this review is for one guy who works there and him only. everyone else is lovely and helpful. -- the customer service is atrocious, i understand having bad days or dealing with bad customers. yet every single time i've been at the post office, he has been rude, passive aggressive, and dismissive of not only myself but many other customers as well. he talks down to people with a pissed off demeanor. what may be common sense to you (because you work and understand the role) may not be to everyone else. the lack of patience and understanding, along with absence of general manners is unnerving to experience. do better. be kinder. -- it costs nothing to be kind read more

This post office does not have any boxes hardly. They have very limited sizes. These boxes are essential to anyone who ships inventory regularly. They are rude when you ask for supplies on top of it. I recently moved here from Swampscott. The post office in Swampscott was a joy to go to and always had a vast array of box sizes. I now travel to Swampscott or Salem to mail my packages. This is simply unacceptable customer service. read more

But when she went in the back to find my package I asked the other woman working the desk how much a packet of stamps were and she would not answer me. I asked three times and she heard me. They lose people's mail the mailboxes they come so late between 6 and 7 at night and they put me on the wrong mail boxes

There is a Christmas special for children where there is an island for misfit toys. I believe this is an island for misfit postal workers. I came in once to send out a package, and of course there were 1 million other people in line there. They had one line open, the large guy there was working it, and he was working at his second speed which is after slow - slower. The smaller man was in the booth next to him, just slowly sorting letters with a grin on his face that people make who have a mental disorder. I avoid this post office now at all costs. read more

God damn it! I hate this post office. I swear to god the new carrier on my route is withholding my mail in her little truck. When I drop stuff off here or in the blue boxes it take 2 to 3 day s longer for it to be delivered anywhere in the US than if I drop it off in a blue box in Wayland. I've dropped stuff off in PO and in Blue boxes all over the Northeast and this is by far the worst PO ever. It's always busy and my stuff is never delivered on time. My parents live in the woods of Maine and their PO is better than this stank hole. It irritates me to no end that I'm forced to use this god awful PO. the reason people use services like UPS and Fedex is because of craptastic post offices like this one. read more

Everyone agrees, this post office is an embarrassment. I was proud of myself for getting to the post office before they opened the window to be first in line to deliver a package. As I waited, 2 other women joined me. When it was 4 minutes past opening time we were getting annoyed. I knocked on the metal door to bring awareness to the fact that customers were waiting. Someone on the other side just said "don't knock on the door." When the door finally opened, the man working there seemed to totally not care. He walked so slow I swear he was trying to tick me off. When I told him my package was being shipped internationally he just handed me a paper and expected I should know what to do. Why are you in a customer service job if you don't care at all about helping the customer? I was so annoyed I actually just gave up and left. You can find my package in the trash. It wasn't even worth it. I will never return. read more

I'm giving one star because the lady Donna and the gentleman named Sean are very helpful and extremely kind! The other man with dark hair and glasses is one of the most rude and disrespectful people I've ever dealt with. I'm honestly not one to complain about bad service unless it's BAD, but this guy's attitude is appalling! I needed to fill out some paperwork that Sean and the nice woman told me I would need to fill out for a refund on a package that THE POST OFFICE LOST, and they were very apologetic and sweet in dealing with the situation, unfortunately I had to wait a few days to put in the inquiry and lucky for me, this guy was working. I brought all the documentation and asked him if I could put in the inquiry and he all but escorted me out the door and told me he didn't know who would've ever given me the information I had because it's wrong. I had a few simple questions and he kept being totally dismissive. I asked if I could fill out the paper work to bring it back and make it easier next time and he said, "you can. But we have to type it in anyway, so why bother?". Not for nothing, but I am merely trying to get my refund for the thing that I insured and go about my life. I have now been to the post office 4 times for this and he's made 2 of those occasions thoroughly unpleasant. I have to go back a FIFTH time now because he was useless. I've lived in over 30 towns in the past 21 years of my life. By far, this city has the worst postal service I have ever seen. Growing up in the sticks of Maine I got better service. I get mail almost a week late ( sent from Salem) ,my packages are left out on the step even when they have been marked to be picked up at the post office. I've had forwarded mail from my previous address just show up one day... months late. I'm not impressed with the fact that my post person will not TAKE any mail I try to send out. And when I do drop mail in the blue box, it takes over a week to reach many of the destinations. (mostly not that far away) This, of course , has caused important things to be late. Over all attitude seems to be that of "I don't care." read more

The worst ever! If it were a small private business, they would close their doors in a week. Supervisors look on as the line grows from 12 to 15 people, with only 1 window open. ONE! Supervisors can't open a window themselves? Cant the USPS hire another worker? The poor mailman said they had 1 window open all day. I used to have a PO box here. They lost my package, I went back repeatedly for it. Never knew anything about any package although I received a note in the mailbox they were holding one for me. They said they would call when they found it. It's been 2 years. They also love to lose company checks. I would like to get paid for working occasionally. Numerous times I had to have clients reissue checks. Once my fees were due again I said screw these people and left. Always short staffed, always confused. Collectively the most useless group of people working in any one post office in the entire country. I now have a po box out of town so they can stop losing my mail. read more

I routinely go to this Post Office and I don't know why everyone complains. The staff is beyond friendly and always start up a small conversation. Have I had to wait in before being taken care of...yes but that's to be expected. Overall they seem understaffed at times, but they do the best they can with what they can in my opinion! read more

This is probably the worst USPS location you could ever go to. Do yourself a favor if you have time and head over to the Peabody location behind the Northshore Mall or the Danvers location on Conant St. Unfortunately, I have frequented this post office for more than 15 years, and have always encountered consistently slow service and long lines, but typically the customer service is okay...until this past week when I ended up dealing with the rudest postal worker I have ever encountered. News flash USPS - you are in a customer service industry, act like it and take a clue from other businesses who value customers. If you wonder why you are losing so much money, it's because people rather pay more money at Fedex or UPS and get much better customer service. read more

I called this post office to ask about expediting my passport. I spoke with Postmaster Sean and he could not have been kinder or more helpful. When he learned that I would be making a special trip to Beverly to get the passport, he called the regional passport office to find out if that made the most sense. moved here from Malden 4 years ago - so far I love this Post Office - the staff much nicer and much more professional than the Malden Post Office. Yes, sometimes long lines, but you have that in any post office. Happy to be in Beverly near this Post office. read more
