Today I found out I can skip the line and just use the self kiosk, just the option to print from QR code was tucked away under 'label broker'. This self-kiosk seems to have more functionality now (can order stamps too), which is great to see. Wish there were more of them. Pros: +a few self kiosks that can print a label from a QR code (label broker option) +organized +ample packing supplies +staff tried to periodically see if people can just use the self kiosks vs waiting in line +plenty of parking -PO boxes Cons: -staff can be a bit apathetic but that's kinda typical USPS -could have more staff working at the counter to speed things us -parking is a bit cramped -self service kiosk scanner wasn't working when I was there

The Merrifield Post Office, using post office logic, removed all but one small drop box in the…read moredrive-thru lane. And without adding pickup times, this remaining box rapidly fills up. This morning, I stopped to mail four items, and found that the box was stuffed full. Not wanting to leave my items exposed to whatever, I tried retrieving them. Along with them came half a dozen of other people's mail items. Being a good citizen, I did the post office's work. Entering through the only operating door (for at least the last week), I dropped the entire batch inside. This would be a classic example of Zohran Mandami's definition of bureaucratic complacency on the part of the post office. The Merrifield Post Office is beyond disreputable and dysfunctional. My only reason for using it is convenience, but even that is becoming shaky.

Parking is the biggest challenge. Every time I go here, the spots are almost always taken. I'm not…read moresure if they can add more. On a plus note I like the drop off mailbox lane up front. It probably decreases some of the volume. Once parked roll on in. They offer a lot of services here. A pleasant and efficient staff. Don't go to this one during Christmas as crazy busy. Yet id like to thank the men and women here. They have better rates than the other carriers. Also they've modernized substantially. That is a positive. This location is close to a lot.

Where they never deliver your mail and say that they do and lose it. I've had only bad experiences…read morehere. Last year for my birthday, the mail man delivered my shoes my dad bought me. Then cameras show he takes it back because he thought he delivered it to the wrong address. I call up the postal inspector and they tell me to fill out an Online form to get my $100 back. The online form will not allow me to file a complaint because I don't have a certified mail number. I call this post office. They say to fill out the online form. I come back they say I have to fill out the online form. After 6 months of trying to talk to managers and so forth I give up. Then they stop delivering packages to my door and try to stuff it in my mailbox. When my mailbox clearly gets full after a few days, they take all of my mail and tell me I have to go to the "distribution center" to pick it up. I go to three different locations around my house and no one can tell me where my mail is until I get to this location. The manager "gives me a talking to" for not picking up my mail in my mailbox. After waiting about an hour I finally get my "mail." This has happened multiple times. The last straw was that they said they tried to deliver something to my House door but the note was in the mailbox. I was home the entire day and my cameras show no one trying to deliver anything except I did take Amazon packages from my door. They leave a note saying I need to come to the distribution center to get my package. I go there and they said they accidentally sent it back to the sender. Sorry. No recourse. SOL. I can't believe this. I am considering filing a legal complaint. I spoke to the postal inspector so many times and have gotten no resolution on any of my issues except bureaucracy. I have to take off of work to go to the post office so I'm losing income from this. No wonder the post office is set Uo for failure.
