Don't come here if you have deadline. People seem nice, but the pace is very relaxed.

The service was terrible; the staff were very aggressive and impolite. I needed directions, but they just said no.

Local post office located in West Springfield, Va. they are open M-F 9-5 and Saturday 9-2. They have boxes outside the building to put envelopes in as well as inside. They also have a self service machine that only accepts credit/debit cards. PO Boxes are also located at this location. This location also has appointments for Passports. Admittedly I'm not too thrilled to go to a Post Office. It is better than the DMV. Whatever you do, try to go here mid morning or early afternoon. This will help you avoid the always in a hurry and impatient Kevin and Karen's. West Springfield has quite a few. Yet the folks here do a good job moving the lines. Here the employees are quite friendly. My biggest issue is that USPS isn't necessarily the cheapest for shipping. Do your homework, as there are other carriers. They are competitive for PO Boxes. Parking here usually is a cinch. Rolling Road has some quick drivers. Yet if you're in the area, this works for shipping or getting stamps. read more

Most US post offices seem to be the same - a mix of smiling, helpful employees (making the most of the sometimes confused, grumpy, or rude customers in line), and then there are the eye rolling, condescending employees (who have little patience for most everything in life). Today I was met by the latter. Until today, my frequent visits to this post office were all exceptionally positive (and that's why I'm giving 4 stars), but this particular employee was not only blatantly rude to the sweet granny before me, but also managed to unnecessarily bring me down with her ugly condescension... you're making your post office look bad, Karen. When a customer arrives at 1:59 (by the clock on the Post Office wall) on a day you close at 2:00, then you should let them in. Honor the hours posted on the door. read more

I go to this post office frequently to drop off packages. Most of the employees are very nice and helpful. During the afternoon hours the line gets pretty long and moves slowly. I always go in the morning for this reason. I've never had an issue receiving mail or having mail get delivered from this post office. read more

Startled by someone pounding on my storm door. Was the postman with a certified letter. Not my regular postman. He had no mask, no gloves and wanted me to sign. I signed the electronic handheld thing they carry and he handed me the letter and told me to sign the green card on the the back, I took the letter, closed the storm door and proceeded to sign, as I was signing it, he reached for my doorknob and proceeded to open the door! He actually opened the door to my house without being invited to do so. And he was standing about two feet away from me with no mask. The letter was from a consulting group regarding an eminent domain issue on our block, so this means he stopped at every single house on our block with the same signature requirement (at least 6 before mine.) Which means he was in contact with several other people doing the same thing, handling the same electronic device, etc. before he got to me. I called to complain about this but the person at the West Springfield Post Office didn't seem to care. She said she'd let the carrier know. I'd like you to let a manager know I said. She said she would, but I'm pretty doubtful that that is going to happen. I told her this wasn't my regular carrier and that I love my regular carrier and to please let the manager know that as well. This person, whoever she was didn't seem interested. She told me that the masks wouldn't be required until Friday. As if the virus knows what day it is. I didn't not appreciate being potentially exposed like that. The deadly virus is still going strong. read more

I visited this post office today for a new passport, I was helped by Sunisa. 2 yrs ago she also assisted me with my kids passports. She is always so friendly and provides the best customer service. I had a great experience at this post office! I got there right before the noon rush and one of the employees was so kind and helpful in helping me find the exact type of packaging I needed for my items. She even took the time to explain to me which would be most cost effective for me based on my shipping needs! The person who helped me at the counter was also very friendly, and I appreciated his patience when I asked about shipping prices. Overall, I really appreciated the customer service here, especially during a busy holiday season. read more

