I always have a great experience at this post office! Easy to get my packages shipped and everyone is always friendly!

This specific post office has the worse customer service ever. To make matters worse and to add an insult to injury is the availability on parking for customers like me. There's just not too many to park and followed other customers parking at the employee parking spots at the back where the mail truck parks. Management team needs to do something about it and update it. This is awful. Pros: None. Aside the self sever check out on buying stamps. Cons: USPS workers that works at the cash register are SLOW AF & not that knowledgeable of their shipping supplies. And what I mean by that, I came in to ship a returned first class item that I had, and the labels wasn't taped as I was out of tape at home. So I asked if I can use their custom form sleeves, and they said they can't unless I want to upgrade my First Class mail to Priority Mail. And I'm like, "TF you mean. I worked at a Military Post Office overseas, and we have the same supplies as you. Because the APO(military post office) is an extension of USPS where USPS can't go. And we don't say shit like that to nickel and dime folks and that it's only for priority mail. Nothing in the custom form sleeves says 'priority mail.'" And they still refused me service after educating the fuck out of them and the mail clerk wanted me to buy a small roll of tape for $4 instead so I can tape my labels. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE dude. WORSE SERVICE EVER! And I left the facility not buying shit, because I don't wanna wait at the back of the line again that's almost out the door with how slow they process mail for dispatch and this happened at 3pm on 28 June 2022. Side note: This facility needs a deep training for proper customer service etiquette and know their shipping supplies more. I guess I'll make USPS work harder to ship free supplies to me, when they can't offer the same service behind the counter for "Applying FREE CUSTOM FORM SLEEVES" to hold my address label/customer form regardless if its first class, priority, or express mail. Because it fits all types of class mail-check the photos again for review on what I mean. It's not just for fuckin' priority mail. read more

I had to call 16 times over the course of one hour before their operator would pick up. Never even put on hold, just rang until hanging up after 10 rings the first 15 tries. Then, once I spoke to someone they were very rude and not at all informative about my question regarding redelivery of mail that was missed for two days due to a road closure. read more

Filled out a change of address online from the USPS site, printed it and brought it to the office, was told that "there was a mistake" on their end and that they would mail out another one to my old address that I don't live at. Unbelievable poor service. I keep having to go in there since they deliver my mail to the wrong house, dump signature required packages without signatures, now are not bringing packages up to my house at all. The tall guy with the gray hair is almost comically rude "if you don't like it, get a PO box." I guess they are government employees so can do whatever they want. We recently got a new contract mail carrier for our rural route, and they were not delivering oversized packages to the house. The carrier would leave a "pickup at the post office slip" stating our house was more than 1/2 mile from the mailbox. This was not correct (it is .4 tenth of a mile), and I contacted the USPS office on Vallombrosa. Trish Carino, the Supervisor of Customer Service contacted us right away and immediately worked with us and the carrier to resolve the issue. I went in today it was around 2;30/2:45 ish I believe and I had to do a return there today and the older lady working there was super rude and not helpful i hate the fact I was forced to buy tape for like only about not even 3 small layers it was just so I could tape down the shipping label and it costs 4 dollars and tax I'm like why do I need to do this win the workers should be equipped with this sorta thing and she didn't even try to help me I didn't know what I was doing the whole time I just feel like people do returns all the time I don't get why they can just do it win it just takes only 3 seconds to do it her customer service was really bad 1 star for only that reason and her disrespect read more

I needed to get tax quarterly posted on 1/16/24 by 5 pm and the two postal workers were working hard to get everyone accommodated. I had to go to front of long line to ask next person up if I might step in front of him as it 4:55 pm! He gave me permission and everyone was watching me with my desperation clearly evident. The clerk took my two envelopes and said so all could hear,"I'll make sure to stamp them by 5:05 pm." I gasped out loud and soon realized she was joking with me! Everyone was laughing as well! I complimented her on a 'good one' and the entire episode gave everyone in the line a good laugh. Couldn't get much worse. Moved up from SoCal. Started receiving mail, then didn't. Ended up mail was "lost" or "stolen" by carrier and when speaking with post office, idiot at the counter lied about where it was. Total incompetence, total lack of integrity, and total lack of professionalism. Mail was never found, but these clowns pointed fingers everywhere. She called me, spent time on the phone to listen to my situation, and then went above and beyond to write an email to the Postmaster in another town so that I could pick up a package with precious contents over there. I know it can be hard, telling people the rules of postage with a smile. Often we come in to the post office and don't have everything we need or weren't educated around the proper route to complete our tasks for the day. When this happens, we tend to be snappy and irritable towards post office staff. I just want to put it out there that this team does their best and cares very much. Trish especially went out of her way for me to ensure I got a very important package before having to leave town. I was concerned about it sitting in the post office, or being returned while I was traveling. Not only did she assist me with a plan. A community member ALWAYS sends cards to a person in another state from Chico with $3.89 postage due. Why isn't this post office returning the card to sender marked insufficient postage, which is what usually happens? Very dissatisfied! HATE their parking lot. They have so many spots open for supervisors and employees park on the left side of the building. There are hardly any on the right and I have to go for work on the daily. The employees are so rude and numb and overall just a terrible place. read more

Absolute best staff, Tricia was super helpful, and on it, she guided me above average with my lost package info, as well as even printed out a photo copy of the package itself, with a stamp and notes on the carrier/ info. I just got a notice in my apartment mailbox that a signature is required on a letter and it was their first attempt. I have a security camera at my front door. They never even attempted to go to the door and get a signature if you just go to the community mailbox, it is for like 20 apartments, how are you going to get a signature if you don't go to the front door of the apartment? Crappy service. It should be a notice just saying go to the post office and pick it up because we won't go to your door. read more

