Great service! Got an Amazon return today helped me with finding my code from changing it from staples to ups

Avoid this UPS store!! The staff are helpful, but Nick - the manager, -has very poor interpersonal skills and escalates challenging situations by blaming the customer and refusing to engage in any meaningful way when problems occur. When my package was sent to the UPS "Fraud Department" due to a glitch in the UPS system (their computer issued 2 receipts for the same package: one for shipping the package and another for payment), Nick stalled for months. Even though the Fraud Dept told me they had the package and it was safe, that they just needed confirmation from the store manager, UPS eventually lost the package. Nick then told me UPS acknowledged that the loss was their fault and would issue a full refund for the contents of the package, even though the package was not insured. I didn't hear back from Nick for almost 2 months. When I stopped by the store, Nick told me that UPS would not issue a refund, and that he was in a big "battle" with the company about it. He refused to send me copies of his correspondence, or updates of any kind and said that this was for the "protection" of UPS. He then told me he was busy and it was a lot of work to enter all the info manually... so it's not clear that he ever did anything at all to get my package back or get a refund. When I told him that this had been a terrible experience, he told me that was my "opinion". When I said I had used UPS for years, but I didn't want to go through this again, he said I had "options". I asked what they are? Nick said I could "use FedEx or USPS"! This man should NOT be in a managerial position. I had used that store for years for shipping orders for our business, but I will never go back there again. read more

Damn I cannot believe I'm leaving my second 1 star review EVER and guess what -- it's for the SAME ESTABLISHMENT!!!! STEER CLEAR from using this location, in fact, ANY UPS location for this holiday season (quite frankly, steer clear forever). Honest to god, I'm a very positive person so it pains me to have this much frustration towards anything, but holy hell. This store has been the root of my anger, stress and anxiety over the last 2 months. Long story short, they admittedly packaged my $800 tv (65") incorrectly and in result, delivered it to Texas completely destroyed. The best part? They're refusing to pay me back the value of the TV. OH WAIT -- I'm sorry, I think the best part has been this location completely ghosting my 25+ calls, 10+ voicemails, 10+ emails over the last 2 months. OH NO NO WAIT, I'm sorry. The best part might be me having to send my FATHER into the store to ask them to answer me since I'm now living halfway across the country. And they STILL had the audacity to ignore me. *Mind you, they were required to reach out to me with the claim's result 48hrs after it was processed -- they never did and instead just denied it -- so I quite literally had to open up 3 different complaints against this store desperately trying to have customer care help me while I have this giant smashed TV collecting dust in my tiny apartment* Here's the full story that's getting a lot of publicity Facebook (could have been avoided if they ever responded to me): I moved from Boston to Texas a couple months ago and shipped out a 65" TV (~$700 value) from my local UPS store. I was super nervous about shipping it halfway across the country and especially nearly shat myself when I was witnessing how careless the UPS worker was being with it (just to paint a picture: she attempted to place the TV SCREEN SIDE DOWN on the tiny metal scale to weigh it until I asked her to flip it over). Very IDGAF attitude, which is fine, but when I asked the worker if I could put insurance on it, or any extra protection, and she told me no. She proceeds to ring me up, charges me $286 to ship it out (almost shat myself again), handed me a paper to sign (spoiler alert: this is what f*cked me), and I go on my way. Fast forward a few weeks after I move, I unbox the giant package and see it's completely smashed. I tried getting in touch with the local UPS store - called countless times, left voicemails, emailed, sent my DAD to the store to ask them to respond to me, I TRIED EVERYTHING for a couple weeks - NO RESPONSE. Hell, I even sent in a Seargent in my town to talk with the owner - still didn't get back to me. I had opened a claim with customer care who told me it'd take 1-2 biz days for the local UPS store to get back to me with their decision to approve or deny it. Shocker - they never reached out. 2 more weeks went by, I kept calling customer care, they told me there's nothing they can do and they legally can't tell me what the claim's result is, only the local store can. (however, one rep did slip and tell me they denied the claim due to insufficient packaging) FINALLY, I got in touch with a great UPS representative who noted numerous red flags on the store's end: * packaged it for a 55" tv (10" too small) * packaged it for a 20lb item (it's 50lbs) * charged me an absurd amount to custom pack it WHEN THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE PROPER MATERIALS (the rep told me it's typically $50-$60, not $286) * *side note: you can tell by the lousy AF packaging in my photos that they had to ~get creative~ and tape two boxes together to be able to fit the TV inside (that they pretended was 10" smaller). I CANNOT.* The rep told me as long as I didn't sign a PSO form, this claim would certainly be passed and in return, I'd receive a check for the value of the TV along with the $286 I paid for shipping. She mentioned by signing the PSO form, you're refusing insurance/protection on the item if it's damaged from UPS. SADLY........turns out, that was the damn form I signed. I am livid beyond words. Until THIS store, every UPS store I have ever been to has been great. This store is Terrible! The overweight male employee there is the worst! He does the minimum. He moves as slowly as he can. He has NO interest in customer service and has a bad attitude which is very apparent. While most employees try to go "above and beyond," he tries to go "below and beneath." I don't trust anything he does and worry that my packages will handled correctly. I've never had this concern at a UPS store before. I think it's time for a change! read more

