As others have mentioned, package is lost with zero accountability from UPS staff and nowhere to turn for help for a very important medical prescription. I've called the call center in India over 15 times and get the same script every time: "it's being escalated", "we'll contact the local facility", and my favorite "we'll call you back in one hour." Spoiler alert, no call backs and no package. Those same representatives are not able to provide useful information-- they can't see where the package is. The can't get ahold of facility staff. There is no customer-facing staff at the facility. When I ask customer service representatives to speak to someone in the United States, they refuse. This is horrific customer service and if this is before the expected 30,000 layoffs, I don't want to know what it will be after. It's a delicate custom package that I am worried about losing or being stolen. They received my 3 packages ordered from a Vendor 3/30. 3/31 they said an attempt to deliver but we were closed and will reschedule the next day, despite not being closed. A reschedule noticed was posted online each day until 4/2. A call to a supervisor at 301-386-8132 alerted me our packages were locked on a trailer and will POSSIBLY arrive Wednesday the 7th. read more

The driver was in the Capitol Hill area for hours and knew the access point closed at 5. The driver conveniently delivered EVERYWHERE else in the area until the access point closed. I'm fairly certain that the drivers at this location stole the birthday present I shipped to my sister. Lots of suspicious delay updates regarding "severe weather conditions" (what is severe about sunny 45 degrees?) and one notification about how there was no one available to deliver the package. UPDATE: The overnight delivery package was eventually delivered a week later. I trusted UPS with some very important documents that needed to be delivered the next day, and that's the service I paid for. I will never trust the company again. And a refund? Forget it. Then that disappeared from the tracking information and it has said "delayed" ever since. 5 days later for an "overnight" package. Customer service was useless. Gave me the phone number of the Landover office, but helpfully said, "Call every 15 minutes because they don't answer the phone often". How about, they don't answer the phone ever? I've been trying to call them for 5 hours and all I get is a constant busy signal. I guess they take the phone off the hook first thing in the morning and put it in a wastebasket or something. I went to the distribution center since I am having the same issues with a package as the rest of the recent people leaving reviews. The customer center closed in August 2024 so there is no representative to assist. I spoke with a driver in the parking lot who said they are backed up from the snow and not making deliveries at night/when freezing to avoid ice. He said there was no one who could find my package for me that has been there for a week. He the said to be patient and just wait for the package to come. He had no explanation why it was out for delivery three of the 5 days it's been at their facility. I also called the help line to the call center (India) who said a local number would call in 60-90 minutes and no one called me so I called back and finally they said someone local would call in 45 minutes and I never received a call back. Pretty epic failure by UPS to maintain delivery standards more than a week and a half after a storm where all roads are now plowed and passable. read more

I have been waiting for my package to be delivered for almost a week. I have received several updates saying my package is out for delivery and messages saying that my packages will still be delivered that day just a little late. And this has gone on for 3 days. Each day it showed that the package was loaded onto the delivery vehicle. I called ups and was told my package would be delivered and how many stops the driver had before me, never any delivery. After the third day of calling and complaining I was told I would receive a call about my package. When I finally received the call I was told that package was told lie after lie. I was told that my package was still on its way, that my package might be still in the shipping container on the yard and that it wasn't delivered because the driver may have been called back to the yard because of the bad weather conditions or something else. All of this after the tracker has shown my package out for delivery three consecutive days. And when the person is caught in her lies she gets smart and doesn't want to give her name. Very unprofessional to say the least. Shortly after getting off the phone my tracker said no estimated delivery date and then back to saying it's on the way. But she told me she didn't know where I was getting my tracking information from. And this package contains important things for my mom's funeral on Saturday. read more