Kudos should be given where kudos are deserved. I went in to the Vallambrosa USPS branch to request a refund for a mailpiece that was mailed to the wrong country (and three months later was returned to me, only after I filed a missing mail investigation). Tricia, the branch manager/supervisor, quickly took over, was super patient and understanding, and processed the refund expertly. 100% customer-oriented service. Same visit my hubby wanted to mail something Priority Mail, but we used the wrong Priority Mail packaging TWICE (d'oh: we didn't choose the Flat Rate box, which cost $10 less). By this time, it was after closing on a Saturday, so we were ready to leave and come back the following week, but Tricia and our clerk David insisted that they would wait for us to re-pack it the third time, so that we could save money and also get it in the mail that day. I'm telling you, their kindness and customer service really touched me (especially now, when there are so many stressors and reasons for people to not be on their best behavior...) And, of course there are some bad apples -- I empathize with the less-than-stellar experiences some Yelpers describe here. But if you get Tricia, David, Adrian, or Caitlin, you're likely to have a good experience. Thank you postal workers! Know that your customers appreciate you! read more

Can be very busy, but the workers are helpful. They can do passports here, but only by appointment. Supplies are always stocked and they have self service machines if the line is too long. Other then that, not much you can say about a post office. read more

My go to post office in Chico is the one on Vallombrosa Ave. due to the exemplary service I always receive from my favorite post office employee Joy. Joy goes above and beyond her duties to make sure that my experience at the post office is always a pleasant and positive one. In her professional, caring and compassionate manner, she also makes sure that whatever service I am requesting, I understand all about the process and the final solution. From Joy I am always greeted with the friendliest of salutations and a beautiful smile that always brings, and her name says it, Joy to every transaction that she does. You are very lucky to have an employee with such high standards to represent the USPS. I got myself in quite a pickle when I had accidentally sent the sender of my package the wrong ZIP Code. My package ended up being sent to Chico instead of Sacramento. Unfortunately when I got to the Chico post office my package was there but had not been processed yet and I probably would have to make another 2 Hour Dr. on Monday. Thankfully, the postal worker Trish was there to save the day! She was really kind and went above and beyond to find my package for me. I've been using this post office and just want to say the clerks are always very helpful and easy to work with. However, I recently had an issue with several packages that all were shipped on the same day and somehow got lost in transit. This is not this post office's fault, however, their supervisor (I think his name is Ben) gave me misinformation which I passed on to the people waiting on the packages. He lied to my face about the status of the packages, saying they arrived at the destination city even though they haven't. I would rather be told the truth than given lip service. This is incredibly unprofessional to do. Again, the clerks are always helpful and kind, but this is really bad business from the supervisor. read more

Im leaving this review here. When and if my package is finally delivered i will change this but i had a prescription arrive at the post office on January 2nd expected to be delivered requiring signature by 6:45pm on jan 3rd 2022. The mailman delivered a notice to my parcel mailbox about delivery attempt no recipient available at 6:15pm. Did not even attempt to deliver to my house. I scheduled an in person pickup for jan 4th and when i showed up they could not find it in the branch and told me it was still on a truck... now usps cant locate my package which contains pharmaceutical products from my dr and when i called them at 1pm on jan 3rd they said it was still lost and ensured me that pharmaceutical theft of my mail by an employee was a far fetched speculation but then also said packages get lost all the time. I still feel my prescription was stolen by an employee and until i finally have it in my hands and signed for i cant ensure my peace of mind. read more

I had a really weird early text saying they could not deliver my package due to my location being unsecured. I thought it was weird since it was hours before the mail route usually comes to my house. I went in to talk and they helped resolve it quickly and efficiently. It was definitely a computer error and they followed up fast with locating my package. I also noticed people who brought the wrong carrier to USPS actually recieved advice and directions for the best place to go to ship. read more

If I could give them a 0/5 review I would. Every single time I go in to send something off they make me cry or talk to me like I'm stupid. They have no clue what customer service is. Every person I've made conversation with has been rude to me. They couldn't even give me a piece of tape to tape my package up. ONE PIECE OF TAPE. I am seriously convinced that in order to get a job working at this post office you have to pass a test to make sure you're rude. The people working were all incredibly rude and passive with customers. When it was my turn the women helping me kept interrupting me and saying "I'll answer that when we get there" in a very rude and stuck up way. I was also interested in buying stamps and above them was a poster with new stamps and I asked if I could purchase the cowboy looking one and immediately responded "no" in an aggressive way and when I gave her a questioning look she scoffed and said "we don't even have them in so no" . She also called after someone without a mask and said "next time wear a mask there required" and looked right at me because I wasn't wearing a mask also. Keep in mind almost every customer in there wasn't wearing one. I understand masks are required and so I put mine on but after she called out loud after the customer an employee comes out of the back NOT WEARING A MASK to talk to her and she didn't say anything?? So customers are being enforced and scolded for not wearing them but your own employees don't have to follow ?? read more

Absolutely horrible service on my route. We have lived here two years now. Half the time our mail ends up in our neighbors box and theirs in ours. When we have a package coming 80% of the time it does get left where we have instructed based in the "special delivery card" we have filled (3x) that is in file. And don't get me started on IF that package needs a signature because 100% of the time they do not even knock on the door and when tracking it online they put "receipiant not available". Happened again today. Tried calling the office before they closed and of course the phone was not answered. So i went to the office and luckily spoke to a carrier who said they would put a note on my address so i can pick up my package tomorrow. So we will see. So tired of hearing from them that "it must be a substitute carrier" on our route. So this will be my 7th or 8th time going into the office to try and figure out why they CANNOT seem to do their jobs. And on a side note. Can anyone explain to me why when we mail something here in Chico to another address here in Chico, that it must go to Sacramento then come back to Chico for delivery? Seems kinda odd to me read more