If this wasn't the closest place to me to do an Amazon return I would not be going here. Usually you just have to drop off an Amazon return unboxed & they package & ship. I recently went to return an Amazon purchase & didn't realize that I was responsible for boxing it. The price for a box from them was just under $15. I refuse to pay that much for a box when I always have recycled ones at home in my recycling bin. I left and will go back at another time. One other thing is that there is always a line to wait in & they are incredibly slow. Very annoying. read more

I had to return some stuff to Amazon, including a 70+ pound portable Air Conditioner that was too big for the room I need it for. The guy at the counter didn't flinch when I wheeled it in. He did the paper work in a flash. I was pleasantly surprised it was so quick and easy. Much better than waiting all day at home for a UPS truck to do a pick up. We'll done! read more

Would give zero stars if it was an option. It's 20° out in Beverly today and there was a line out the door at 4:50. Heavyset bearded guy behind the counter wouldn't let as in even though we were in line an ample time before closing. There was an elderly woman ahead of me standing there with heavy boxes Pleading with him to let her in as she had been there for 10 minutes waiting and he refused. He was a jerk about it as well. I had a truly shocking extremely rude experience in this store just two days ago sept 24 around noon. This has NEVER happened to me in any UPS store in MA NY or MN where I now have lived for 17 years. I am 66, Japanese American, was very nicely dressed for my plane departure from Logan Airport later at 4:30 pm. I have been in NYC for 4 long exhausting weeks packing moving my poor sick daughter then totally cleaning her apt. I had just packed 5 huge boxes to ship back to Minnesota via US mail from Peabody Friday the 23rd. Folk probably saw me for it took almost 2 hours. My daughter had lived here 9 years and we still have a large storage unit of her things in Peabody. I had items that had to be shipped via UPS in a large bag, I had other items still in the car which also needed to be shipped and required three trips from the car to bring into the store but I never got that far. I first walked in, no customers ( noon), asked her nicely if she had a cart I could use. She retorted briskly no she had only the hand cart. So I took the hand cart returned with my double walled excellent large flat box and my first large plastic bag. She IMMEDIATELY slams me with a long barrage of statements full of assumptions as to what my needs must be, NEVER giving me any chance to get in a word!! Wow. She says in a loud extremely irate tone," YOU are NOT allowed to come in HERE to pack your own things... It is a SERIOUS violation of our building insurance guidelines!! " I then tried to tell her most of the items in this large bag were being shipped ... She wouldn't hear of it and quickly cut me off!! Incredible !!!! Never in my life has any individual in a retail operation chastised me in such an intense openly nasty way!! So I said thank you very much I shall take my $200 of shipping needs elsewhere! And I did... to Cory at the UPS store in Peabody right next door to the Steak House!! He was a pure delight to work with and thanks to him I got everything done AND was able to zoom down to Chinatown to get a big thank you (a whole roast duck and deluxe honey roast pork) gift for my Enterprise car rental staff person ( jay) and made it to my plane by 3:30-- THANKS to Cory in Peabody! She was middle aged, shoulder length full out straightened brown hair and SUPER NASTY ! WOW!!! Horrific experience! read more

Went today to the Beverly, MA UPS store with my wife for a notary. The document I was signing required two witnesses. On staff they had a person there to perform the notary function and another staff member who could have served as the 2nd witness. When I politely asked if he could serve as a second witness, he said they were not obligated to provide a witness. This response was beyond unhelpful. He seemed to take pleasure in having the power to have the right to refuse our request (he could have helped us if so chose). I have had negative experiences at this location before, but this one felt awful. There's bad service and then there is insulting behavior. This was both. Save your money and go to a bank for a notary. We went to a bank down the street after and they provided the second witness and notarized - and for no charge. read more

Don't go here if you need to have a document notarized! I waited my turn in line, then was told he would have to take care of everyone behind me because notary services take 15 minutes. Meanwhile people kept coming in. I asked how long I would have to wait. He said he didn't know. Rude and unacceptable. read more

