I have been a resident of Brea for 20 years. This post office has the most unprofessional staff EVER at the front. There's an Asian lady who never smiles and if you ask her a question she doesn't acknowledge you and just repeats what she says. The other day I asked about a box and instead of telling me where it is she points to a general direction and yells NEXT for the next person. She's been there too long and needs to go. There's another old lady with giant frizzy hair who acts like you've slapped her mama and she has it out for you. So rude and unhelpful. And one of the rudest (he used to be nice but I think he's been there too long that he doesn't realize he's a service provider to the public) ones is the guy with the 72 rings and goatee. This place is like a mortuary. If you hate your jobs so much, go away. We don't need to deal with your terrible personality, rude behavior, and unprofessional attitudes. The saving grace at the front is Carly who is kind and always has a pleasant demeanor and warm smile. Perhaps the rest of these rude people can learn something from her. Shame on the 3 of you for treating your customers who pay for your jobs with such disrespect. read more

I went to renew my passport and it was a great experience. I did all my paperwork online and printed it out. Bring a check to send to dept of state. Brea post office organized the paperwork, put it in an envelope. They even take and print the passport photo there. Entire process took 20 minutes and that's with a 10 minute wait. Supervisor was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for quick passport processing. Total cost about $20 for photos and priority mail. read more

I called regarding a package missing a unit number for shipment. I actually have the actual tracking number for the item. The male rep from this branch was unhelpful, condescending and rude. "In the future you should make sure they update the address" and told me to call back once they mark the package as "undeliverable" Our address was correct, just missing a unit number. I avoid the USPS with my shipment needs because of people like this. read more

It's clear why this USPS has such a bad rating. NEVER deal with a Vietnamese woman by the name of "Vivian." She is the absolute worst! The last 3 times I've gone in there, she has been extremely disrespectful and went to the extent of berating me for details I was unaware of. Newsflash, lady: You work at the post office, I do not. Therefor, if I do not have knowledge over certain shipping information, it is your job to help me as a customer, not insult me for it. Always in and out pretty quickly, gotta love that. Line moves quick but be sure to grab a # as soon as you walk in the door (last time they called my # before I had even finished completing my info on the mailer). They have all kinds of shipping supplies avail in the office (boxes, bubble wrap, mailers etc. and they will even help tape a box closed for you at the counter if you ask). Also, the staff knows what they are doing and they are pretty friendly too. :) read more

Brea Postal Service sucks. They regularly deliver our neighbor down the street's mail to our house. Which makes me wonder if our mail goes to someone else's house. They lost our passports in the mail twice. The passport service confirmed they were shipped out. They never arrived. I checked with the postal office to see if there's any type of reason they could be undeliverable and they were wholey unhelpful. The Consulant received the passports back because the postal service said they were undeliverable for whatever reason. Consulant resends them, postal service loses them again. And they show up back at the Consulant's office. They send them a 3rd time and they finally arrive. They also lost my husband's Certificate of Naturalization, which is $500 to replace and puts his identity at risk of theft. When I was in the actual post office, the employees look unprofessional. And they are lazy, cold and unhelpful. When it rains, my mail always arrives sopping wet. I can understand a little water spots but not soaking wet. And it's not because of my mailbox. Like another reviewer mentioned, this is why the USPS deserves to go out of business. read more

I go to the post office because it has long hours. There is usually a small line but nothing horrible. Please pull a number upon entrance. Many people do not realize this and wait needlessly. The line moves quickly. Most of the clerks are friendly and helpful. One can be a jerk. I won't tell you which one. Make a game out of it and listen for the jerk. read more

I always expect the worse at the Post Office. There was a line of about 8 people at 10:30am, but it moved pretty quickly and all of the workers at the desk were fast and at least somewhat friendly. Also a substantial selection of envelopes and mailing containers when you walk in. Greeting cards sold as well. Overall, not a terrible experience. I don't know about you but any time I have to deal with a government entity (post office, DMV, etc...) I pretty much already have my dukes up expecting an inept, unhappy soul who hates their job. But wow, did the Brea Post Office change my cynical view! My husband apparently ordered a tool from Sears that had to be sent to us. After a series of mis-shipments, it ended up being addressed to the Brea Post Office (there were multiple shipping labels from other couriers so not sure what happened there). We ultimately received a padded envelope with a return address from the Brea Post Office. I opened it up and there was a little note that read: David, this was addressed to the Brea Post Office, as you can see by the label. We opened it and saw the packing slip inside which had your name on it, in which we re-sealed it and forwarded it you. Brea Post Office. How awesome is that!? No extra postage, no call making us come down to get it, no return to sender because that would be easier. Thank you Brea Post Office! You really stepped up with outstanding service. I hope you aren't creating too high of expectations that will leave me disappointed by everyone else. read more