Unfortunately I have had terrible experiences with the UPS Landover processing center. Two separate times (one in May one this past week) they had a package out for delivery to me. I had a few packages delivered to my home. When the delivery driver walked me to my door and put my packages on the floor in a strange way(I have ring camera) I started going through them and he left the building. I noticed one of the packages wet and damaged so I went outside. I asked him why was that particular package wet and damaged and why previously had he given my packages to someone up the street without my knowledge. He then started verbally assaulting me and threaten to come back to my home and kill me. Police were called and a report was filed. I immediately reached out to UPS because his behavior is unacceptable and they should not have a person working for them and threatening to kill customers. They stole my 14,240 USD Rolex watch. I dropped off a package that contained a Rolex watch worth $14,240 US dollars on the 23rd of June. It was supposed to be delivered to Hong Kong within 2 days. However, after a day, the system did not show any updates beyond the drop-off confirmation. Realizing this was not normal, I visited the UPS store and inquired about it. The staff assured me that such delays were common and advised me to wait until Monday to see if there were any changes. I also contacted UPS customer services multiple times, but received the same response. On Monday the 26th, there were still no updates in the system. Concerned, I immediately initiated an investigation. Later that day, the investigation was closed with a note stating that UPS was unable to contact the recipient. I called UPS twice and was informed by both agents that UPS had located the package. I requested them to continue shipping it to the intended destination. However, there were no further updates in the system the following day. I reached out to UPS again, and this time the agent advised me to wait for one or two more days. Finally, on the 28th, the system indicated that all merchandise was missing, and the empty carton had been discarded. UPS would notify the sender. This made no sense to me, as the package was securely packaged with three hard-layer boxes, making natural damage unlikely. I consulted a UPS employee who informed me that the system showed the damaged box had been found at a main UPS hub located at 8440 Ardwick Ardmore Rd, Landover, MD, 20785. Online reviews of this location indicated a pattern of theft involving expensive packages such as phones and jewelry. I visited the hub in person. However, one of the supervisors expressed doubt about the expensive item being sent. To substantiate my claim, I showed her pictures of the box and the watch. She disputed that it resembled a genuine Rolex. I assured her that its value was approximately $15k USD, to which she asked if I meant $1.5k. I clarified that it was indeed $15k in US dollars. Due to our lack of understanding, I decided not to engage further with her and requested to speak with the drivers/loaders manager to report the issue. An employee informed me that the manager would return in an hour and suggested leaving my phone number for a callback. Aware that I might not receive a call, I declined the offer and insisted on waiting in person. After a few minutes, the employee returned and informed me that the supervisor would not be available and that the only option was to leave my phone number and wait for a call. This situation left me extremely frustrated. and they never called me as my expected. I gathered all evidence and I am waiting for the final decision from the UPS. Be aware of this place. read more

On two separate occasions, I recieved electronic notifications that attempts to deliver had been made. No delivery was attempted on either. I searched for a written notification around my door and wondered why the deliverer hadn't knocked or used the intercom. It dawned on me that the notification was bogus. I had taken off from work and was sitting in my living room watching tv as I always do when expecting packages. No one ever came nor was a written notification left. Maybe the driver was in a hurry & lied about making an attempt but my neighbor said it happened to her as well. If I could specify what delivery service to use when ordering online... it would be Amazon... at least they have delivery instructions on their site and so far have ALWAYS followed those instructions. This location needs to be investigated. Since relocating to this area I have consistently had issues with obtaining packages. I now get my packages automatically rerouted to a UPS access point but every now and then, depending on the size, some packages are sent to my home instead and are never delivered. Every single time this happens, the package is marked as "delivery attempted," (conveniently at the same time stamp, which tells me it must be the same employee doing this) and I have to go to this location and force the staff to obtain my packages from the drivers and hold them at the location. Then I am forced to return later in the day to retrieve the packages myself. Today a supervisor told me over the phone that she "doesn't know why the package was marked 'delivery attempted' at that time because he wasn't even out delivering packages at that time." The drivers are stealing packages and UPS isn't doing anything about it. I'm going to continue to report this until the thieves and the employees who are enabling them are held accountable. read more

Last autumn some friends and I road our bikes on the GAP trail and C&O Canal Towpath from Pittsburgh to Washington DC. After our adventure we needed to ship our bikes back to California. We called around to several bike shops and shipping services and the price was either the cost of a new bike, or there were no boxes available. We were just about ready to give up when I called Don at the UPS Store on 15th Street NW in Washington DC. Don suggested a money saving option, gave us a price that was more than fair, and even helped us disassemble our bikes. When we ran out of time, he packed up the bikes for us. We returned to California and within the week, received our bikes, expertly packaged for us to reassemble. Don is the kind of employee that took ownership of our shipping problem and delivered well above and beyond our expectations. He gave us thanks down the best customer service experience I have ever had. I hope he can be commended for a job well done. When I'm in DC I will always bring my shipping to Don at the UPS store on 15th Street NW. read more