I didn't pay $300 to have a package that was clearly going to NJ to be shipped BACK to my house!? Are you kidding me!! The people are rude, inept, and I've never seen such incompetency in my life. Possibly the worst experience I have had with a shipping company in a long time. Had the wrong address and gave a hard time about updating a new one telling me I need to contact UPS directly when UPS told me it was the senders problem. I have not even gotten my package yet. Crossing my fingers its in good condition considering I paid over $300 to have it shipped with no damages. It has taken over a week and 3 past expected delivery days. read more

the worst customer service I ever had. The male staff dealing with my shipment had a horrible attitude. I was shipping 2 70-100 lbs luggages. The guy told me I had to put the Luggages on the scale on top of the counter and when I asked for help because it was too heavy for me to lift it up and place it on top of the counter he refused to help and proceed by saying well I have to weigh the luggages so you have to place it on top of the counter. he had me remove and place the luggages a couple of time so he could get the weigh and when he noticed I wasn't happy with his customer service be had the audacity to ask me if I was having a bad day. To complete my experience with that store. They lost one of my luggages, when I called to speak with a manager. the manager took a whole week to file a claim. after waiting for 2 weeks i called again for updates and he told me information that not even the ups claim department could find. I also informed the manager about my bad experience with one of the stuff and manager totally disregarded my complain, not even an apology, instead he said he wasn't at the store that day so he did not know what happened and couldn't do anything on that aspect. so overall worse ups ever. I stopped by yesterday to drop off a prepaid and pre labeled amazon package. You can just see the disdain in their eyes. It's as if they HATE it when you drop off a package. Never ever ever again! I agree with all of the low ratings. The guy that served me today was a jerk. I'm almost 70 and I had to use a dolly to bring a return package in weighing almost 60 lbs. The guy said "put it on the scale". The scale looked like it would be crushed. I said "That scale?". He said "So you don't want to return it then?" I asked if he would help me lift it onto the scale. He looked at me like I was just released from the psych ward. So I lifted it myself. I can't understand why the owner is happy with so many one-star reviews. Swears at you and does not acknowledge your presence for literally no reason. Real nice. Stopped in yesterday afternoon to drop off a prepaid return package. There was a long line and the clerk wasn't moving with much haste. After waiting in line for several minutes (and after the clerk finished up the transaction with the first person in line) I asked if it was possible for me to just leave the prepaid return package on the counter. He replied with a curt "no." At which point I left and went to the staples in the same plaza. I was in and out. The clerk there was friendly, and said it was okay for me to just leave the package with them. Going forward I'll avoid this UPS store and just use the Staples shipping service instead. read more

My fiance went to this location to print a label and ship a package. The staff were EXTREMELY RUDE to her, would not help her print out a label and told her to "go to staples." ?!?! Last Saturday (April 30, 2022) I had the worst customer service ever. The person working the counter picked a fight with everything I said. I put my package on the scale and said "we need to look up the address" and then I repeated my phone number. He said "why are you giving me your phone number?" I said "to look up the address". He said "why am I looking up an address? I don't know what services you want." I said "Excuse me?" He said "You have not told me what services you want". I said "I would like this box shipped and the address is in your system". I gave him the name, which I know automatically pops up the name and address. He then asked me "is Gray with an "a" or "e". I responded. "What is the street?" It went on and on. I was so rattled that when he asked me to tell the screen if the address was correct I actually spoke to the screen................! read more

I was at this Beverly UPS store tonight after work and was very disappointed at the un-welcoming, indifference and rudeness of the young man who waited on me. He barely acknowledged me, was more concerned about talking to whoever was in the back room. I felt like I was bothering him by being there! Before I left, I told him he could be a little friendlier and his response was a sarcastic "uhuh, uhuh", as he quickly exited to the back room to continue his conversation w/ whoever. I've been to this UPS store countless times and was never charged for taping the box...until today! I was shocked that I had to pay a $1.00 taping fee! I did not notice this charge anywhere on the website and it was never an issue the past, so I can't tell you how disappointing this was considering we are in the midst of the holiday season. There was only one person working, and he quietly took everyone's package and he wasn't rude, but please be sure to have something clearly posted since I did not have any cash on me when I ran in to drop off my package. read more

Truly terrible experience. My wife and I sent a small package with two-day shipping a little over three months ago that was lost in transit. We have been through countless phone calls and "claims" with both UPS and this particular store to refund our money, let alone pay for the lost item. I cannot convey how rude these people have been on top of avoiding helping us at all. Since these stores are independently owned and operated, we have been consistently pushed by UPS to the store itself. We have officially given up. Why does their website say "notary on premises" when there's apparently like only one guy to do it and he never seems to be there? If you offer notary service, every employee should be a notary to work here. It's not exactly a tough thing to obtain. Haven't been here in years. But attempted to ship a package, and I remember the woman who "helped" me today from years ago. One of the rudest, most abrasive people I've ever encountered. She took my drivers license, insisting she won't mail my package without it. After she entered it, she said they will keep it on file. I objected, she said too bad, if I wanna do business with them, then thats the deal. I said "you didn't tell me when I first gave you my license that you're gonna keep it on file." She said "If you don't like it, I'll give you your stuff back and you can leave." So I accepted her offer, and left. Holy cow, wow. They closed early on the Sat of Memorial Day weekend even though the sign in the door said they'd be closed on Monday and nothing more. I returned the following week to drop off a package w/a UPS label already on it. After a brief wait a woman came out from the back, looked at me and when I said "hi, I need to drop this off and get a receipt" she just took the package and gave me the receipt.