I recently moved to Brea and went in to purchase a key to my mailbox for my apartment complex. I was told 3-5 business days and to be sure it's made come in the following week. 21 days later- no key yet! I've gone in several times as I can not retrieve my mail and twice spoke with a supervisor that offers no help but tries to place fault on an outsourced contractor saying they might have a "special project". As far as customer service, supervisors and managers are very rude!! read more

I usually ninja my way into this mofo late at night to use their Automated Postal Center (APC). It sure beats standing in line to mail a package during the day, that's for sure. I'm in an out in a matter of minutes (which is for the best, since I'm usually rocking my pajamas and house slippers; yes, I roll out in public like that). Sometimes well laid plans can be thwarted, though. I've been in a few times where there's actually a line of people waiting to use the APC...and just my luck, I end up stuck behind someone who is elderly and/or technologically illiterate. Other times the APC itself will be down for maintenance. I've also encountered a couple instances where some genius has tried to throw a massive package into the receptacle and ends up jamming the door so that I can't put my package in after I've already slapped postage on it. *GRUMBLE* Bottom line: The APC is generally the way to go, but if it's a super important package that needs to go out ASAP, perhaps you should suck it up and go during normal business hours to make sure it ends up in the hands of a living, breathing human being. With all the potential snags you can run into, it might not be worth taking that chance. Also, this post office had the right idea with their lobby. You walk in, take a number, and if you can find a spot, sit down on little park benches until they call you up. Sure beats standing in line! read more

Very disappointed: I sent my taxes from Honolulu to my Brea Accountant via PRIORITY CERTIFIED mail. Brea post office LOST IT. They say they delivered it 2 days after I sent it but my accountant NEVER received it. the carrier noted "C-19" without initialing it so the carrier, to date, is unknown and my info, my W2, SS#, employment info... EVERYTHING IS MISSING thanks to the BREA USPS despite my sending it priority and certified. Incredible incompetence, even in a pandemic. DO NOT SEND IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS VIA USPS given this is how they treat priority, certified mail in Brea, Calif. The manager, initially promising to track it down, disappeared, disconnected his phone number so I have no access to him now, and no recourse. No integrity whatsoever. My info is out there somewhere, Brea USPS has made me very vulnerable. It's unacceptable, intolerable and needs to be rectified immediately. The USPS in Brea was difficult for me to assign a rating to. On one hand, in my ten years of patronizing them, I have experienced several major issues that are the direct fault of their staff in charge of maintaining their PO Box operations. However, on the other hand, the team handling the retail side (who also trouble shoots any issues you may have and ironically fixes any PO Box issues, consistently provides excellent service in fixing such issues promptly). These days, most people have set. Low standard for places like the DMV and the USPS. I can say I fall into that category of expecting very little. Unfortunately, in the past year I have an important package if customized event items go missing the day before the event, my PO box mistakenly closed twice, and was given at $5,000 check that was intended for a completely different box, to name a few. Definitely not small mistakes and all caused me a great deal of time to resolve. In all fairness though, I must say the hard work and caring attitudes of the front of the house staff deserves five stars. They are diligent in solving problems, and if your problem cannot be solved same day, you can count on them to follow up with you on the phone next day as promised. The team here has not turned over in many years, which means you can always count on seeing the same friendly faces. They are also there to help with your other shipping and passport needs. Did I mention getting a new or renewing your passport at this location is extremely easy and fast. Overall, I continue coming to this location because the staff makes up for the mishaps occurring behind the scenes. Give them a try but perhaps consider an alternative location if you need to open a new PO Box. read more

