- International package arrived on Monday afternoon (May 6th) while I was at work. Came home, got the usual pink slipper at the door. - Went online that evening, redelivery section which also offer me "customer picks up" option which I chose. I even wrote a note telling them to make sure the package stays in the post office for obvious reason, just in case. - The next day (May 7th, around 2:15pm) went to pick up the package here. Took them few minutes finding my stuff. An older Middle Eastern lady employee at the counter told me, the package is currently in transit for redelivery. I got furious right away, explained to her simply what I did online, PLUS pulled off my phone right at her face showing USPS confirmation email "We've received your request to pick up your package at a Post Office" - My request was plain and simple with a clear proof. That old lady pretty much ignored everything with ice cold expression and said "We are redelivery your package as you requested online" But if I chose redelivery option then she would've receive the date I wanted the carrier to redelivery my package. But it was pointless to continue arguing so I left. As a result, my package didn't even show up at all that same day. Of course. - The next morning (May 8th, 9am) I went to US Post Office here once again but right when they opened. They located my package within a second without any problem. That's the way it should be. But the main problem remains. Redelivery on the website is absolutely horrendous. Even when you choose an option "customer picks up". The automatic confirmation email will say customer picks up. BUT on the article detail it says requested REDELIVER as well as update on tracking number of your package, it will say "Redelivery Scheduled". So the best 0 star award goes to that older lady with ice cold attitude and her immature customer service, well deserved. ** One very positive note, an older Indian lady employee named Tika was the one helped me out with my package (May 8th, 9am) She was outstanding and very friendly. This is my local post office. I've always gotten good consistent service from the folks here. The workers are pretty friendly, and relatively efficient. I got mad respect for them. They are always trying to be helpful, instead of dodging work. I came here once decked out in a suit to pick up a package, and the nice lady complimented me and told me to be careful and to not mess up my threads. The workers here seem to enjoy what they do, and my mail always comes to me on time. I had my mail on hold when I went out of town, and the mail stopped delivery and started up without a hitch. I even came in and picked everything up and didn't have to wait in line. Its another good Westover establishment. read more

The post office is OK in terms of in person service. But I mailed a check from the post office that ended up getting fraudulently altered and several thousand dollars taken from my bank account. A call to the US postal inspector did not yield results. They just said it was another case of check washing and there probably would be no formal investigation or anyone charged with the crime. Don't put anything in the outside mailbox because apparently keys have been made and given to people who don't work for the post office. Go inside if you have to mail something. read more

When it comes to post offices, this place is pretty amazing. I am used to big-city post offices which earn every headache of a stereotype in the book. I don't come back to Arlington too often, and rarely need to use the post office, but when I do I drink Dos Equis (just kidding). This place has never had a long line, and though there were only a couple of us waiting, a guy came out of the back to actually open another register to get the remaining people helped. The fellow was really friendly, talkative. Brightened my otherwise bitter day. read more

It gets the job done. As with all POs, the hours they're open don't really work if you have a real job. Beware the Asian lady behind the counter; she will try to up-sell the crap out of you. Nine times out of ten there is a cheaper option she's not telling you about (you'll need to speak up for the best deal). I'm regularly offered services I don't need (expedited shipping to an adjacent state when I know from experience that even the slowest options get there quickly). I've lived in a few places served by this PO and its deliverymen, and have been mainly dissatisfied with them (packages that clearly say "DO NOT BEND" get bent into my mailbox, and I regularly receive my mail well into the evening). read more

We once had a good postal manager, but those days are gone. I sent our nine bill payments once and none of them made it to their destination. When I told her the checks never made it to their companies, she said, "we'll look around for them". SERIOUSLY, do you think they'd be just hanging around the post office??? It seems like the hard working ones have been 'run off'. Only two really good workers remain..and I know most of them. read more

I retired from this office and for the Mike who said "beware of the Asian lady"..... Her name is MING and she and the rest of the staff are required to ask all of those dumb questions and "upsell" the crap out of you....and they are not allowed to tell you the cheaper rates. The post office hires secret shoppers to go around and check up on clerks to make sure they are saying all of that crap to you. If it's not done right, the clerks are disciplined. Employees have been complaining for YEARS to not have to do this...trust me, the clerks do NOT wish to sound like robots while doing their job and also some feel like they are duping customers. They have absolutely no choice. Whatever post office you go to, you'll hear all of that upselling. There are lots of things that happen within the post office that the public is not aware of.... For the person who was shocked at only two people working at Christmas...ha... We weren't shocked. The powers that be use "numbers" to determine how many employees are needed at a station. That's why most of the stations are UNDER staffed and lots of things are left undone because of no time. If there were only two, that's all they had. The Usps has really gone downhill and the employees and public suffer because of it. Even with all of that, it's a great staff there and they really do try to do their best. read more
