It's a strange departure from all the buildings in this town. Too modern for my taste. But it is a business facility, not a touristy one. Personnel are great and it's incredibly convenient. It is truly humbling to ask someone to follow the rules and have them basically spit in your face by saying that I should just pick up their trash. People do leave their trash their all the time, and when I was working it was 6 days a week, 12 hours a day it was hard to pickup other people's messes at the end of the day. In our recycling bin I'd find vodka bottles, soda cans would be left outside, even icecream wrappers and half filled mocha drinks would mix into the paper. After working that hard for people it was really frustrating to just be expected to pickup trash. It's not in my job description but of course I want to try and make the post office look nice. Amber, I just wanted to answer your review. I was very plain and actually really shy about asking you to "please take your trash home". I was afraid of you, but did my best to stand my ground the way the post office teaches you not to. I worked there for 7 months and you were by far my worst interaction with a customer. You didn't even want to take it and raised your voice at me. YOU were the one scolding me. I actually cried after our interaction because YOU were so callous and rude. The price has gone up slightly over the years, but nothing too crazy. Some people may scoff at having a P.O. Box, but there are so many positive things about having one. 1) No one ever steals my mail or packages, 2) I never have to worry about changing my address if I move, and 3) It is convenient for travel. I chose this specific location for my P.O. Box because I was a student when I first got it. However, it is still very convenient even after graduating. I only visit the office a few times a year--typically to pick up an oversized package or mail Christmas cards. I know many people would rank the post office right up there with the DMV as "places I'd rather not be." I actually enjoy when I have business at the post office.
