I honestly had a great experience at this USPS location. I don't know what the fuss is about other reviews complaining "long lines", "needs more folks to work at the window", "need pressure washers to clean the outside".. I mean, doesn't this folks know that USPS is hiring? They can honestly apply to help our community assist with the line to keep moving or otherwise use other USPS location if the line is such a big deal or even better avoid coming during the peak times during lunch break or after work where it tends to get more busier and that's where everyone tends to complain about long lines. LOL! And honestly about the pressure washer review from Nicholas J, he could've rent it and clean the bird feces himself if it bothered him that much or write a complaint to the city of Chico. USPS only handle mail inside the facility and ensure inside the facility is presentable to the public and well stocked in USPS supplies, anything outdoors the city does it! SMH. I've seen from other USPS locations, the USPS employees doesn't power washes the front, I saw a City Entity Cleaning it paid by the city and not USPS. LMAO! Pros: -Clean and tidy, USPS Supplies are always in stock. -Great service. Great People. For great prices on shipping domestically as opposed to other competitors (FEDEX, DHL, or UPS). Cons: -None, other than no free-parking at least 20-30min would be nice when using the Post Office during peak times only between 12pm-1pm and from 4pm-5pm, but I understand that the USPS doesn't have the control of parking meter on pricing. If someone is going to complain about parking, they need to take that complain to the city itself. LOL! Everyone's reviews is pretty bias and self entitled 'Karen' or 'Ken' who loves to complain. Be grateful that prices to ship is cheaper than other competitors. Let thank sink in for brief moment! Food for thought to the reviewers: Also, if you want the line to go faster. Always pre-pay your stuff online at usps.com or at pirateship.com, and bring your paid priority/express letter/parcels and do a drop off at any usps location. Which is what I've been doing, and I've been in and out of the post office in 1Min. or less. If every customer does this way, the line of 18 people will move so much faster (1min/person) as oppose than waiting about 5-10min per person doing the manual way. They made a mistake and locked my box after I paid the yearly fee (on time). I was away for two weeks and when I returned and got the box unlocked, there was only a couple of pieces of mail there (normally it would be stuffed by then). I went to the desk to inquire about it, and the rude girl went to the back to check, then came back and told me that was all there was. So I know they discarded about two weeks of my mail - and this is for my medical business. No accountability. Over the twelve years I've had a box there, they've been difficult to deal with, mostly because of being rude and unpleasant, and not addressing issues well. For a long time my combo box did not open easily, and I'd usually end up having to wait in line at the front desk to get them to open it. I always tried to be pleasant and kind, and they would always act like it was my fault, and a major inconvenience for them. At some point a couple of years ago, they fixed the box, and changed the workers at the front desk, and things were nicer for awhile. But it seems like they've backslid to where they were before. read more

I stopped in to mail a letter that i wanted tracked. there wasn't much of a line. the postal clerk eventually warned up, and i accomplished my task. The services was very good, the costs were better than fedex. . Parking is street only, no lot, and 50 cents for 30 minutes. read more

They can't seem to get the address to anything right, don't get your passport from here. They're also incapable of changing an address but their affiliate promotion partner companies can somehow send mail to your new address. read more

So, when you break your iphone, apple allows to send a replacement. But, you must ship back your broken phone or you will be charged the entire amount of the phone. I did my return shipment and the package was either LOST , or STOLEN. I talked to the lady multiple times and she says "oh it has to have got there, if not check in a few days". IT WAS NEVER EVEN SCANNED , on my end. I was charged 1k, plus still have to pay for my current one. Please avoid this place at all cost. read more

We are inside the passport side of this post office. We had a line of 18 people and counting. The gentleman that is working was great don't get me wrong. However if they had more then o e person working the line would not take hours to get through. Hire more people to help drive your business. read more

I was looking up places to send out a package because I know some places can really jip you pricing wise. I looked up this place (closest and most convenient to me) and the reviews were awful. I contemplated going elsewhere but decided to try my luck. I'm so glad I did. The employee I worked with had me in and out in 2 minutes, but struck up conversation while processing things and made my day. Very kind and excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable. I wanted to write this because I know many people are quick to write bad reviews after a bad experience but not necessarily when things go well. So 10/10. Maybe it's because it was a Tuesday midday, but it took me 2 minutes so come over your lunch break! read more

First of all, Yelp has the address wrong - it's on 5th STREET, not Ave. If you know Chico, you know how effed you can get if you don't pay attention to that little detail in your directions. But I digress. This is a classic, old-school mausoleum of mail. You know, the kind with echoing marble floors and lovely tall pillars? Built in 1914, I believe. Totally classy; dark and cool in the blinding Chico heat. A real sanctuary. The dude behind the counter yesterday just totally rocked. He cheerfully greeted me (and my kids - something that always endears me) as soon as we walked in the door. He offered my 4 year old a stamp on her hand (Air Mail!), and was just generally charming. I would go back again just to have the pleasure of interacting with that postman. There are free 10-minute spots on both sides of 5th Street for Post Office customers, but we are quickly making the habit of filling up one of the 2 hour meters and crossing the street to City Plaza for a little splash in the kid-friendly fountains after our errands are done! read more

I have gone to this post office several times and I have had great experiences with the female workers there, but have had only horrible experiences with the man that works there. He is incredibly rude - to the point where he actually shakes his head at customers when they ask questions that he thinks are stupid and says "God people!" out loud. He is beyond disrespectful and makes many customers in line feel uncomfortable. There are so many people out of work and looking for jobs and it is sad that someone so rude and inconsiderate is still employed and works with people in public. But thumbs up to the ladies! They're the only reason I return. I will actually wait until one of them is free to help instead of having to even deal with him. read more
