After researching wedding blogs and asking married friends which post office they used to send their wedding invitations to be hand canceled, I decided to use the Wilson Blvd's post office even though I live in Chinatown where there are closer post offices by my home. I dropped off my wedding invites this past (60 invites) Monday and (the remaining 25 invites) Friday and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. On Monday, I dropped off our large batch and there wasn't a line. I simply dropped off the box of invites and the gentleman accepted them and said they would be mailed out that afternoon. Invitees who lived in Vienna received their invites the very next day with (2) red stamps over the four stamps in the corner. When we arrived on Friday to send out the last batch, I stayed in the car while my fiancé hopped out to drop them off. He came back and said the woman who received his box hand stamped the invites right in front of him and congratulated us on our upcoming nuptials. This experience is a far cry from what I received at Union Station with our Save The Dates this past February. Not only did it take (2) visits but the envelopes were hand cancelled with black ink AND they ran the Save The Dates through the machines when I paid an extra $.10 for the hand canceling due the wax seal behind our envelopes AND had to delay sending them off because I had to special order 10 cent stamps which came two weeks later as the post office had an underwhelming stamp selection for being an actual post office. The post office also stated only one person in their office was "qualified" to hand cancel my envelopes, which is an issue when he or she is not there every day. While the staff was nice, the entire experience was unorganized and pretty frustrating. After all my efforts and in the end, my Save The Date envelopes were both hand canceled and ran through the machine and you couldn't see the beautiful Maine stamp I had procured from eBay. Thank you, Wilson Blvd PO for taking such great care of our very expensive letterpress invitations which took me three months to design and have printed, with hand calligraphy envelopes and antique stamps. You gave the same amount of care handling my invites as I took in creating my dream wedding invitation suite and I am grateful. read more

Making a trip to the post office is never fun - it's about as fun as going to the dentist, and slightly less painful than the DMV, but you usually expect long lines, slow-as-molasses workers, and disgruntled employees. This is definitely one of the better post offices in the area, and the best part is that if you're driving and it's on a weekday, you can usually find parking close by. Not right in front of the post office, as it's a bus stop, but you can find something on the hill (on Wilson) and it should be less than a minute walk to get to the post office. The post office is on the small side, and there aren't a ton of workers inside - maybe one or two. But the post office isn't that busy, at least when I've gone in the late morning or early afternoon, and the line moves fairly quickly. I've gone to post offices in SF where I've had to wait 15-20 minutes before. The workers are friendly, nice, and pleasant to deal with. This is my new go-to post office in the area. There are a good amount of food trucks and lunch spots in this area too, if you're making a post office run during lunch. read more

This post office is so much smaller than my post office back home! It's not quick either. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon around lunch. Yes, I should have expected a line, but the rate that the line was moving was dreadful. The man behind me left after 10 or so minutes because we hadn't moved at all. The staff maybe slow, but they're friendly and attentive. One of the ladies behind the counter made sure that the women who had messed up on her packaging didn't have to wait in line again, even though the lady insisted it was her error. When it was finally my turn, the lady behind the counter was joking about her lunch break. She quickly helped me out and was helpful when I asked questions concerning the delivery date of my package. Overall, the service is very helpful but it is slow. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're on a short thirty minute break from work, but if you have time it works. read more

Usually a trip to the Post Office is a miserable experience- at least it was when I lived in DC and the staff were rude, unhelpful and acted as if YOU were interrupting their day. The Courthouse Post Office is the complete opposite!! The staff are always warm and welcoming- they smile and greet you. In fact, I was in to get stamps to mail wedding invitations- when I came in a few months later, the girl behind the counter remembered and asked how my wedding was, I couldn't believe it. Every single employee makes your day in a world of inattentive & rude customer service. Fortunately I live close, but even if I didn't, I'd want to come back here just to interact with such wonderful people. read more

Great professionalism, Kudos to Maria Luz, she advised me the clever way for international shipping, even advised what size box to use, consolidate the shipments into one to be separated at the destination location that saves a lot of money. By far the best Post Office I have ever been to. The staff is very friendly, will crack jokes with you, super efficient and helpful. Although it is small, it has everything you need including birthday/holiday cards, gift cards, themed boxes and envelopes along with regular boxes/envelopes. read more

Had to come back and edit my review as I was in today and it was a much better experience. I was served by a man called Zain, I think, who was very pleasant and very very helpful. So maybe I just caught one of the other members of staff on a few bad days! The location is quite convenient for me and most of the time there is on street parking nearby. You can't park right outside as that is a bus stop but there a lot of spots along the road before it and a few after it. read more

This is the BEST post office. I work for a local invitation company and we often need to mail wedding invitations. Over the years, post offices have gotten worse and worse about hand canceling. And even the post office that do hand cancel, often pass you the stamp and make you do it yourself, which isn't terrible, But not here! Not only will they hand cancel, they will do it for you :-) Every time I've visited the employees are happy, friendly and jovial. Joking around, not just among themselves but fully engaging with all the customers. Smiles all around and I never feel like a burden like at so many other post offices. Never thought I'd be compelled to write a review for a post office, but here I am. This particular PO is right across from my work so I come here often. Every time I go in, either Zain and Luz are always on the ball. They are such great people. Amazingly helpful, kind but still efficient and just chugs through servicing customers. Yes this is as good as it gets when it comes to the USPO. OK, could be a little faster but that isn't due to staff here but to understaffing. Everyone is friendly and helpful--must be their supervisor is a decent person for them to have such a positive attitude. Been going to this post office for 7 years because it is near my work. It is usually busy, due to understaff, so the lines are long. Avoid coming here between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Seems as though that is the peak hour when everyone gets off work to stop by before they go home. I am currently waiting in line for 20 mins and there is only 1 person working up front with about 15 people waiting in line. As for service, half of the staff is nice, the other half, not so nice. One gave me an attitude because I wrote the address in the "wrong direction", vertical instead of horizontal on the manila envelope. read more
