Tracking estimated delivery in Charlestown IN on December 19th. I signed up for tracking alerts. The package arrived in Evansville IN on December 18th. It sat in Evansville for a day then was sent right past the (Louisville KY) area to Cincinnati. Why, how stupid. The shipment sat in Cincinnati for a day and a half and then on December 20th sent to the correct USPS Regional Center in Louisville 30 minutes away from the final destination. It left Louisville early morning December 21st with no destination listed per Tracking. The package showed up December 22nd in Leitchfield KY two hours away from destination. As of this writing it's sitting in Leitchfield 3 days past the estimated delivery and not even close to destination and no estimated delivery date. OK I know the standard line, it's Christmas time and they're busy YA DA YA DA. If you bother to follow the tracking, busy has nothing to do with it, it's incompetence. Finally, I signed up for alerts and the ONLY alert I got was when the package arrived in Evansville. All other tracking was done manually because I hadn't heard from them. There needs to be a total housecleaning from top to bottom at USPS and replace these clowns.

I had come to retrieve a package, and the clerk was ready to efficiently and professionally provide the important and valuable parcel to me without any hassle. They carry a full line of boxes and packing supplies, which is handy. Conveniently located near the Eastern Market Metro and Trader Joe's. DC had issues with mail delivery reliability early in the pandemic, but this post office and the mail carriers are back on their game now. Remember that many people only write reviews when they have a negative experience.

The little table to write and wrap packages is in front of the cashier so people naturally flock to the box area to wrap and the woman behind the counter yells at them not to wrap there constantly ... is that easier than just fixing the dumb layout? They are almost always low on boxes. I've never been to a post office where my packages disappear or arrive at their destination late. Even right now it's 2:46 and they haven't reopened after lunch so I'm standing outside in the cold. GO ELSEWHERE!!

The lines move quickly, the staff is friendly and they always have an abundance of stamps and mailing supplies. Mail is dispatched in the morning and after 4:00 p,m, in the afternoon. Staff will provide a special manual cancellation if you ask for it. The post office is located in the basement of the Longworth Building, but is open to the public. You will have to go through security upon entering the Capitol complex. It is easily reached by tunnel from the Cannon and Rayburn buildings.
