Was told that i was not allowed to mail package because my label needed to have my return address above the destination address (my label had a giant "TO: destination address" followed by a small "from: my address"). This is hands down the WORST post office I've ever experienced. There's ALWAYS a line and the workers are beyond slow! Horrible. Every time I try to go in here (no matter the time of day) it's packed and there's only two people behind the desk. Then, I'm next in line and one person closes. Come on, dude, you see the line going OUT the door, why are you closing?! Another time, my packages got sent back to the post office because I wasn't home to receive them - no big deal - so I go down to get them. 25 minutes later it's FINALLY my turn at the little door where you pick your items up, and everyone walks away and is ignoring me, walking right past the window and not even looking at me. I assumed they were busy so I was trying to be patient, but after about another 10 minutes I finally caught someone walking by (who was trying to avoid it at all costs) and asked if someone wanted to get my packages or if I was just going to have to walk back and get it myself. They said "oh, I thought you were being helped" and took my paper and literally picked up my package within 10 seconds. It's frustrating that that's where my tax dollars are going - to people who couldn't take 10 seconds out of their WORK schedule to do what they are supposed to be doing. No nonsense. They mailed what I needed and they were professional and courteous. Lines are long sometimes, but that's normal.

Blah. Ugh. I wasn't sure what word to use to describe this post office. It's a mess! It makes the San Lorenzo one seem like a jewel in the rough! Every time I went here when I lived in CV- over the course of 5 years, I would regret it the moment I pulled into the parking lot- oh wait, that is, on the days I MADE it the parking lot!!!! Most days, making it into the lot is a lost cause. If you see a spot on the street I would grab it if I were you. One time, some psycho lady in a Ford Expedition decided she wanted a spot, didn't look behind here (where I was) and threw the car into reverse, guess she was so much more important than me, huh? Anyways thankfully for her she realized it after the car was in reverse, but instead threw it into park and proceeded to get out and tell at me??!!!! Really, look get stay at yoga pant wearing stay at home mom, don't blame your lack of driving skills on me! I know it's not the post office's fault that psychos come in, but it always makes matters worst when you finally did make it in that the line was nearly out the door with only 1 employee at the counter. :( When I went there to grab a change of address form- they were confused and I had to show them which one was the one I needed! If the post office gods would just let you do it online for FREE then I wouldn't have even had to bother you. No they feel the need to CHARGE you, however, avoid this like I did by coming in! I used this post office repeatedly when I had work offices in this area, and have found it to be great. There are lines at peak times, but other than that, which they have little control over, I have no complaints. In my experiences, all staff were polite, hard working and very competent. I receive a number of "Priority" packages for work, and the very few that did not arrive as expected were not the carrier's fault (typos in the address, etc.), and a trip to this post office would clear things up, either immediately or with a quick return phone call. read more

But i was in line yesterday afternoon to pick up a package for my wife. i had my ID with matching last names, but the filipina lady( i don't know her name) stated it's not good enough. She said that she would have to come in personally to pick up package. She's sick right now, so can't pick it up till she's better. I know standard procedure allows another to person to pick up in case original person can't. She failed to mention that I can bring photocopy of ID or copy of her ID if I were to pick up for her. The amount of confusion there is here at this location is very frustrating. Receiving multiple different answers from managers and employees for the same question can be very irritating. I have had many problems from this USPS location and never from any other ones. First off they damaged a painting but luckily it was insured. Very careless with packages. Looked like they stepped THROUGH the package because it was torn beyond repair through the front all the way out the back. Second there is a middle aged Indian woman with long hair who is the manager. She will OVERCHARGE you for stamps by approx 2 dollars and give a lame excuse why you do not pay for the value of just the stamps. No other USPS does that and I purposely went to buy the exact same stamps at another location and they did not do that. Also she will force you to buy separate money orders after 500 dollars. And no other location will do that. Hayward did not make me do that. With the stamps alone she is clearly pocketing the extra dollars and making a nice profit for herself to the sum of probably 200 to 500 per day just by jipping everyone and overcharging 1 to 2 dollars. This location is under very bad management. I go to Hayward from now on. Parking is much better anyway. Everything about CV USPS is a mess from parking lot set up to the shady manager. read more