Total garbage. Don't have anything of value shipped via USPS. I've lost hundreds of dollars in merchandise that was shipped via usps. And the clerks will tell you that you lied or it really was delivered. Example 1 - I have the USPS app (they told me that's someone else and not them, different people) and it stated that my package was personally picked up by someone in the morning. I visited them a couple hours after being notified that it was picked up. My business is closed and secured by a gated entrance. I told them that I check the mail box as well and no notice to pick up package. So I asked them how does one pick up a package besides myself if nobody even knows it's ready to be picked up. They said not to have it delivered to the company. Especially if I don't own the company. I asked her what does that have anything to do with someone else picking up my package that nobody knew was here besides myself. Her reply was "have it delivered to your house". Now mind you I've lost several packages that we're supposedly picked up by someone besides myself and I never saw them. So anyways, I told her I don't have mail delivered to me BREA HOME because the same thing happens. (See example 2) She replied that they have it still and the carrier will redeliver. I asked again why does the tracking number come up with "picked up by person from post office" then. She said that's not their tracking number and it's another company that delivers US mail that goes by United States Postal Service. So apparently there's two businesses in Brea that are called United States Postal Service. I've never seen any of my packages that have been delivered this way. Example 2 - I've had two packages on two different occasions that were sent to me, insured with signature confirmation. These two packages never were received. I asked the clerk for the signature of the person who signed for it because they swear that they delivered it. I showed them the video from my security cameras that it never showed up nor my I'm-law who was visiting never saw it yet she got the mail from the postal person delivering. Again, I asked for the signature receipt. Clerk said they don't always get a signature. What's the use of paying for that service if they don't always enforce it. She said it was delivered even through the security cameras show the post woman never had any packages in her hand. Clerk then said maybe it was stolen. So even though the delivery person never had a package, someone was home all day waiting for them and the mail was personally delivered to a family member, it has to be stolen. Yeah, that makes sense. Example 3 - Probably the greatest example of all, every once in a while I'll order fragile items through the Postal Service as the sender won't send it any other way. I ordered a piece of antique China and the sender had completely covered it with "fragile" labels as well as "handle with care" labels on it. I received it and it was broken. I went back to the post office and explained that this item was insured and it is now broken due to lack of respect of peoples property. The manager there at the post office said that if it has "handle with care" on it, that they do just that and they make sure they handle it very delicately. I then showed him the security footage from my cameras that clearly show the delivery person tossing it from 10 feet away to my doorstep, bouncing off the front door. He said it must had been broken before. Never could comment on why the staff throws packages at my stained glass door. Total garbage and they take no responsibility for what they do. Great location with easy parking availability. Lines are typically short, no longer than about 10 minutes. Stamps, boxes and postage services such as registered mail, certified mail are always available. Delivery schedules vary depending on fees charged. There seem to be waiting lists for PO boxes at times. But, patience will win out. Building is full of light and employees are courteous and helpful. Located right next to Brea Mall and shopping on Birch. Great location. read more

The boyfriend and I came here to buy stamps on a Sunday afternoon and bought a booklet of 20 from the touch screen machine. The machine did not dispense the stamps but did give us a receipt for our purchase. My boyfriend came back later that week to report it to the post office and was hoping they would honor his purchase and give him the pack of 20 stamps but the post office was no help. These USPS imbeciles don't know how to decipher between our addresses and our packages are either delivered to the wrong place or sometimes not at all. How does this keep happening after 3 years? The gentlemen who helped me was so helpful and polite, gave great advice for the least expensive way to send all the invites, as well as a recommendation for a festive stamp. I only gave one star because zero stars were not an option. This post office is horrible, absolutely dreadful. The service inside to mail packages or buy stamps is fine, but if you live in Brea and your mail is processed and/or delivered here; you're screwed. My husband and I have lived in an apartment complex in Brea for three years now, and we have complained to the postmaster general at this location at least four times. We have given up complaining on several different issues because they do not do anything about it. Not only are the employees who deliver mail to our complex rude and unprofessional, but I am certain that they have broken the law on more than one occasion. Over the years we have: 1) Received Incorrect Mail 2) Been lied to from the mail carrier. They leave notices in our box saying they tried to knock on our door and give us a package, which they never did. I cannot count how many times this has happened. 3) The carrier has forgotten to leave the key for the package box in our mail box and packages have sat there for days at a time. (The ONE time the person in charge of this office did their job, they made the carrier go back and leave us the key). 4) They have delivered our mail to other residents. Not just one piece of junk mail, entire stacks of mail. 5) We have had a few people try and send us mail and it was returned to them without cause or reason. 6) Our mail carrier has kept pieces of our mail in his or her truck for an undisclosed amount of time, even packages. When asked about it they acted like it was a funny mistake. No, it is against the law to not deliver mail. 7) Did I mention how rude they are? If you merely walk BY the mail room a certain carrier whose name I do not know but will definitely recognize barks at you to back away and not to get near the mail. An unprofessional bitch is what she is. 8) Then there is the tiny slip up from these amazing employees how they lost credit cards, bills, and even a tax return. Oh, they sure do know what they are doing! *eyeroll* These are merely a handful of the faults of this lackluster and pathetic post office. They lack oversight and a fair share of the employees truly do not care about their job and know they are secure in their government position, they should be ashamed. My husband and I are making an effort to look for a house outside the radius of this post office because we refuse to deal with them any longer. I went there to renew my passport today and I found everything I need organized and in right place, employees helped me figure everything out quickly and efficiently . Just had a terrible experience here. I as usual expected the slow wait. But in doing so I felt rushed by the Impatient person behind me so I walked to the next open area of the counter not thinking it was a big deal and was being respectful and the worker named Nancy was extremely rude. She said "I didn't call you" in a demeaning fashion. I was so caught off guard. Very rude. Sorry I didn't want a very impatient customer to push me or even steal my space. Don't come to this post office. Needed some tracking labels for my company as we wait for some to be delivered that we ordered online. So went in to get some to hold me over and get over 100 priority orders out that need this tracking label and they refused to give me FREE labels that are FREE to buy online. I purchased the postage already I just needed the tracking labels to send them out. Sad to say I was told to get my own and I don't think that's right. Don't believe the other reviews I've been dealing with these type of issues with this specific post office for YEARS. They need to hire a whole new crew. read more

