My mother's hope chest has been in my custody since she died over forty years ago, and I'm sorry to…read moresay that I didn't take good care of it. The finish was damaged, and the top was badly scratched up by years of dogs jumping up on it. When I finally decided to have it refinished, I chose Murphy's based on my daughter's experience with them, and expected them to do as good a job as possible under the circumstances, but they really exceeded my expectations -- it looks wonderful, better than it looked when I first inherited it! I highly recommend this service! I wish I had a Before picture but I was too ashamed of its condition to take one!

But Bob and his team exceeded our expectations, even after close examination there was no way to tell that it wasn't the original finish. Bob delivered exactly what he promised and we could not be happier. He delivered on time and provided door to door pickup and delivery. If you are in the need for furniture refinishing I would absolutely recommend Murphy's Refinishing with no hesitation. It was a great experience for us.

I have a Christmas ornament that is made out of an egg shell that my first grade teacher made for…read moreme. I'm 56 so that gives you a reference of how old it is. A few Christmases ago, my cat tipped over the Christmas tree (first time ever after 10 years having this cat) and I have hard wood floors, so you know what happened. The egg was broken in many places. I was devastated. But I picked up the egg and its broken pieces and put in a plastic bag, determined to figure out how to fix. I spent a few months looking all over the internet and reached out to friends for help with no success. I took a break for a few months and then decided to ask ChatGPT for assistance. The first answer it gave me was Restoration Services. I went to the website and the rest is history as they say. The owner, Micheal, helped me directly. I sent him pictures of the egg and he provided some options to restore it. This was no easy task, I didn't have all the broken pieces so he had to create those missing pieces. It took him close to a year to restore but I got it a few days ago and it's PERFECT! I'm so thankful that he was able to restore my precious keepsake with such precision. I will say this ornament will never be going on the Christmas tree as I will find a way to display in a case on my fireplace mantle. I highly recommend Restoration Services. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I sent an enquiry for cloissone repair for a vase I owned. I was quoted $100-…read more$200, so I shipped them my vase. That cost me $65. When they received it, they said the repair would be $750, more than the value of the vase. They said if I wanted it back, it would cost me $200. I said I did not want to pay more than double of what it cost me to ship it to them. They said they would dispose of it for me. I told them I was unhappy with this program, no response. I sent a follow up email, no response. Very unhappy with this business.

When I went to leave and take my items with me they became very pushy and possessive about holding on to my items saying they would "just hold on to them to run some ideas and let you know what we came up with" I asked multiple times for my stuff but they insisted and put some distance between me and my stuff. I didn't think much about it at the time but when I left and digested over the next couple of days I didn't like the feeling of someone else holding on to my stuff so I went back in to get the pieces back. When I returned I was told I couldn't get my stuff because they were busy trying to come up with designs etc. at this point I became more uneasy and I again left the store without my stuff. I called later to say I want my stuff back and when will it be ready to pick up and the owner gave me the spiel that I needed to support local business etc etc and said they had already started on the items. I really didn't want to be in this position and wasn't given a price but was told I'd be given a good deal. I was shocked when I went back to pick up the items at the price. I showed them to a friend of mine that was having hers done at Michael's in Acton and she was stunned at the price. Literally every item I paid approx $400 and she had hers done for about $50 each. I just felt like a fool and my trust was broken. I will never be back to the store I feel totally misled
