One of the worst manicures I've ever had. It looks like a child painted my nails blindfolded. I have a different shape on every nail, color isn't even... It took an hour. 1. I asked for a simple design of two stripes and she said she couldn't do it 2. I got asked three times each by 2 different people if I had gel on my natural nails or acrylics. The photos do it no justice honestly. My nails came out so SO bad and I wasted $50 at US nails. I asked for almond and this is what I got, they were bumpy, way too short, uneven and somehow round almost. She didn't even soak my old nails off that I came in with she ripped them off using another nail. My cuticles and nails weren't touched (no filing, trim) she literally just went straight in with the fake nails after taking off my old ones. Also, not photographed but there was powder mixed with other nail stuff left under my nails and skin after she finished. She was extremely stern and somehow ended up being the one upset when I asked her to take them off and for a refund. 0/10 overall, save yourself the time and money do not go here!! read more

I started going here about a year and half ago, always very impressed until today. Made appointments for me and my mom at 10. We picked our colors and sat in the pedicure chairs my lady didn't say a word to me, my moms lady was very friendly and kind. I don't mind not talking but any time I asked her for something she seemed very annoyed. She started cutting my toe nails and felt a really sharp intense pain in my left big toe. I look down and she that she had sliced me open on the side of my toe nail. Didn't offer an apology or anything till I made it clear to her how much pain I was in. She put whatever that blue stuff is on my toe a few times to help stop the bleeding but when I got home by sock was filled with blood. I get accidents happen but her overall attitude sucked about everything! I can't remember the ladies name but her station is all the way in the back of the salon. read more

The nail polishes are old and cheap. Every time I go I do UV gel and pedicure. My hand and feet never matches! The colors are way off! Their colors are cheap, never what you see on the sample ! This is my go to nail salon. After searching Albany for a reasonably priced salon with consistent outcomes I finally found US Nails. Everyone at the salon is super friendly! Bring a picture of the design or colors you want from Instagram or Pinterest and they will match it! My nails stay perfect for almost three weeks and I'm a nurse! A FORMER REGULAR I was skeptical to post this because I had previously posted a 5 star review. It's almost as if after I posted that review, the next 3 times going to US Nail was awful. I shouted them out on instagram, we were super friendly with the owners and in the end, they did not appreciate our business at all. They stopped caring about making my nails look good once they realized I was a regular. They got too comfortable. The last time going to this salon was my last time. Pictured below. I had to ask for lotion, and the owner said "no I only do lotion for regular manicures, not gel." That really pissed me off. I tip these people $10 bucks on every $30 manicure I get which is more than a lot of people do. This was among many reasons I wont be returning after being a faithful client. My nails look awful, they charge 10 extra dollars if you want them to make your cuticles look nice. read more

Exceptional!!! I'm not from this area, walked-in, my acrylic nails were needing help. Greeted with a pleasant welcoming, fast, efficient & exceptional service. Peter explained my options dip powder versus acrylic, he showed me and explained differences to make an informed decision. I have been getting my nails done for years, I have never had a technician as fantastic as Peter. He took the time, to properly care for my nails, listen to my likes & dislikes, found the perfect nail color, with suggestions for better color results and sharing nail care tips with me. It was pleasant to have a conversation with Peter, whom treated me like a long-time customer and was funny. Well, this was my first experience at US Nails. I called to schedule an appointment for an acrylic fill and came in at my scheduled time. They asked me to wash my hands and no further instruction. They were all with clients so I just sat down and waited...20 minutes until Peter called me over to his station. I personally run and business and know how important people's time is, so naturally, I honor it. There was no apology for the delay at all. I went and sat with Peter, he asked what I was looking for, so I told him and gave my color. He shaped the nails very well and did a nice job with the gel polish. I paid for my service and left thinking I was on the fence about going back. Well, 3 days later, two of my nails had chipped gel polish. I hadn't done anything out of the norm and have been getting gel polish for over 5 years without this ever happening. So, I did what anyone would do, I called back and let them know so they can correct it. I went back in and Peter was with another client so another person corrected and said "you probably hit them on something", and I assured him I did not. When I walked past Peter he didn't seem concerned or curious why I was back so soon. Lastly, on the 7th day, another nail now has chipped paint and another is bubbling. It took my lady 45 minutes to do my pedicure- it was a french tip, and she did it backwards. she started with a white tip, and then only put 2 clear coats of nail polish on. and then my nails, awful. so messy and i'm absolutely livid. I'm not sure I understand these five star reviews. It was an okay experience, but nothing special when I went recently for my pedi ($25). I arrived without an appointment, but was seen right away. The shop is small and nicely put together. There were not as many polish selections as I would have liked. I had two different people work on my feet for whatever reason; from what I observed, another employee had a difficult time with a manicure and they swapped. Both people were nice, but I got a very basic pedi. $25, even up in this nail wasteland that is the upstate, still gets you a bit more of the niceties at the other salons I have been to. My first person was also watching tv while she worked on my feet, which was clearly distracting to her at points. I was also pretty hot while I was getting the pedicure, which was uncomfortable. It was a nice day and they had the door open, but there wasn't much air flow. Paying was also not as prompt as I would have preferred; just as I was about to ask to check out, they came over, but I was over it at this point. I was not feeling well from being overly warm while I was in there. The employees were nice and it seems like they had a friendly rapport established with some of their clients who appeared to be regulars. I see absolutely no reason to return, however, despite the good reviews on Yelp (including by people I know... difference of opinion, I guess) because my own experience was lackluster. read more

