I was so scared entering this place because it looks abandoned. There was no cars in the parking lot. I actually walked in without the packages that I needed to ship just in case the place was closed down but to my surprise it's a fully working post office and the lady at the counter was more than helpful. Super nice gave me some tips on what to do when shipping things for the future which I really appreciate it.

This place is fine...it's okay. I just really really appreciate the parking lot! I can park and then walk only a few steps. So convenient. therefore, 3 stars! About this post office: -really small -- look at my picture. (But if you go at a good time, it won't be cramped, so that wouldn't even matter.) -I went around 3pm on a Tuesday and I only waited around ten minutes. Versus Downtown Berkeley post office, where I always had to wait more than 30 minutes FOR SURE. BUT...downtown Berkeley one is also bigger, and the employees seem nicer and happier too. And way more helpful. North Berkeley one too. So you gotta pick...customer service or speed? -they have two windows but only one was accepting packages..slowed things down a little. -the lady was only semi-helpful...she was pretty much just mostly impatient. But hey, it's a post office...that's usually the case. I like that this post office is so close to me and that there's a parking lot...but also that it's WAY less crowded than other Berkeley post offices. Yes, the atmosphere here is the dingiest in comparison to the North Berkeley and Downtown Berkeley ones, but it's also the fastest too (bc of the # of ppl, not the employee speed...) so that's good enough for me!

Small and a bit depressing, this post office location needs some TLC. I can't comment on the staff as there was no one working when I showed up at 1:30pm on a weekday -- very strange. I actually missed the location once because it isn't that well-signed. On the plus side, there is a lot of (free) parking.

The people in charge was very bossy, offered less help than what other USPS do. Waiting queue was too long. Hot and no air inside

I never thought I would write a Yelp review about a post office, but here we are. I used to be a…read morebig fan of USPS. I even worked in the mail room in college and got pleasure out of making sure mail went to the right person. A little over two years ago, I moved into my current apartment. I noticed pretty quickly that the letter carrier would make frequent mistakes, often delivering mail meant for a neighboring building or even a different street. They also delivered mail for former tenants. I couldn't fault them for not knowing who has or has not moved away, so I tried putting a post-it with a note on my building's mail box. That did not help. I even tried circling the name of one mail recipient and specifically noted that he had died (which I learned from a simple Google search). Incredibly, the letter carrier ignored that as well. I have finally started Googling the companies that are sending this mail and calling them to let them know that the people they are trying to reach no longer live here (and may have passed away). One would think that after multiple requests followed by a series of complaints, USPS would find capable employees, but that has not happened: the deceased former tenant still receives mail here. Recently, a package that was sent to me was scanned as delivered, but it was not in my mailbox or on my doorstep. I strongly suspected it was delivered to the wrong building. After I made a complaint to USPS, they located the package and brought it here - a week later. Thankfully, it was neither perishable nor anything I needed urgently. Last month, I got home from work one day and opened my mail box to find mail that was wet and dirty. It had not rained that day; the mail must have been dropped in a puddle, and rather than drying it off, the letter carrier delivered it as is. Perhaps the most troubling instance, though, is from a year ago, when USPS failed to deliver my ballot for the general election. I had to vote in person on election day (which I was thankfully able to do). No one answers the phone at this USPS location, and when I visit in person to bring them all the misdelivered mail, I am told that they will talk to the letter carrier. It has become evident that they are just not interested in taking responsibility for their mistakes. The sheer incompetence of this USPS office is mind-boggling. It is remarkable how little attention to detail the postal employees at this office pay. How is this tolerated by USPS?
