I was out within 5 minutes of waiting even with a line. Besides the service, the location is a bit hidden so I wasn't crazy about that. I realize that going to the post office is never tops on anyone's list, but this post office is far superior to others I've visited. The main reason is their excellent customer service. In the pursuit of that elusive celebrity autograph often send out mail that is SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope). Often, this type of mailing seems to be a hassle for post office employees, but at this location, the guys tackle the task with a smile and seem to be genuinely interested in what I'm doing. I also think this location is particularly lucky as I have received my signed Kirk Douglas Spartacus comic book from this location. Now, if only Sean Connery would respond. read more

I like the postal service in ways that are rare for somebody in my generation. Cool stamps (they didn't have such cool stamps when I was growing up) and my grandfather's collection make me nostalgic for my childhood. This location is in need of a makeover as it's rather random but functioned as Post Offices tend to do in 2011; slow, steady, without reason, and with that odd smell that doesn't stink but doesn't encourage regular breathing. I made a complain to the manager that my package was delivered to the wrong address....again for the 4th time, 2 doors down from our shop this time. I'm actually located 1 minute away from this post office. Two packages were delivered to two different banks next to our shop; one package was delivered a half mile away to an apartment building. Luckily the sender of my package included my phone number on the address label & the receptionist of that apartment building called me up. This time , my package was delivered to Palm Beach Tan, two doors down from my shop. The postman who delivered it , walked passed my shop who was probably feeling energetic that day that he decided to walk more steps . The employee opened the package thinking it was theirs because of course it was delivered to them. Realizing that they didn't order those items , checked the address label & went to our shop to give the opened package explaining that they thought it was theirs because it was delivered there. The post office manager told me that I should have gone immediately to them to report what happened.I felt like she was blaming me for what happened . She further produced a picture of my package that they received it unopened. And that I should go to Palm Beach Tan to ask them for the missing items. I explained that they were already closed ( the post office) by the time I received my package & I will not confront Palm Beach Tan for the missing items. I emphasized that had my package been delivered correctly to the right address that was clearly printed on the label, I will not lose some items. It is their job & responsibility to read well the package 's final destination. She didn't even bother to apologize nor gave any indication that she will do something so that it will not happened again. I think all of them including the manager & all delivery employees must undergo evaluation to see if they're still competent to perform their job or whether they need to wear a reading glass or use a magnifying glass to read the address label correctly! I didn't recover the two missing packages that was delivered the bank. Maybe those delivery man should retire or be replaced by a more intelligent personnel & a new manager who possesses good customer service & manage the deliveries of packages competently & solve the mistakes intelligently done by aging delivery employees. Each time I lose a package & complain to the manager, nothing happens & it's never solved or has gotten better with the system of their deliveries. It's absolutely very stressful for me to experience to make a complain, check missing package & all the works that involves in compensation which I never get compensated. The sender cannot refund me because they evidently sent the pay to the right address & the post office will not pay me for the lost packages because they have a lot of excuses that it's not their fault. I didn't have any real problem here. Like Hannah Y. said, the parking lot over in this corner of the Bradlee shopping center is always crowded due to the Giant, but it's not unreasonable. I didn't take too much offense to the line and the slowness of the employees because I wasn't in a rush the last time I was there, and honestly, I expect that low level of service from a US Post Office employee. I did have an older gentleman say, "Hey there, handsome" on my way out, though, which definitely skeeved me out. Thinking about it now, all that downgrades it from a 3 star to a 2 star rating. *Shudder* read more

As with all post offices they move real slow here and with a poor attitude, the act annoyed that they have to do their job. They sigh at you, they roll their eyes at you it's just so rude. They have also have overcharged me a few times with thin padded envelopes being rung up as boxes. WATCH out for this. Also, measurements being taken incorrectly and over-changing for that as well. I was once asked if I want stamps and I said "sure" then they couldn't find any. And as for all those motivational posters by the checkouts they should be put up in the BACK for the employees to see and read NOT for the customers because they just reinforce all the post office employees stereotypes. read more

I would give this post office 0 stars if I could. I went to the post office to ship a package that was 18 lbs. I gave the package to the clerk, and he told me that I only paid for a label that was a 1 ounce package. He was very rude in his tone and unprofessional. He then rudely stated said that he "can't and wont ship the package." He told me that I had to cancel my order and "start all over". The employee made me feel unwelcomed and was not offering much assistance. I went home and re-printed the the shipping label and changed the weight to 18 pounds. I put the label on the box and drove all the way back to the same post office. When I got inside, the line this time was wrapped around the whole office. Not to mention, this rude clerk was the only clerk working the counter. When I finally reached the front of the line, I went inside for the second time to try to ship my package. When I went inside, he said that I now had the wrong box stated on the label. Even though I repaid for the label and put the correct weight, he still said that he can't ship my package. He also decided to be passive aggressive and go get the same type box that was listed on my shipping label to prove that that type box was much smaller and "not going to work". He told me not to get mad at him as he noticed that I was irritated with his tone and his demeanor. I had to leave the post office dissatisfied and unable to ship my package. It was obvious that he was trying to be difficult on purpose and not trying to work with me. In addition, when a caucasian person approached the clerk, they were laughing and having a great conversation. But when a minority approached the clerk, he was highly unprofessional and rude and treated them with disrespect. All in all, take your packages to a different USPS if you can! read more