We have needed our mail to be held at the Post Office here and our daughters pick it up every thirty days. The woman who allows us to do this is most helpful and understanding. My sister and I used to go to this post office to mail packages with delicate products in the boxes since we own a little business and mail them to our customers. The first time we went there, we went up to the desk and gave this lady employee our packages so she could hand them to her coworkers to put them into the bins. When we gave her the packages, she'd proceed to chuck the packages in the bin or toss them on the floor. Keep in mind that there were very fragile products that could easily break and there was even "FRAGILE" written all over the packages. My sister or I would say "Oh, no no no, please don't do that there's stuff in there that could break," very nicely hoping she'd listen but instead ignored us or told us "it was ok" and kept throwing/chucking them. My sister and I would go there 8-10 more times always hoping we didn't get her again, but we'd always get her on and off to the point where it was too much so we stopped going there. read more

My review is more about the mail carriers that work out of this post office than the facility itself, although some of the problem may be there too. Yesterday, for the third time, I used online tracking for a package I was expecting and the USPS website said it was in my mailbox when it was not. Each time this has happened I didn't just not get the package, I got no mail that day at all. One time I got no mail for two days in a row. For some people that may not be strange, but in addition to our home mail, we have a home based office as well. Normally we get something every single day, even if it's just junk mail and/or catalogs, so to not get a single piece of mail is very odd. The first time this happened, my package showed up the day AFTER they claimed they'd delivered it, and the second time I was at home when I got the tracking email that my package was in my mailbox. I went outside, mailbox was empty. I thought maybe it had been delivered to one of my neighbors houses instead, so I started walking down the street to check. I spotted the truck down a side street and ran over to talk to the carrier. He said he hadn't even delivered to my block yet and had no explanation as to why my package had been scanned as delivered. He found it on the truck and handed it to me after I pressed the issue. And yesterday, my next door neighbor didn't get mail either - when I got home from work at 5 I checked our box and noticed that the flag was up on their box, which is mounted on the same pole as ours. I left for the gym at 5:50, and when I got back at 7:40 our box was empty, their flag was still up, and they had several pieces of outgoing mail still left in their box. I went online, and USPS said they delivered my package at 5:55 PM, which was 5 minutes after I left. If that were the case, I would have seen the truck on my street, which I did not. I expect the carrier just went back to the post office without bothering to deliver mail on my street. AGAIN. And of course the phone is always busy when I try to call. read more