Saturday October 8, 2016. Location: USPS Postal Center Rolling Road, Springfield, VA Needed to mail an iPad (tablet) to a friend in Rochester, NY. I was unsure about how to package it for mailing and the speed for delivery so I grabbed a medium Priority box. When I got to the counter a USPS staffer named "Victoria" waited on me. I asked a simple question. 'Do you think this packaging would be appropriate for what I'm mailing?' Victoria looked up at me and responded by saying, "Sir, you can look over there at our selection of boxes or on the other side." I said: 'Well, I'm aware of the boxes but would appreciate your recommendation.' Victoria: In a very rude tone. I have no idea what to tell you." I went to the person on the floor who appeared to be her supervisor and she made 3-suggestions, including bubble rap and a smaller pouch. Then at at different counter another staffer gave another suggestion. So, back in line I find myself headed back to Victoria. Here's how our conversation went. V: How would you like to send it? Me: What are my options? V: Sir, it is not my job to explain that to you! Me: Well, your colleagues did, why can't you? V: Why must I have all the answers for you? V: She tosses my package back to me and walks away. When she came back out she waited on someone else and starred down the counter and smiled at me. It was then that another staffer shared with me privately that they are aware of her behavior but there is nothing anyone can do. They said she cannot be spoken to. I assume that meant she's in a Union and cannot be fired or reassigned without some sort of penalty. Sad. read more

In one instance I tried to renew a passport here. Everything was in order; photos, application, birth certificate.. the full monty. Came in during a weekday to avoid peak business hours. The representative said in very less-than-professional tone, "you must have an appointment to renew a passport." Why? I asked. Because is causes congestion at the counter. A glance around the facility and behold, there are THREE USPS counter reps and TWO customers! Getting this application processed wasn't going to hold anyone up, but Brunhilda would have none of it. So I asked if we could make an appointment for next week (my next off-work opportunity to get in to this "royal court"). Oh no, 4 to 6 weeks lead time is required. "Ma'am, can you make an exception? We are travelling in 8 weeks for an overseas vacation?" "NEIN!" was the reply from this party member of the Gestapo. On a separate occasion I came by to pick up a piece of registered mail. I brought it to the counter and had the misfortune to queue up to this same harpy. "I'm not going to let this woman get to me" I thought. But when I handed her the card she looked back and me with a countenance of complete disdain and said "You're at the wrong Post Office, this has to be picked up at Brookefield Plaza." Her tone was that of a someone scolding their dog for crapping on the carpet. You can bet I'll take her advice and go to ANY other post office. This woman personifies a govenment bureaucracy Her name is "Victoria." I thought is was just perhaps she didn't like me, but then I saw how she treated other customers, more of the same. When I read the reviews below that mentioned her by name, it came as no surprise. This woman needs to find another way to make a living. read more

This post office straight up sucks. I just tried to send a care package to someone back home who's down on their luck and in need of help. These incompetent neanderthals wouldn't let me send the package because they claimed the "mobile power packs" I was trying to send would "blow up on a plane". That is completely false because I've brought the exact same power pack with me ON A PLANE in my carry on. The guys here have apparently never heard of a "cell phone power pack". No, you dimwit.. it's not just "a loose cellphone battery" or however he worded it.. These were also extra power packs that came from where I work as a trade show item to give away. They were all shipped to us FROM A PLANE! read more

It's either a good day or a really bad day here. I noticed (from the several times I've been here) that it starts to pick up in the 10am hour then at the 2p hour. Sometimes the employees here are friendly but there is a woman named Victoria who really needs a vacation because it's like she has all this stress bottled up and it shows with her attitude. Huge thank you to the wonderful people at the West Springfield post office! Yesterday afternoon I forgot my wallet on top of the mail deposit bin. I didn't notice until after it had closed for the day. My mother in law went back today right when it opened to see if anything had been turned in. Not only did they find it, they had mailed it (with tracking!) the previous night and I now have it securely back in my possession. read more

Was serviced by Victoria for passport services, she was rude, dismissive and rushing me the entire time. Then she had the nerve to say make sure I don't take her ink pen home with me. Very humiliating experience. Manager was not on site so I wrote a nice email to Mr. William Lloyd, district manager for Northern Virginia's USPS stores.
