If your drive way is blocked, they won't even care to get out of their truck and deliver to the house. Like it's so difficult, while Amazon or FedEx would park and walk to the house. Lazy mfers. Also, why even have 3 DIFFERENT routes on one street?! I have used this post office for over 30 years and found it to be very efficient; staffed by friendly, helpful people who take the time to know your name. It helps to anchor our small business district and is integral to life on the Island. Unfortunately, the mangement of this post office resides in s Seattle, and is not as efficient at supporting its employees as it should be. read more

A cute, cozy post office if I've ever seen one. We had a handful of Naw Ruz greetings to mail off to family and friends around the world, and happened to be enjoying a beautiful spring day on Bainbridge at the same time. We stopped in, waited briefly for our turn, mailed our cards, bought extra stamps and were on our way. It was efficient, easy and the person working behind the counter was helpful and friendly. I was on Bainbridge and walked by this post office on a Sunday. It wasn't open but the post office was in a nice location on the main strip. I did not use the post office nor did I interact with anyone who works here so I can't comment on the customer service. The postmaster at this station (he has white hair and a goatee and glasses) is a real jerk for no reason. I ship the same items all the time using a particular box and paper packing materials. he rejected it and said it 'did not meet standards' so i explained to him that this was never a problem at the Seafirst PO in Seattle so he said he did not care and refused to ship it. so i took it into town the next day, went to the Seafirst USPS and spoke to the Postmaster there. as soon as i said 'Bainbridge' he started shaking his head. that guy who runs the Bainbridge PO has a bad reputation and i can see why. go elsewhere if you can. read more

On most visits, the lines are long and the counters are never fully staffed. If mailing a package, use the APC (Automated Postal Center) to finish your transaction and get outta there in a pinch. The parking is interesting as it is a tighter fit. If you are looking for the mail drop, drive down to the end of the parking lot and stay on the outer part of the curve. I believe the service counters close at 5 PM so if you need to see a live person, leave early! If you need a PO BOX, it is wacky to find that you can reserve a box online and come grab the keys but if you show up to the location and ask for one you they will tell you the boxes are all fully rented out. The parking lot is usually packed during the day and you might have to do another circle to find a spot. The lines are long if you need a live person to send out some mail or package. I typically come here for the drive thru drop off or pick up my mail. I have never had a bad experience here just long lines. read more

I just read a review below about their attempt to call and the phone just rings until disconnected. Today I had to call the post office to report and investigate an error on their part. I am sitting on my 3rd attempt, and the phone just rings until is disconnects. More importantly, the issue is that we are a business on Bainbridge Island that receives a significant amount of mailed in checks from clients. A client mailed a check to us in our preprinted return envelope. Instead of being delivered to us, the envelope was slapped with a change of address label for a business within our office building that moved to Poulsbo. That business was kind enough to notify us so we could go pick up the envelope and check. I am now worried that lots of our business mail will be erroneously redirected. My worry is increased by one of our staff members having a similar experience. She ordered a package to be delivered to our business office. After a month, and filing a claim, an individual elsewhere on the island with the same first name received the package. Nothing was similar about the address other than the first name. It is not uncommon for us to receive stacks of mail back as undeliverable 1 or 2 months after mailing. These are valid addresses that we have used for years, and continued to use after the mail return. Our business has suffered, we are blamed for not doing our job. It is frustrating. read more

I avoid it like the plague. Awful parking lot. You circle like a shark, hoping for a spot to open up while random people dive in front ot your car. I have NEVER seen it fully staffed in 20 years. Usually you have a couple bored postal workers, who aren't going postal, but they're not what you would call balls of fire, either. Don't count on getting in, mailing a package and getting out. Never happen. Leave plenty of time. Abandon all hope ye who enter here. They're not any worse than several other post offices, but I actually did find one that usually only has one or two people waiting in line. And no, I'M NOT TELLING!!!! read more

Update: Jan 2017 So now they claim that yet another package got delivered because the GPS says so. it turns out that their GPS is accurate to 400 feet. Kandy AGAIN.... Really! she does not have the package Medicine and she will not do anything. They are AWFUL Probably the worst people I have ever dealt with. I talked to Steve a post office employee and "Kandy" the post office manager. The USPS website says the packages did get deliver at 532pm on Saturday Nov 5 2016, I have video surveillance in my house, and no USPS truck drive by or stooped at the mailboxes in the entire day. I asked the manager if she would like to see the surveillance videos but she does not trust them. Go figure...trust a government employee or video footage... Nothing short of pathetic. read more

My business has a PO BOX here so I have to come here often. I try to come after hours so I don't have to deal with the parking lot mess. If you do use this location chill out in the parking lot and watch out of the pedestrians. They have an automated postage machine in the lobby so that is helpful for after hour stuff or even for when they are open. There is usually a line out the door on the weekdays so I try my best not to go in unless I have to. Check the mail and get out in one piece. read more

This post office has some great people working there and glad to go do business when I have the time to stand in line. By quip is about the postal service raising postal rates and not providing the most current stamps. Postcard rates went up one penny but no one has any of these new stamps and they are now out of the one cent stamps. Will the postal service deliver postcards with 33 cent stamps on them until they get caught up? read more

Great experience! They had LOTS of flat rate priority boxes (most places only stock the flat rate Express boxes anymore!), the place was clean, employees polite and efficient. Yes, the line was long but I felt it moved quickly. Can't think of any way they can change how many folks come to the post office, lol. Really, I was very impressed. Good people yet overwhelming understaffed. Tried to call to absolutely no avail. Went thru the entire series of rings twice only to have the system get tired of ringing and disconnect. And forget calling the 800. You'll sit on a music hold for 20+ minutes. Time to address BI USPS management and hire more staff it seems. Saturday at 215 pm I stopped by the Federal Way Wa Po to retrieve my mail from m,y PO Box of over 35 years! And what did I find but a locked up PO with no signage at all with current hours of operation!!!!! I pay for box service and should at least be told that reduced hours that I can access my mail!! I'm am a retired Post Master and am shamed of the way this office of operated and the condition it is in!! One of the most incompetently run places of business that I have ever walked in to. They lost my package, lied to my face about what happened, refused to do anything about it and passed the buck from one supervisor to the next. They gave me a number to call that is a constant busy signal from the time they open until the time they close. I am now trying to call them on a different line for an unrelated issue at 11am on a Monday and am getting a message that their hours are from 9am-5pm and to call back during regular business hours. Pretty good post office. The are improved greatly since the street got extended by there property. Easier to get in and out. There service inside has gotten quicker too. Love the self help machines as well. read more

My corporate position has my family relocating often. This is the worst mail service I have ever experienced. We've had mis-deliveries that belong to others left on our doorstep, then they didn't come back to pick up the package when we called. I have had two packages lost (they claim were delivered). Terrible. Weekly, we have regular postal mail in our box that does not belong to us and is not even close to being our address. read more
