I have been waiting for a replacement MVA document for which I have to sign. The Lanham office SAYS it tried to deliver on March 22 but I was home all day and NO ONE knocked or rang the bell. They also did not leave a note. Then they claimed that they attempted delivery on Sunday March 23. I was at a scheduled MRI and had been told BY THE DMV that the earliest attempted delivery would be Monday, March 24 so I thought I could attend my MRI without missing a delivery. However, if I had been told that they would be here Sunday, I could have rescheduled the MRI despite being in intense pain. Yesterday, Monday, again -no delivery. Today I went to the website but it was a horrible experience. Their system asked for the tracking number but I was cut off after in putting only half the numbers on my phone keypad. I tried several times and I KNOW I had the correct number. Later, I went to my porch and found mail, including a notice that the Lanham carrier could not deliver and "were sorry they missed me." They did NOT miss me. I have been near the front door all day. The carrier made NO attempt to see if anyone was home - did not knock or ring the bell - just left the stupid note. I requested an investigation via the main post office about HOW to get my package but that was before the carrier put delivery notice put in my mail box. What is wrong with the Lanham Post Office that the carrier will not due her damn job and knock or ring the bell so an old lady can get her important MVA document???? How much effort does it take to ring a bell or knock on the damn door???? read more

I have no idea why or even how this post office location is still open to the public, the representative there, specially the female responsible for handling passport request/ applications, is extremely unprofessional with no costumer relations skill. This location has the most incompetent staff, and supervisor that over looks the complaints from costumers pertaining to the staff disrespectful manners. read more

Was really impressed with the staff. We came in totally unprepared--without a box, etc. The lady was so patient and helpful and even tried to help us save money. The other lady was super nice too. She helped my daughter tape the package correctly. And, we even got there close to closing. I did not expect them to be so helpful and kind. Great customer service! read more

Don't Go TO THIS POSTAL OFFICE, IF YOU DON'T LOOK AFRICAN AMERICAN or maybe, even a Person of Color, especially, while wearing a face cover! I went to the post office to mail things out to my family during this Pandemic/Social Distance/Distress time in our society, and when I entered the post office, there was one customer at the window counter finishing up her transaction. Another customer awaited her turn in front of me standing in line on the left side of the customer counters. Typically, the line is on the right side of the customers' counter, but because I noticed that no one else was in there, other than one other person in line, I assumed that the line position changed to the left side. I stood behind the customer in front of me who was on the left side of the counter. The postal worker called to assist this person, and while I was waiting for my turn, another person entered the post office and lined up on the right side of the customer counter where the lines are usually formed. When the postal worker called for the next customs, I went to her window, and she questioned me if I was next in line? I said yes I was, and the person in line behind me, responded tooa that I was next. The felt that the postal worker was rude, and she didn't question the person in front of me. She stated that she was passing on information to me that the line starts on the other side of the counter (left side). My concern wasn't her message, but how her message was presented and received. Her approach was rude, unprofessional and accusatory! I'm not sure what she's familiar with, but who or what adult would go into a post office, or anywhere, to cut one or any person in line? I asked another male employee to speak with manager, which I was able to and expressed my concerns. The manager listened, apologized and said that she would address the issue. As we were talking, more customers had entered, when an older African American woman started yelling out to me that the postal worker was not rude but telling me where the line is. This woman was not there when I entered the Postal Office, but she felt the need to give her unnecessary input in saying many things such as I'm lying, you'll think that you can come in here and do what you want. I asked her what does that mean, and she insinuated that I knew what she meant! I then asked if she was being racist? She said if that's what I thought then......It made me realize that her behavior toward me was because she did not see me as a person, human being or someone of hers and the postal worker's race. People are dying and are afraid during this time of the unknown Pandemic and Social Distancing. RACISM or any other negligent behavior is unacceptable! I completed my transaction with another male postal worker, and Now, I'm afraid of the retaliation by the workers with my package. I was guaranteed that my package would reach my family in three days ( by Saturday, 4/18), and if it doesn't, or anything brings harm to my family, the Postal Office and shift workers will be held accountable. Really sad and unexpected experience!! Those of us that are still employed, we should be grateful and not take it for granted because without the publics financial business and support, more jobs will be cut. read more

HORRIBLE I dropped off a letter on Saturday 8-8-20 around 11:15 am at the lanham location for two day service and the woman working asked what was in the envelope (trying to size it) and just speaking honestly, I informed her it was a gift card. t was supposed to be Tuesday and it's now Thursday and conveniently it has yet to get there! This location contains some of THE MOST incompetent people I've ever had to deal with. I've had packages lost/rerouted quite a few times here. It's absolutely ridiculous. I've filed complaints with USPS, but that doesn't seem to work. Prime example, my package was supposed to be delivered on Friday. Today is Saturday and it's still not here. I call and they tell me, they never received my package even though the tracking clearly says the package was scanned in their facility!!! Seriously!!! read more

