I'm not saying that the people aren't nice, except what is with the cluster mailbox on Bismarck Drive in the Bridges at Bear Creek? Repeatedly, I don't get Amazon packages, or the key placed in my box doesn't open the package box that it is numbered to match. Yesterday, key number 6 was in my box. It did not open box 6, it opened box 2! Nothing in there for me! I have attempted to call this Post Office to tell them that package boxes are jammed and/or do not open but the phone just rings and rings. When we first moved into the neighborhood in September 2013 someone always answered down there; now, no one answers. Someone needs to come and re-key these cluster mailbox package boxes. I am not the only one with this complaint! Now I have to see if the package arrives in another package box and send the duplicate that I called Amazon for last night back! Everything says "delivered" but when you go to open the package box it's either in another box or the box doesn't open. Wish we just had our own mailbox. Called to set an appointment for passport paper work, girl said to hold on so she can get the book to set the apt. I waited 20 min before I decided to hang up and call again and the answer machine said it was closed. Don't answer the phone if you're just going to ditch because you wanted to get home 10 min faster, don't waste people time. read more

I could write a really log post about my awful experience at this Post Office a few days ago but I'll keep it short. They lost a package of mine a really crucial one. It was a prescription. As another person stated the signage in that place is awful. I had no idea I wasn't supposed to stand in line with everyone else. When I got to the counter and the guy told me I was in the wrong line I said "how would I have known that walking in the door" apparently if you've got a lost package you're supposed to go to the really creepy Dutch door and hope some one comes to assist you. I was there for an hour and 15 minutes with no resolution. I finally called my insurance and told them what I was dealing with and they were nice enough to go ahead and resend the prescription to me. I left my number with the supervisor cause I told them if I they found the medication that I needed to send it back to my insurance. Of course I have not received a single call. It's sad when I got better customer service from my health insurance than at my local post office. I hope I never have to deal with another lost package again but being that my insurance requires me to do mail order I may not be so lucky. read more

Not sure why they bother to have a phone number because they NEVER answer it! I have called three times this afternoon to report that my mailbox is jammed and the key can't open it. All three times it rang so many times that eventually it just cuts off the ringing. And the USPS wonders why they are bleeding red ink and can't compete with other private mail services? read more

I will never come back here again! The service is horrible and they never asked their phones which I overlooked when I made an appointment to have my passport made. They said that they could take pictures for the passport there when I spoke with them on the phone to make my appointment, so I didn't get one made. When I get there to have my passport made they tell me their camera is down and since I didn't bring a picture they couldn't help me. I was NEVER notified that their camera was down. He didn't offer me any other assistance and he did not apologize. I am furious. Now I am going to have to rush around and figure out a different place to get my passport made in time for my honeymoon in 2 months. NEVER USE THIS POST OFFICE. read more

I needed to renew my passport and started by going to FedEx for pics. They couldn't mail it because the state dept only gives you a PO box # and FedEx requires a street address. So FedEx took the pics and I went to the Mockingbird station post office on Manchaca Rd Austin,TX. I spoke with Aaron and he was extremely helpful. He pointed out that the passport people won't like the FedEx pics because there's glare off of my glasses. The passport pic has to show your whole face, eyebrows to chin and your eye color. :( But Aaron has the same camera as FedEx and was able to redo my pics. He also reviewed my renewal application, made sure my check was for the correct amount, and helped me get it mailed. One stop at the PO can take care of all your passport needs. Now I just have to go back to FedEx to get a refund for my unusable pics. read more

The staff at this post office has always been courteous in the 12 years I have been coming in. Yes, they are short staffed, but they work hard. They have always responding to requests I've made. Given the volume of mail, sometime glitches occur, but that always happens in any business. The fact they are open late certainly helps. read more

Can you image a company not answering the phone from customers. Oh wait it's the Unite States Postal Service never mind. I have completely stopped using snail mail because of the lack of service and ability to get anything done. I've started to use UPS or Fedex in shipping needs because at least they answer your questions and get the job done. Come on USPS you can do better. read more

I am convinced this post office is the portal to hell. It always looks like a tornado just blew through, they only seem to ever have one person working at any given time (who is usually cranky) and there is usually a line out the door. The receptacles are usually full and the self-service machine rarely works. Going to the post office is rarely a pleasant experience, but this one takes the cake for the worst. read more

Seriously the worst! Even though this post office is right down the street from my house, I avoid it at all costs. Most of the employees are rude and the wait times are ridiculous! There's never enough employees, usually only one or two. They used to have banner of the floor that said something to the effect that they strive for wait times of 5 minutes or less, it's no longer there. I ordered a tool from ebay, when it arrived usps the box was round, and partially open. It looked like someone had gotten angry at the box, and took out their frustration on it. I took pictures, and did everything I thought I should do. I had the item repaired by a certified repair shop ( the only one in austin ) The cost was $ 289.00 which I thought was reasonable. I submitted everything and filled out all of the forms, and I am waiting. That was in early November of 2008. I have tried many times to follow up and get the status of the claim, but no luck so far. It is now the end of April 2009. so it has been 6 months, and I now realize that I will never get my money back, and I have no recourse, that I might have with a private shipping company - screwed read more