THE YOUNG LADY LETTER CARRIER AT MY HOUSE IS WONDERFUL. A+ However this is directed to the PO facility on Santa Maria. About 50% of the counter personnel act like zombies when waiting on you. The other 50% of the staff is ok... when they are there. Lines are mostly long. Rarely do they ask if anyone has a pick up or drop off. Terrible! Worst post office ever! No one ever answers the phone, doesn't respond to re-delivery requests made online, doesn't ring the door bell when attempting to deliver a package that requires a signature and doesn't bother to leave a notice. How am I supposed to know you tried delivering a package if you don't leave a notice? Also when you "supposedly" tried delivering the package why didn't the carrier ring the door bell? There were at least 4 people at the house when they "claimed" they tried to deliver. Tried calling USPS for additional assistance but the wait time is always at least 30 minutes. I'm at work, I can't be on hold for 30 minutes. Furthermore I cannot leave my work early just to drive to the post office which closes at 5pm. Absolutely the worst post office I have ever encountered. I hope this place gets closed because the staff are horrible and liars on top of it. They deserve to lose their jobs because they don't do their jobs to begin with. My postal carrier (whom I have never met b/c I live in a condo complex with a post box) decided to take it upon herself to cancel my mail service. I have lived at the same address for several years and have been receiving mail the whole time. That is until about 2 months ago when my mail stopped being delivered for no reason. My pay stubs got returned to our corporate office and then sent to me through internal mail so I was able to see a "Moved Left No Address. Return to Sender." yellow sticker on the front. Let me be crystal clear, I haven't moved I still live there and have not so much as requested a mail hold. This B!t@h cancelled my mail!!!!! I have been trying to get this resolved for 2 months. In that time I have been to the post office in person 4 times and have called countless times. I was assured every time that there were no issues with my address. At no point did anyone tell me that my mail delivery lady put in the paper work to cancel my service. I have tried to reach the delivery supervisor, Ms. Neff, but it seems she never works. She isn't in the office, she leaves early and she goes on vacation without telling anyone. I know this because when I came into the office on Saturday 9/7/13 I was finally informed she was who I needed to talk to and would be at work on Monday from 6am to 3pm. I called Monday at 1pm and was informed that she had left early "to take care of some stuff' and would be at work on Tuesday from 6am to 3pm. So I called today (Tuesday) at 11am and was informed that she is on vacation until next Monday. Of course she is. So when I called today in my 3rd attempt this week to speak with Ms. (Never-There) Neff, Junior, a supervisor of something, finally disclosed that my mail delivery lady had submitted all the paperwork to cancel my mail service. 2 months to get that information which has been available to everyone in that office but apparently when they went to "check" my address for issues they just walked to the back and stared at a wall. I suppose Junior accidentally told the truth because no one else there has. Anyways this Junior assured me that he would "put in the paperwork to cancel the cancelled service". I told him I would wait on the line while he did so. Oh no no no it isn't something that can be done online but he has to "send in" the paperwork to cancel the cancel and he doesn't know how long it will take. I told him I would wait while he filled it out (since I don't believe anything that comes out of these employees mouths anymore) but he said he couldn't do that. I told him I will check back in with you. I am going to call again this afternoon, tomorrow, the next day and so on to see how many more lies they can tell me. I hate this place. Liars and losers. If I could give negative 5 stars I would. My daughter has the unfortunate instance of having a birthday on Dec 22nd, so I reluctantly ended up in the P.O. to mail a package to her today. While packaging up the box I realized we were out of packing tape, so my husband says "Just go there, go to the front and ask to borrow some of theirs." So I head over and walk in, there's 3 people ahead of me, and I go up and ask if I can borrow their tape. The man very rudely says to me "You buy" and points at a section that has tape. I said I only need like 3 pieces, and he just repeats himself then dismisses me with a wave of his hand. A wave! So I loudly say "Ok, I'll buy" and go get the tape off the rack. I then sit in line and start working on taping my box up. It's my turn and I couldn't get the darn tape to come off in one clean piece, so I say "I am going to move over there and finish this" and I move aside to finish. I finish taping my box and set the tape on top so I can buy it and when I go to walk up next the man says "You have to go to end of line." Me: What? Man: Go to end of line. You wait in line. Me: I waited in line. Remember? I just needed to tape my box. Man: No! End of line! So I look and I sh^# you not, the line was out the door at this point. Instead of arguing, though, I go to the end of the darn line. Now, I am sure some will say I should have been better prepared. I did take the advice of my husband that they would let me use their tape. But, to make me go to the end of the line over some tape? Oh and while I was there there were about 4 people asking if they could pick up packages ("No one here to pick up, sorry!"), and one asking to speak with a supervisor ("You go, he not here!") and one poor girl asking why her package seemed to be stuck there at their office for 4 days and the man telling her "Can't do anything for you. You go home." Yeah. So...for the person who said "Nicest staff on earth work here" must never be around people who actually have people skills, have *somewhat* of a grasp on the English language and are somewhat polite. For a service that is rapidly declining in usage, you'd think they'd be a bit more polite to people at good old USPS. read more