The friendliest USPS I've ever had to deal with. Xavier walked around the lobby asking different customers what they were in for and assisted those that he could expeditiously. I was trying to locate a possible misdelivered package and although he wasn't able to locate it, he did take my number, turn my case over to the manager of this location and eventually provide an answer to me. Moved here from Fullerton, never ever have we had such difficulties with delivery service:(Mailmen​) Different mailman every day here​ in Brea. We have a dog that barks, clearly,​ a metal screen door that is locked and impossible​​ to breach​ but for some reason even when the dog is outback​ we still don't get mail delivery. I'm not even sure if this is the reason because of​ our dog, he just barks! I only know that we haven't​ received mail for another stretch​ of three days, yes, we are on "Informed delivery" honestly, what's​ the point, we know we are supposed to get mail, we see it on the website, but if there is a different mailman​ every day, absolutely​ no accountability. If you can't reach anyone to complain or simply ask to get mail serviced then why do they have informed delivery?! If a different mailman​ comes every day they should expect a dog to bark, seriously​, Brea Postal Service needs a better business model. We have the Ring video camera, see every time they pass us and don't come up to deliver mail, also I'm​ home so I can clearly see who the postman or women are​. I understand the Postal Service is a government agency​ and doesn't rely on income, therefore customer service is not a priority. I have never had a worse experience at a post office. I live in Mira Loma and I mainly go to the norco post office, sometimes the Mira Loma post office. I've had questions before and oopsies and was always treated kindly. I work near this post office on Mondays. I usually have prepaid packages so I always try to go to the scanner guy. He was giving two other people stamps and I waited behind them. He walked away when he was finished with them so I just went to stand in line. Once it was my turn, the lady said I had the wrong box because it was flat rate medium priority and I needed a priority box. I was confused and said "But the box says priority?" And she snarkily said "Well I know it's priority." Then she said I needed to change the box but didn't give me the right box or even point me in the right direction. I had to ask someone else. This person was older with bleached blonde hair. I repackaged my packages in the right boxes and the lady had said I could come back up to her, but after waiting again she pointed me to the scanner guy that I was trying to go to in the first place!!! I was on the verge of tears by how rude they were to me. People who work at a post office are supposed to have superior people and customer service skills. This place lacked that entirely. Update 4/4/16 I went back to this post office a couple of times just to drop packages off in the box. This time, I needed tape. At the norco post office I frequent, the tape is out with the boxes. A lady was restocking the boxes. I said "excuse me?" and she didn't look up or acknowledge me. Thinking she didn't hear me, I once again politely said "excuse me?" Without looking up, she said "If this is about mailing a package, talk to the lady in the red." Wow. I said "I actually just wanted to know if the tape is kept behind the counter." She said "Well yes, because you have to buy it" in a rude tone! I know this and even if I didn't she didn't have to speak to me that way. The man at the counter helped me and was courteous and helpful and handed me a survey. I will definitely be taking the survey. I mail things a lot and have never ever had an issue with a post office other than this one. The people who work here are blatantly rude. The lady who I asked for help from and the other lady who was rude the first time were also loudly gossiping, saying things like "that pisses me off", etc. unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

Worst service I've ever had at the post office. Not only does it have slow workers, they are the most unfriendly people I have ever met. Had 6 packages to send, already paid a huge amount for each one, but apparently it wasn't enough. Charging me a couple dollars for being an ounce over, sure that's fine. Charging an extra 42 dollars because the package was an inch over the length, that's just ridiculous!!!! As she was charging me extra for each package, I can hear the manager in the back saying "you're charging him retail for everything right?" Make sure you charge him full price. No leeway at all.... The whole process took over half an hour; which is huge for just wanting to drop off the packages. the worker having to measure each package multiple times, then saying she messed up and remeasuring again, just made the whole process aggravating. I avoid this post office even if my errands take me by it and I have to use the teller service to mail anything. The tellers are unfriendly and not nice in their task of "helping the customer." They are inefficient. Recently I didn't want to double back and decided reluctantly to mail from Brea P.O.
