Tracking estimated delivery in Charlestown IN on December 19th. I signed up for tracking alerts. The package arrived in Evansville IN on December 18th. It sat in Evansville for a day then was sent right past the (Louisville KY) area to Cincinnati. Why, how stupid. The shipment sat in Cincinnati for a day and a half and then on December 20th sent to the correct USPS Regional Center in Louisville 30 minutes away from the final destination. It left Louisville early morning December 21st with no destination listed per Tracking. The package showed up December 22nd in Leitchfield KY two hours away from destination. As of this writing it's sitting in Leitchfield 3 days past the estimated delivery and not even close to destination and no estimated delivery date. OK I know the standard line, it's Christmas time and they're busy YA DA YA DA. If you bother to follow the tracking, busy has nothing to do with it, it's incompetence. Finally, I signed up for alerts and the ONLY alert I got was when the package arrived in Evansville. All other tracking was done manually because I hadn't heard from them. There needs to be a total housecleaning from top to bottom at USPS and replace these clowns.

Good grief with the stamp pricing increases!!!! Well we recently had yet another postage rate…read moreincrease of, I think, four cents for first class U.S. mail. Yup, Forever stamps increased from .78 to .82. All rates increased, postcards went up from .61 to .65. Ouch! I agree with Yelper Friend Susie L., that I enjoy buying stamps online and having them delivered to my house. It's easy, convenient, and there's a great variety of selections to choose from so you can have fun with your postage! Several of my friends participate in Post Crossings which is a post card "club" that you get international names and addresses of participants and send out post cards to each person you'd like to interact with. I tried it for a while and it is fun; however, it got old for me and I don't do it anymore. It is fun to see all the post cards of the world my friends have received and read about their lives in their countries. International post card postage is now $1.75. It makes a great and appreciated Christmas gift to give these friends international post card postage stamps as well as post cards! I appreciate our United States Post Office and I do feel it is an underappreciated service that the post people provide! I also understand the cost of living has shot up and we are all experiencing inflation. Thankfully, due to automatic bank drafts, smart phone apps, and online payment services like Venmo and PayPal, I don't need a lot of stamps.

The reason for this review is to point out that some decisions are made nationally and cannot be credited to my local Post Office. This current review is to give notice to all customers that the USPS has once again submitted a request for another price increase for services provided by all Post Offices in the United States. The price increase has officially been approved and will take effect on July 14, 2024. For all information about the price increase you can go to pe.usps.com/pricechange/index Prices of interest to me and most customers are the following price increases: First class letters (Forever stamps) currently $0.68 will increase to $0.73 Postcards currently (Forever Postcard stamps) currently $0.53 will increase to $0.56 International 1 oz (Forever International stamps) currently $1.55 will increase to $1.65 There are increases available on the above website for additional weight and specific types of mail that I have not listed. My suggestion is if you frequently use the USPS, get to your local Post Office far in advance of July 14, 2024 to stock up on Forever Stamps. The other option that I have used before is to go online and purchase Forever Sttamps that you may want but don't wait until the last minute. I understand the need to make the services of the Post Office pay for themselves but I can't resist also wanting to save money when advance notice is available.

My wife, nine-year-old daughter, and I walked in on a Friday in September to renew our daughter's passport. Even though they have walk in hours at 9am on Fridays, we made an appointment for 10am online. Right away, Cherry helped us. She was very patient and kind. She took our daughter's photo, copied a few documents, and walked us through the completed application. We were on our way within 15-20 minutes. This USPS is inside the National Postal Museum in the building that's the first federal building named after a woman. It's spacious with all the things you'd expect- stamps for sale, greeting cards, etc. It's right next to the Union Station Metro.

Extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience. I came to this USPS location on Saturday…read moremorning expecting it to be open during its posted business hours, only to find the doors locked and multiple customers waiting outside. Other people waiting mentioned that this is apparently a recurring issue on Saturdays, which makes it even more unacceptable. People plan their schedules around posted business hours, and it's incredibly disrespectful of customers' time to repeatedly fail to open as advertised. If this location cannot reliably open during its advertised hours, the hours need to be updated. Completely unacceptable and incredibly inconvenient.

The flip side is that the friendly & want to assist postal workers behind the counter makes the wait worthwhile. There was a three person staff today with one person floating around who had no quarrels answering questions while people waited in line. The interior was pretty much in order, supplies fully in stocked everywhere with the historic accents through out. I was able to ask a question while waiting in line, to see if there was a need to purchase tracking for a self postage package I put together. I was told no yet the packaged needed to be scanned to track. I got to the counter, smiles for everyone, got my package scanned & was good to go. A positive outcome as we know the visit to the PO are not always a happy go luck excursion. I'm glad I strolled down Penn Ave to one of the national historic sites in the Federal Triangle area to get my postal needs taking care & with good customer service.

Got there and was told they do not have an agent on staff and haven't for months despite what it says on the USPS website. Staff was very rude and unapologetic about the situation. They just kept pointing to a sign about walk-ins being available at the MLK library - NOT A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. Don't waste your time - book a passport appointment at another post office (and call the office directly to confirm)