UPDATE: The package was redelivered today, I am beyond thankful to the Post office staff that helped make this a very happy morning for me and my love! Thank you! This rating is could be temporary based on what happens tomorrow. But It must be noted, I sent my bf a package to his job, as I have done many times before From LA to Lanham MD. He works at a restaurant and lounge until the wee hours of the morning so I'd rather he get gift boxes during the day, not at home where he isn't there to sign for it. I was never told that the address included a suite number because its a Restaurant and Lounge but in a shopping center. Missing the suite number never prevented gift boxes from arriving prior to today. But today I get a text saying the package was undeliverable and being returned to sender. To say I was livid is an understatement. Not only is the name of the restaurant on the label with his name, it also has his phone number. EVEN if you are new to this route, I doubt there is a plethora of restaurants and lounges in this shopping center. I'm willing to bet there is only 1. Given the box says PRIORITY allllll over it, its obvious the sender paid extra. You would think the mail carrier would do everything in their power to have this box delivered rather than waste a customers money by returning it to the West coast when there is sooo much information on the label that would facilitate finding its destination? Where is the common sense? Where is the brain required to do this job? This clearly was not the normal carrier because we've never encountered this problem with packages being delivered before. His birthday is in 2 days and I'm going to go postal if this gift box comes back to LA. I called the 877 USPS # which does not give you an option to interact with a human, so I called the local Lanham PO and spoke to a really nice gentleman who answered the phone and has a brain. He completely agreed with me that this package should not be marked returned to sender. He tried to find the box but I supposed it was still on the carriers truck. He was really nice, and he put a note on the desk of the carrier with the tracking number and the missing suite number and a message, DO NOT RETURN TO LA, take to the Restaurant listed on the label! But since he wont be in early in the morning I have to wake at 4:30 AM to reach them at 7:30 AM to ensure they find that box and do what should have been done already...Deliver it! If my BF gets his gift box tomorrow that nice gentleman with a brain who answered the phone today will change this 1 star to 5, if that box comes back to me and my BF birthday is on the 8th, I will NEVER use USPS again and will fight to get my shipping fees back. read more

Horrible. When I first went to this location in April 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the service agent was not wearing a mask -- in spite of the Prince George's County Executive Order that was in place requiring masks in all public buildings. This was also prior to the plastic shields being in place at the counter. I went again today, got the same lady (the only one working) and still no mask. At least they now have the shields in place at the counter. And no manager was on duty. The equally disappointing experience, after waiting over an hour in line, was the poor customer service and bad information, which was confirmed by my calling USPS customer service at 1-800-275-8777 afterwards. The agent wouldn't give me a refund for an Express delivery that didn't happen. I had the original receipt, which included the tracking number, but she said I needed the back of the shipping label and a letter from the receiving post office, and that I needed to get a refund from the sending post office (Upper Marlboro.) Each element of those instructions were incorrect. I do not advise going to this location at all. I only went because they were open until 2pm on Saturday whereas the other nearby locations closed at 12pm and 1pm. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever seen. The mail is delivered to my business after 6 pm when we close at 5 pm. They expect us to wait until they get here even though we are closed. My carrier is on vacation more than he works. The service at the counter is poor. They are not friendly at all. The post office is a mess and not clean at all. We have to wait in line since they rarely have more than one teller available with 6-10 people in line! read more

Line is ALWAYS long. The clerks move extremely slow. In addition, one highly unprofessional woman who goes by the name of Ms BrownSugar (Clerk 05) always has a nasty attitude, never greets her customers, nor does she thank them. I had to ask her, "What happened to GIFT, where you greet, inform, finalize, and thank the customer, Do you not use that anymore?" She was shocked that I even knew their acronym and stated "Yes, we do." Then sarcastically asked me "How are you?" Well, guess what? By then it was too late. If a customer has to ask you where are your customer service skills, you really should NOT be in customer service. That was a few months ago.--Today, 12-3, I went in and she called "Next." I walked up and smiled, and she said nothing, except "What do you need?" On top of that, I explained I needed to mail a few packages and need all the different rates. She told me with an attitude 3 prices--that was it--no explanation on the differences. So I had to ask her to explain the differences between all 3. I told her that she is very unprofessional and I was tired of it. I let her know that I would be calling the cust serve hotline. Then 1 envelope needed tape . It was the mailer that I had already paid for, with cute hearts on it. The label was not very sticky. So I asked her if there was tape. She had scotch tape and put 1 small piece on. Huh? What happened to packing tape? Everything she does is with an attitude. Maybe she remembered me from last time, when I had to let her know about GIFT, and that she was supposed to use it, so she continues to treat me rudely. Bottom line, the woman with the short haircut that works right next to her, always has a smile, greets and takes the time to inform me of all my shipping options WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED. She just understands what professional means. Then another man saw my daughter with the box I was mailing and came out from behind the desk to tape it up for me!!! Again, I did not even ask him for help. He just understood what customer service is. It's hard to get A1, 5 star service one day, and then come back and wind up with someone like Ms Brown Sugar. I feel bad for her bc clearly she is miserable at this job, and maybe she's concerned that her clerk position is almost obsolete due to machines. I don't mind, machines are faster and don't have nasty, unprofessional attitudes. I will be calling 800 ASK USPS and writing to the General Postmaster as well to inform them of this woman's representation of USPS. read more

HI , on March 1, 2017, I accidentally took my box (broke computer to this post office. When the lady called Brown Sugar told me it was alright and she would put my box into the Fedex pile that would get picked up and taken there, I was very thankful!! But then I went home and for the next several days kept looking to see if that company got the broken computer I had bought from them? So I couldn't find it anywhere Fedex or the place I bought it from. I decided I had better put a call in to the Lanham P.O which was March 13th and low and behold that computer was still in that same pile place ! I just couldn't believe it all that time left at the PO. Well, I'm not sure who's fault it is ,but I hope after this review someone higher up will look into this situation.
