The librarians, while sticklers for proper decorum, rules, and lovely quiet, are kind, patient, and good with remembering names and faces. This location, part of the fine Anne Arundel County system, features a decent selection of hardcover and paperback fiction, nonfiction, etc. They have a large and well-displayed kids section featuring books, DVDs, and music. They have 10 computers for the internet. The layout of the interior is nice, open, and very bright due to high windows in the atrium. Check it out!

I came in today hoping to retrieve it, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. I completely understand that putting it in the drop box was my mistake. However, since it had been there less than a day, I was surprised to hear it was not in the lost and found, especially after being told that items like that are normally placed behind the desk. Unfortunately, it seems the book may have been taken instead. What upset me most was the lack of concern from the staff member helping me. When I asked if I could leave my name in case the book turned up, she walked away before I even finished speaking. A little empathy or willingness to help would have gone a long way. Mistakes happen, but the complete lack of accountability or concern is what guarantees I won't be returning.

Instead of being greeted professionally, the employee looked at me with a blank, lifeless expression, as if I didn't exist, and simply told me to wait, even though there was no one else there. She gave me a condescending attitude and made me feel as though I didn't know what I was doing. When it was finally my turn, she seemed more interested in avoiding the transaction than helping me and told me I could just use the kiosk instead. Customer service requires basic respect and professionalism, and unfortunately I experienced neither today.