They are complete life savers. I have been been going here for years now but this weekend Amy went above and beyond and just proved how amazing they are here. I wasn't able to get in and was in a time crunch so went to rainbow nails on central; biggest mistake. I was getting nails done for a wedding, I ended up texting Amy who got me in after I left the rehearsal dinner for the wedding I was in the next day. Amy saved me! She pretty much has to completely file and reshape the nails that I just got done hours prior. The nails were completely disgusting and Amy transformed them to look beautiful. read more

Why 3 stars? They decided to help themselves to a $20.90 tip after writing down 20% on a $27 Gel Manicure. I didn't realise until a few days after but was offered a gift certificate for the $14.90 they stole from me but they took my request to please have cash back instead. I mean it was an honest mistake as my hand writing is messy; but still was pretty presumptuous to think I tipped 50%. I do not recommend this salon. I have very high standards for my nails, and the way I was treated was not up to par. I got ANC done and the whole process was very rough. The tech was super rough on my nails and I had to constantly ask her to be gentle because she was going so rough with the file. When I was getting my previous nails soaked off, they put my nails in an uncomfortable and hot bowl with acetone that irritated all the skin around my nails. I like my nails short so you can't see them on the other side of your hand, and the tech kept them long because she said they were already "too short." I had to ask her maybe 4 times to keep shortening ONE nail until I annoyed myself with how many times I kept asking her to file all of them more. It's been a week since they've been done and the ANC is cracked on ALL of my nails and one broke off. These weird spider line cracks are visible on each of my nails. The tech left a lot of residue of powder and color around my nails, and when I asked her to take it off she said it will come off in a few washes. That is not salon quality. I get my nails done regularly and this has never happened before. I will not be returning and honestly I regret paying. $35 for a shitty job is not worth it. read more

So I saw all the great reviews on Yelp and I was in desperate need of a Mani/pedi. My normal nail salon is closed on Mondays, and I was in the area so I decided to take a chance. My pedicure was great - there was an amazing massage at the end and who doesn't like a nice foot rub? As far as the ANC...it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Thankfully it's not super thick and they are probably better than most other salons but my technician left one hand with shorter nails than the other. I had a really great nail shape when I walked in and left with stubby nails. It wasn't the cut down that caused that but the lack of shaping afterwards and evening out. If you're good with the wide, square shape then this is a good fit. Now, I would return in a pinch for a pedicure. I'll probably not risk a $30 ANC here again, though. read more

Stopped in for an on-the-fly ANC manicure and was seen within minutes of setting foot inside. Two different people worked on my nails and did a wonderful job. For someone who likes natural nails, getting ANC for the first time was a plus because not only did they look awesome afterwards, but they were done right and appeared basically flawless. For those who don't know (like me), ANC involves a process of primer and dipping in powder (your color choice) multiple times to create a finished polish look. It cost $30 for the ANC and I also got my little one polished (fingers and toes) for $10 (just the regular nail powder, clear coats, and quick dry). Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The only thing is, they forgot to give a stamped card. Hopefully, I can still claim this when I return. And yes, I plan on returning! read more