I went to the Parkfairfax Post Office (3682 KING ST. ALEXANDRIA, VA 22302-9998) today and discovered that the key to my P.O. Box did not work. I told the woman at the counter that I had this box for years, and hadn't received a bill or notice to renew. This P.O. box is on all my business cards and collateral. It turns out that my P.O. Box has been closed and may have already been rented to someone else. Why would they suffer the expense of recoring a lock and losing a good customer, when I would bet they have empty P.O. boxes. Makes no sense to do this to a customer of many years without trying to get me to renew. I always renew and normally receive a notice and bill. I am very upset. Nobody there could resolve the problem. I was told that the woman who could assist me was on a two week vacation until the end of August. This is not right. A week later I went in to the post office to mail packages and asked the woman at the counter if I could borrow some tape. She said all she had was Scotch tape. I told her that was perfect. She said to her coworker, Mary, "Can she use your tape? Do you have enough?". Mary responded, "I guess." with a sour look and tone. Excuse me, but I pay taxes for that tape. That is not Mary's property. These people know nothing about customer service. I used to feel badly for postal employees that the USPS was doing so poorly, but now I do not. Would like to have given no stars. Went to this post office because we have had a lot of problems with missing and stolen mail at our local PO. Didn't do any good, the gift card I mailed here (while at work) got stolen anyway. I'm going to start insuring everything I send at ANY PO for $1,000. This place has really gone downhill. It used to be my post office of choice. But not only are the lines long (like waited almost 30 minutes), they also run out of supplies. It was something you could look past previously because the employees were so nice... But I do not know what happened but all of the employees are incredibly bitter and unhelpful. I initially felt sorry for the people working because people were so rude to them... Until it was my turn and I was basically told all the things I did wrong like buying a box from the PO and the fact my cc wasn't signed (which is done purposely in case it is stollen). We love our regular mail carrier. He's thorough; quick and very professional. HOWEVER, when he goes on vacation, the "service" is pitful. Mail left (unsecured) on front steps; soaked in rain, on several days. Documents damaged because the substitute carrier failed to leave it inside door or even put through mail slot in the rain; we received mail for neighbors several doors away, and a man around the corner received our mail. Ridiculous. Counter service is typical of USPS...s-l-o-w. This is precisely why I use email, FedEx, United Parcel Svc, etc. The USPS is a dinosaur that Uncle Sugar needs to close, or turn it over to the private sector. Park FFX USPS phone number: 703-379-4947, which is conveniently unavailable unless you're a CIA operative. USPS has you jump through numerous hoops to get a local number for the station. I'm only giving one star because our regular carrier is so terrific! read more

On Oct. 13, I took boxes to mail three times, and turned away because there were between 9 and 12 people waiting impatiently. Only two people work there, it seems. I went to the Baileys Crossroads post office for 22041 area. It is obviously newer, larger, lighter, and includes the machines for mailing boxes and smaller items. Three friendly people were there, and there was no line. The P.O. at 3682 King St needs revamping or closing. read more

I wish I could give them no stars! Terrible service! I mailed a birthday card to my best friend on April 15, 2019. It was post marked on the same date. His birthday was the 22nd of April so I thought I was sending this in plenty of time to arrive before his birthday. It is now April 25th and he just received the birthday card today! It took 11 days to from from Alexandria VA to Fort Lauderdale FL. Furthermore, I called the Post office at Park Fairfax where this was mailed from with correct postage to complain about this and they told me that if I wanted it to get there in a timely manner that I should have sent it by paying for a tracking service like UPS or Fedex!!! They said that the USPS does not have any time guarantees on regular mail. I know that but 11 days for a birthday card to go from Alexandria VA to Fort Lauderdale FL is total crap! If there is a Post Office haven, this is it. The lines are short and move quickly. The postal workers are helpful and kind. It's sort of the anti-post office office. So, I've put together two rather heavy parcels for my family in San Diego, CA, and I muscle my way up to the counter where I am told that one package will cost $25 to ship (cheapest) and the other $35 (also cheapest). I'm about to lose my mind thinking about how much that sucks and how the sentimental junk inside probably isn't even worth that much and the, much to my surprise, the kind postman suggests that I use the ready-made boxes that ship at a fixed price just so long as your stuff fits inside them. Never mind how heavy the parcel is, just so long as the junk fits in the box, it's only $13/box. Um, yeah!!! So, I spread out and get my ish together and repackage the stuff and send out my two packages for approximately the price it would have cost me to send out one. WINNING. And kudos to the kind postal worker who made the suggestion. I would have been lost without you. Mu-ah!! Oh, and both recipients already have their packages (sent on Saturday 5/6/2017). Also of note, parking is a cinch if you get there early. read more

I've going here regularly for almost a year. I travel a lot so I opened a PO box for receiving packages. The staff here is pleasant and the lines are not excessive. Convenient location in Bradlee shopping center with pretty easy parking. On the downside, the facility is outdated and lacks automated vending machines for sending packages and buying stamps - nearest place for that is South Glebe branch near intersection of Columbia Pike. read more

This place is awful. Long lines especially during lunch when they only have one person to wait on people. Staff act as if they don't give a damn about anyone and customer service is awful. The staff need replacing because they act like they are waiting to retire especially the older woman who is a bit on the heavy side with thinning hair - maybe her name is Mary? She is downright rude. Just called to see about a package I want to know the tracking status of (shows no activity since the 24th) and of course, why would anyone answer the phone? They all deserve to be fired. read more

Worst post office I have ever been to. They are continually rude. They obviously do not like their jobs and they especially hate when customers have to send packages internationally. I've had to mail packages to my brother stationed in Afghanistan (army) 3 times in the past 4 months. And everytime I go into this terrible post office, I get different information regarding how I can mail my packages. They obviously need to be retrained because each person has their own unique set of rules for mailing internationally. And each time they change the rules and send me back to the end of the line. Today it took me an hour and a half to mail 2 packages internationally. Terrible experience. I would advise going to any other post office within the Alexandria/Arlington VA area - but NOT to the Bradley Shopping Center post office. read more
