The reason that there are either 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews must be the delta between visiting Anthony (5 star gent) or Yvette (the human USPS version of Ursula, the villian from Ariel). Yvette feels she possesses some authority over us line-standers and uses it to frustrate, inconvenience, and generally play favorites. She will literally pull people she knows out of line to help them, and others she'll ignore and be on her phone or whatever while the line grows. Her name has come up in horror stories on all the neighborhood listservs, etc. I have no idea how she still works there...oh wait, it's USPS. I feel tension between the other two (delightful) employees and Yvette all the time. Somehow I think she's the manager. Photo of line at noon, not a postal worker in sight!

The staff here at the 'Eastern Market' post office were so very kind. I came in to wrap and mail off some poshmark sales & they greeted me immediately. Also asked if I needed any assistance. I wasn't surprised so much at the fact that they had to work the day after Thanksgiving...it was the disposition of the postal workers that really warmed my heart. I told 'Anthony' a gray haired, black bearded gentleman how their facility was clean & how their kindness went a long way. We talked about other post offices I frequented (he knew each one) but how this one by far was the best experience yet. He said everyday felt like Christmas working at the post office which I thought was sweet...with all the packages and what not :) Made a few more posh sales today, so I think I'll go back and visit them tomorrow. Customer Service really goes a long way.

Anyone???

The worst post office! And in a prominent area of Capitol Hill... They should be embarrassed. At noon on a Tuesday, ONE person working and a line of ten. Not even a stamp machine to help service customers. Oh wait, did I just say help and service when referring to the US postal system? Oh I crack myself up! Now they guy behind the counter was very nice, but he seems not to let anything stress him, like long lines with cranky people.

Dismissive, unhelpful, and incredibly rude staff. I'll drive to any other USPS to avoid this one.

They're back! Four…read moreFREE COVID rapid antigen tests. Ordered on 9-26-24. Test kits arrived 9-28-24. Decent turnaround and very timely as I used four of my stashed kits over last week when I wasn't sure if my symptoms were a cold or COVID. Cold. Whew! Order kits here: https://covidtests.gov/

I'm back with another review. Some of these people are the height of incompetence…read more Bought an item that was shipped from Los Angeles. It left L.A. December 16th using Priority Mail. Tracking estimated delivery in Charlestown IN on December 19th. I signed up for tracking alerts. The package arrived in Evansville IN on December 18th. It sat in Evansville for a day then was sent right past the (Louisville KY) area to Cincinnati. Why, how stupid. The shipment sat in Cincinnati for a day and a half and then on December 20th sent to the correct USPS Regional Center in Louisville 30 minutes away from the final destination. It left Louisville early morning December 21st with no destination listed per Tracking. The package showed up December 22nd in Leitchfield KY two hours away from destination. As of this writing it's sitting in Leitchfield 3 days past the estimated delivery and not even close to destination and no estimated delivery date. OK I know the standard line, it's Christmas time and they're busy YA DA YA DA. If you bother to follow the tracking, busy has nothing to do with it, it's incompetence. Finally, I signed up for alerts and the ONLY alert I got was when the package arrived in Evansville. All other tracking was done manually because I hadn't heard from them. There needs to be a total housecleaning from top to bottom at USPS and replace these clowns.

What can I say? The Postal Service varies so much by service location and the quality of individual…read moreemployees. This listing is for the Headquarters of our United States Postal Service. The reason for this review is to point out that some decisions are made nationally and cannot be credited to my local Post Office. This current review is to give notice to all customers that the USPS has once again submitted a request for another price increase for services provided by all Post Offices in the United States. The price increase has officially been approved and will take effect on July 14, 2024. For all information about the price increase you can go to pe.usps.com/pricechange/index Prices of interest to me and most customers are the following price increases: First class letters (Forever stamps) currently $0.68 will increase to $0.73 Postcards currently (Forever Postcard stamps) currently $0.53 will increase to $0.56 International 1 oz (Forever International stamps) currently $1.55 will increase to $1.65 There are increases available on the above website for additional weight and specific types of mail that I have not listed. My suggestion is if you frequently use the USPS, get to your local Post Office far in advance of July 14, 2024 to stock up on Forever Stamps. The other option that I have used before is to go online and purchase Forever Sttamps that you may want but don't wait until the last minute. I understand the need to make the services of the Post Office pay for themselves but I can't resist also wanting to save money when advance notice is available.
