Therefore I had to stop payment on 5 checks and submit Fraud Claim against the checks that never made it. Thank God that my bank are very alert they called me to let me know that the information and request has been circulated throughout and my account alert has been activate. This is the largest amount of checks missing that was mailed inside this branch. One was done a year ago that I had to post a stop payment for. Then they claimed that they attempted delivery on Sunday March 23. I was at a scheduled MRI and had been told BY THE DMV that the earliest attempted delivery would be Monday, March 24 so I thought I could attend my MRI without missing a delivery. However, if I had been told that they would be here Sunday, I could have rescheduled the MRI despite being in intense pain. Yesterday, Monday, again -no delivery. Today I went to the website but it was a horrible experience. Their system asked for the tracking number but I was cut off after in putting only half the numbers on my phone keypad. I tried several times and I KNOW I had the correct number. Later, I went to my porch and found mail, including a notice that the Lanham carrier could not deliver and "were sorry they missed me." They did NOT miss me. I have been near the front door all day. The carrier made NO attempt to see if anyone was home - did not knock or ring the bell - just left the stupid note. I requested an investigation via the main post office about HOW to get my package but that was before the carrier put delivery notice put in my mail box. What is wrong with the Lanham Post Office that the carrier will not due her damn job and knock or ring the bell so an old lady can get her important MVA document???? How much effort does it take to ring a bell or knock on the damn door????

To keep a reasonable flow of traffic, the parking lot is mostly one-way -- which can be confusing if you're on Hanover Parkway and miss the sign. But otherwise, I appreciate the flow. I think the only times I've been inside are when I've needed stamps, which I get once every few years -- I send a bulk of things for the holidays, and always get more stamps than I need. I needed regular stamps, since it felt odd sending holiday ones in the summer, so there was that. One time I stood in line it was a little long, and the other time it was totally empty. I always drop off my letters at the box outside. I do take jogs, so I've seen when it gets really busy. Avoid coming after work, around lunchtime or on weekend afternoons if you can... you will indeed be dealing with a lot of folks.
