After decades of firsthand experience with the Postal Service, including my time working at the Carmichael Post Office 40 years ago, I can confidently say the standards have eroded beyond recognition. The Camino branch is a prime example. The mail service here is wildly inconsistent. Packages go missing or are misdelivered, and I routinely receive my neighbors' mail. Rather than trusting the system to correct itself, I hand deliver it, because if they got it wrong once, chances are they'll mess it up again. That's not a fluke, it's a pattern. The root of the problem seems systemic. The federal government underpays postal workers, attracting only the desperate, and unfortunately, it shows. The postmaster at Camino avoids direct accountability, leaving clerks to absorb the frustration of customers. That's not leadership, it's cowardice. I receive a high volume of packages from Amazon, and in over a decade, neither UPS nor FedEx has lost a single one. USPS, on the other hand, struggles to match that reliability, despite handling similar volume. The contrast is stark and telling. I continue to use USPS only because of its support for veteran employment, a cause I respect deeply. But that's the only redeeming factor. If you need something delivered correctly and on time, choose FedEx or UPS, USPS is a gamble, and too often, it's a losing one. read more

So irritating when you order a paddle board and the email said they tried to deliver it but my mailbox was full.... Saturday and Sunday.. Um yeah, there never was a "tried to deliver it" or you would know that is a huge fricken box! Now I can not get it till tomorrow (Tuesday)!! AWESOME I wanted to go paddle boarding yesterday. when I received the email saying that there was a "try" I went driving around all of Camino looking for a UPS or a mail truck only to do it again the following day only to find that my package is not with the mailman today, and he said that it's sitting in the office with the boss .. Had you at least left a note at the 11:15 first supposed attempt to drop off time with the mailbox being full, had there been a note left in my mailbox I could have received my package from your Office Saturday in Camino before the holiday closure! So lame. And don't lie it's ugly. read more

This post office has delivered my packages to the wrong house like 5-6 times. I was expecting a package yesterday from Amazon and it says delivered but it's not at my house. I'm guessing the driver took it to the wrong house once again! super frustrating! how hard is it to look at the delivery address?? I've already called the post office and complained and it still is happening. Not impressed with this post office at all! read more

We live in the foothills where rain, slush and yes even snow is known to happen - does that mean all mail should be held/un-delivered until a very clear sunny day when the roads have zero moisture on them? Apparently this post office location thinks so ... our roads have been CLEAR and hazard free for over a week, yet for the past several days we get notifications that items could not be delivered and other arrangements need to be made. I would understand now and again having a driver who's new to the area question where they were going, but this happens repeatedly, in addition to our parcels being delivered in various, very random locations, from the mailbox, to along our driveway, to at the garage, on the stairs, and at two of the doors at our house. Annoying, and very unprofessional. If I could choose not to use our USPS office, I would. On a side note - the people who work behind the counter are always pleasant and prompt. read more

Post Master on his own decided not to deliver mail to our apartment complex on Pony express Trail Camino, CA. without notification to any of the residents. Seems a motorcycle ran over our old mail boxes. new boxes were put up 3 fee further in so he ordered the Postal Carrier to no longer deliver mail here. He neglected to tell any of his customers he was no longer delivering any mail to our address. The word now is he is moving our mail boxes to Snowline Drive out of safety concerns. We don't live on Snowline Drive. Any advice on who I should contact regarding this situation please write a comment. read more

I lost count how many times I have had to drive to this specific post office because they will not deliver a package into my mailbox OR drive up my drive way. There has been so many excuses. "Package wouldn't fit" and I get there and it is a small package that most certainly could fit in our oversized mailbox. I have had multiple overnight packages delayed because their carrier is too lazy to do their job. Today they said our gate was closed when I specifically left it open for this time sensitive package. I had to leave work early to pick up this package because it's a holiday weekend and they are closed Saturday and Monday. It's 4:00. Just picked up my package which means the carrier came back early. Like I said, lazy. Forget calling. They will make you stay on the line for 25 minutes for nothing. Horrible post office. Hate it. They do the bare minimum. Awful service. I have no idea why my sh*t just can't be sent to the Placerville location. read more
