Stop stealing packages! I run a small business and used to drop off my shipments at the Crofton USPS because creating labels at home made it convenient. Unfortunately, I've experienced issues with this location twice, where I believe my shipments were stolen. Without a scan, the items aren't in the system, and I've had to deal with disappointed customers who never received their packages. I spoke with the supervisor, who suggested that packages sometimes just aren't scanned but will still be delivered. However, my experience proved otherwise. I typically drop off 10-12 items at a time, so it's puzzling and frustrating how just one item could be missed if they're altogether. I can't afford to lose inventory and resend items. Due to this repetitive issue, I've resorted to having my home post office, in another city, pick up my packages to ensure every item is scanned. Be warned: dropping off packages here without verifying they've been scanned is risky. I wouldn't recommend it if you value reliability and proper tracking. read more

Reggie at the counter is always helpful and pleasant. I know there may be issues at some Post Offices, however, Reggie and the other man with the accent and the lady(she wears a scarf) have proven to be exemplary employees with great customer service. read more

Firman was a rude employee. Kept interrupting my mother and I after we were confused about a package return. Very quick in cutting us off and not letting us speak. He was very rude. Do not believe he should be working with customers and treating people with disrespect. He was trying to start an argument over a misunderstanding. Needs to go back to training. Would like to take the time to thank the two young ladies working there on Thurs Aug. 17th unlike Firman they each took the time to help us. Firman should seek training in how to speak with customers respectfully. read more

I suppose I almost HAVE to like this USPS location, since it is closest to my house, but actually... I can still be critical. But, no need. This is actually a pretty great branch. There is usually a long line on Saturdays, even when it's not the holiday season, so keep that in mind and plan accordingly. They do have a 24/7 lobby for automated needs, but that might not fit your specific reason for visit, so be sure to check for hours ahead of time. Even when the line is long, it still moves pretty steadily. They also have a quick drop off if your package is already ready to go. Unless you need a receipt, you don't even need to wait; just drop and go. The team here has always been pretty friendly towards me, and also towards everyone else. There are a couple of people who go out of their way to make the customers happy, and they stand out very well. The décor leaves a lot to be desired, and the entire facility is in desperate need of a clean and renovation. It is a bit too dark in the waiting area (beyond the lobby) and the PO Box room as well. But these are aesthetic complaints, and hardly worth more than a one-star ding. Still worth noting, though. For a USPS location, I'm happy calling this one home. Not sure why but encountered a rude employee who spoke to me like I was dumb, and I'm not dumb. We had a moment, people were staring. It was uncomfortable. There was also no communication about the line, or why they picked people behind me in line to go in front of me. Best staff ever. I've been mailing a lot of homemade gifts recently and find myself frequenting Crofton to avoid Bowie (tragic customer service there). I swear, I have yet to meet a better group of employees...maybe Trader Joe's can put up a good fight. Here, they remember your name, sing, dance, smile, tell jokes and just are happy to be alive. Comments are base on customer service! This location has some of the rudest employees assisting customers. Some of the women are old and angry, please retire. The men are--well just out there. I do not feel brains are required to work at this location. There is one employee Keith/Kevin (short bald man with glasses), brainless when it comes to respecting people. The same people who are paying for the services that keep him employed. This location of employees can only be a reflection of their superiors. AND baby, that "ain't saying much! Perhaps all of the friendly employees that other reviews have mentioned have left this office. I went in to inquire about wedding stamps. I tried to call ahead of time, but no one picked up the phone. After waiting for a couple of minutes (not a bad wait), I got to the front of the line and smiled kindly at the employee. Having gone to Bowie Post Offices, it is easy to compare them with this one. First of all, it's a big one. I went in the middle of the week, so I didn't experience the long waits as some of the other reviewers noted. Getting into it was a little tricky because I end up going down an access lane for postal employees only. But after I realized it, I was happy that the parking lot is one of the bigger post office lots. A electronic kiosk was at the entrance which allowed me to extend my POB in California. Cool. Too bad this isn't the post office in my zip code. read more

My official post office is in Bowie which I try to avoid because of poor service - extremely slow and inefficient - smh. I go out of my way to go to the Crofton post office. The workers are efficient at keeping the line moving and really understand the US postal service provided. Whether I used the Crofton Post Office to return merchandise to ensure that it is not lost or tampered with, or sending a box overseas to military installations where the post office helps me to make sure my labeling is correct, Crofton is my post office of choice. read more

Ummmmmm... Can I give this place a negative star??? This place is hell on earth! The lines are long as ever and the employes are just MISERABLE! They act like the the Starbucks person gave decaf when they ordered a double shot of espresso! I went there to mail a package with my 3 children. I was struggling with my baby my 3 year old and my 4 year old. I waited with my kids for what seemed like 15 minutes in line as there were 10 people in front of me. When it was my turn I smiled and waited and waited for another 5 minutes since she was shuffling papers and packages. She then gave me a head nod to tell me that she was ready. When I got to the counter she didn't say a word. I greeted her by saying "Good Morning, I have a package to send" and she still didn't say a word!!!! She only told me the amount I had to pay for my package. So here is the kicker, I went to pay with my AMEX Card and ID. She then told me that I couldn't use it because it wasn't signed. I told her that I had my ID. I honestly forgot to sign my new AMEX card and told her that. She said she still couldn't use it. Keep on mind I had all 3 of my kids with me! So then gave her my Visa card which is signed See ID. She hands it back to and states that See ID is not my name!!!!!!! I politely told her that she didn't have to be so nasty!!! I paid with my debt card which also has See ID on the back and just put my pin # in. I have never in my life received such horrible service in my life! It was like she was getting off on being nasty. I have nothing but respect for government employees and try my best to be kind because I understand the pressures and stress that they may have but she was simply unbearable. read more

USPS is a joke. How is Priority Mail (which is supposed to be two day delivery) mailed out November 23rd delivered December 5th? Had an expected delivery date of November 25th. WHAT HAPPENED! My Priority Flat Rate Shipping boxes ALWAYS come damaged but this one is ridiculous. Why they even delivered it in the condition that it was is just stupid. Should have just claimed it as lost because it was obvious that it was accidentally thrown on the ground and run over twice before being thrown in the trash compactor. Don't send any items you care about through USPS. They really have no pride in the quality or lack of service you pay them to provide. Use UPS or FedEx. read more

Crofton Post Office is a good place when it comes to their staff. Friendly, wonderful people. The facility, though, could use some help. The machine in the front that is supposed to help make transactions quicker is often out of service. If that were fixed, it would make for a much more pleasant experience. read more

Waiting 15 to 25 minutes in line, with as few as 10 customers is not uncommon. One teller in particular (bald with glasses) uses the USPS as his personal playground, going beyond customer service and engaging in long personal conversations, mostly with female customers, and the service suffers for almost everyone else. He actually went as far as to pick out a pretty blonde, 6 places back in line, to jump ahead of everyone else. Very sad. If I could claim another post office as my local one, I would. Shantel was absolutely amazing, extremely helpful to my needs. On each and every occasion I spoke with her she made me feel as though my issues mattered, she took care of my (mail issues) needs prior to me hanging up. All the Staff in the Crofton Post Office has always been exceedingly kind and helpful, on the phone as well as in person.
