If you've never been there, finding the main gate is confusing and D.C. traffic is always a congested mess, so you'll probably get frustrated, even using GPS. The gate guards seem cool, well cooler than the ones at Ft. Belvoir and some others posts.
Very small post, Henderson Hall side for the Marines is even smaller.
It's a politically correct post (probably natural given the proximity to Washington D.C.) with a plethora of "sexual harassment" brochures, posters and notices along with"women's cancer" pink ribbons and "domestic awareness" flyers or posters literally everywhere, even the bathrooms and gym but considering all the CSMs on this post, you get hassled way less than on a FOB in Afghanistan or at Disneyland in Kabul.
Clean, quiet and center mass for entry to D.C., the Marine Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.
Limited housing but it's nice, well cared for and pleasant.
The USO staff are laid back and MWR staff are very informative, helpful and friendly.
There's pool tables, a couch and a big screen t.v. that people seem to crash out in front of and table tennis.
The dining facility staff are helpful, friendly and easy to deal with but the food is pretty mediocre.
Some nice views of D.C. on the north end of the post in the direction of the stables.
Around fall it looks really pretty.
There's just enough parking on post and some people have either cool or hilarious stickers on their POVs.
The chapels have the 1700s pointed look which is alright. read more
