this USPS branch and since having moved within the same apartment complex to a different building, we have not been receiving mail that we know have been mailed weeks up to a month ago. Some agents are nice and helpful but then there are those bad seeds that ruin the experience. The supervisor Scott (was very helpful) gave us a form to fill out in a last ditch effort to recover our lost mail. These are important mail, btw. I was reading this mail recovery form and wanted to clarify how we would be notified of the recovery status since there is no number to contact them and it indicated that we would only be contacted by phone if they needed more information. I asked the tall African-American agent (with whom we submitted our form) how we would be notified and he responded by phone. I said but the form said they would only call if they had more questions. His tone was that of arrogance and attitude. When I realized I wasn't going to get anything informative from him, I thanked him and walked away. He mumbled something to someone and laughed while we walked away. Not the only negative experience I had with this man. He is there to provide information regarding mail delivery and issues. I love this quaint post office. There's plenty of parking but sometimes there are beggars in the parking lot which makes me feel uncomfortable. Mostly a family begging for money with their kids. The same people have worked there forever which means they are knowledgeable and quick with servicing your needs. They are always polite, do things right, and give you the best options for shipping methods. I love this neighborhood post office. read more

Apparently packages have gone missing or "stolen" within my unit (inside a keyed box). My package among others are "delivered", but the packages are nowhere to be found. The post office is pretty much NOT taking any responsibilities for my missing items. They are sorry, but I will probably lose my items forever, since the mailman has been on this route for 10 years and for sure he delivered my package. This post office is saying that this is the third claim within the last month...so why are they still delivering packages to boxes if there is an apparent thief? This HAS to be an inside job because I received a key to open the mailbox, but there is nothing inside the box. Who else would have a key? My suggestion is DO NOT use the post office as a delivery method or your packages may be "stolen" as well. I am going to report to the police department because it may be something far more serious. read more

I can start off by saying they are a group of nice people. Though "nice" does not mean helpful in any way. In short terms, they do not try to be helpful and can come off rude or even uncaring. As far as I remember, working at the United States Post Office use to be a great job with people who enjoyed their job. Since those times, the prestige has diminished. Not sure why either. Plus now, there are not as many letters going in and out, so the workload should be a fair bit lighter. My personal experience is with a package who's tracking information stated it had been delivered. So I go to pick it up and there is no yellow slip. It was somewhat of an urgent package. So this nice man refers me over to the manager. I give her the tracking number and she tells me to come tomorrow....heh? Her reasoning is that "the PO Box people should never come on Monday". To me that is just bullshit. So I left. Long story short, I would avoid this Post Office. The exception would be to get stamps, outgoing mail, and that is about it. I don't go the post office often but when I do, it is usually for work and I go to the Irvine post office. This Post Office is great! Its really easy to find and the postal workers were very nice and helpful. I had to pick up a package that had been sitting at the post office for about two weeks. I was worried my package might have been sent back to the sender but luckily it was still waiting for me at the good ole Post Office. Why is everything in costa mesa so much better? I've often stopped by here when I need to drop off mail between classes or if I'm near OCC. Compared to the post offices in FV and Westminster, this is by far the best! Service is fast and friendly. You don't wait forever in line so no need to grab a # and wait lol. I think the longest I've ever waited during rush hour was about 3-5 mins :) There's also plenty of parking and a 24/7 access to the boxes inside read more

Not as fast, efficient, or with the operating hours that the Sunflower location has, this location has crowded parking and some very slow staff. The front desk Asian man was rude towards me and had an attitude problem. I wanted to make some change to a "change of address" online request, and he was not helpful even though the request was fair and square within his domain. In fact, an online option was not available, so would have been the only way that I could have got help. He gave me a form saying it was the last one, then he started showing me how to fill the form asked me to go do it, but when I came back he was not pleased at how I had filled it, so I showed him that he was wrong because of the asterisks on the form, and he looked offended and said "I've only been doing this for 27 years", and took the form from me and gave me no confirmation of my request to change the "change of address". read more

I had an damage claim and went here to get it resolved, I was quoted a week for the whole process, and it's been over 2 months and still have not gotten an update from them. When I called for updates either I get no response or it's a rude postmaster not helping the situation, it's pathetic how much they don't care. They are currently renovating..... so the lines are strangely longer than usual. Before they got rid of their queuing system, I was only 2 or 3 behind people rather than behind 10 million people..... but hopefully once they renovate it'll get better. If I could leave a -10 it still wouldn't be enough. My postal carrier is the worst! I get other people's packages. Every time I get one of those pink slips for missed delivery I never get the package. Twice the carrier closed the mailbox door on the package catching the wrapper in the door causing it to get stuck. It goes on and on! I call the office & they never answer! read more
