A customer was having difficulty operating the machine, yet the two employees behind the counter were engaged in personal conversation and did not offer assistance. There were no other customers in the post office besides myself and the woman using the machine. After observing this for a while, I approached the male employee and asked if he could help by taking my packages. There was a three person staff today with one person floating around who had no quarrels answering questions while people waited in line. I was able to ask a question while waiting in line, to see if there was a need to purchase tracking for a self postage package I put together. I was told no yet the packaged needed to be scanned to track. I got to the counter, smiles for everyone, got my package scanned & was good to go. A positive outcome as we know the visit to the PO are not always a happy go luck excursion. I recommend Van Ness or the gentlemen at Macarthur Post Office who is truly helpful and a problem solver. I accomplished an identical task in a fraction of the time.
