I went here to get a regular pedicure today. I walked in told the man I needed a pedicure and was brought to the back of the shop. When I sat down I was asked which packet I wanted lavender or green tea. I told the lady I liked lavender. While she was doing my feet she never scrubbed the bottoms of my feet she also put my nail polish on and then tried putting lotion on while my nail polish was drying and never did my toes or the bottoms of my feet. She wiped the lotion off and told meit is $50 not $35 like the price sign said. When I asked why is it $50 and not 35 I was told that I got a special scrub. I never asked for anything extra and told them I just wanted to have a pedicure. I feel very tricked and I am really upset with this situation. I don't get a lot of time to myself let alone do things for myself and this was not a good experience. The workers were very nice and respectful but I still don't like being tricked. When I explained to the owner the situation I was told "okay next time" what? Next time what about this time. Lol. There will not be a next time I am not going back. This was not worth $50. read more

Please go to a different salon. The owner and his wife were the only employees and the owner had a disgusting cough. I paid for a gel manicure and received one of the most rushed, amateur manicures I've ever received. The files and tools were pulled from a drawer in the desk. The woman only dunked them in hot water before using them on my hands. I am nervous I'm going to get a fungal infection. The owner, Andy, complained about not having any money and was clearly trying to get my friend and I to pay for more services. I'm going to find somewhere else to report this place because there is no way they're up to whatever code salons need to adhere to. Go somewhere else. read more

Tried Fancy Nails for the first time and I am very happy I did. I called ahead for an appointment for a full set. As soon as I arrived, they were ready for me. I have been to this establishment on several occasions. During this COVID time we walked up for a pedicure and Andy met us at the door to open it and immediately had handsanitizer for us as he instructed us to put our stuff down. We then had to don plastic gloves and sign a very clear wavier with info to "trace" as needed. The gloves allow costumers to safely pick their nail color. We were directed to 2 empty stations which were space apart with one tub in-between as well as plexiglass hung from the ceiling infront of each to protect staff from client. Staff were masked and gloved. They use new sponges and tools and throw away; however I did see one tech offer to put in a ziplock for you to take if you choose. They did renovate the location with a new sink station and large TV and looks more modern clean and appealing. The tubs as always have a throwaway plastic liner and you get to enjoy a chair massage and it is cleaned down when customers are done. No air blowers were used. The was no scrapping of the feet as in the past. The price was increased by $5 which is understandable with the change in practices and expense. They did a brief leg massage and moisturized and had a hot towel after. We felt very safe and will continue to support this small local long term business. read more

Today was my first time at fancy nails because in all honesty my normal salon had no power. I was so pleasantly surprised and happy with my experience. They were very polite and joked with the clients. It was a calm atmosphere and my nail tech was extremely talented. I'm so satisfied with how my nails came out (I got ANC), I am considering switching permanently to this salon after being with my other salon for 8 years. I strongly recommend this salon. I was hesitant to come here but I was in town and my nails needed a fill. I waited about fifteen minutes and was called over so the tech could start my nails. I did not catch her name but she was nice AND she knew what she was doing. These days it is often too much to ask to actually have your nails look like they weren't done by a twelve year old on bath salts. This girl did a nice job and the fill cost a mere $15.00. I noticed the employees seemed to have a good rapport with their customers which is also a good sign. This salon has been here for many years and I am surprised not to see more reviews. This will be my go to salon the next time I am in town. Very pleased. read more

After two years of patronage, an expensive nail job did not hold up. I went back to get the nails fixed and was told by the girl that she would do it for free because it had only been two weeks (normally lasting four) and she'd seen the problem before. The owner Andy spoke with her a few times in their language. I'm used to that but no one said anything to me. The girl didn't even give me a bill so I thought she was doing as she said. Then when i went to leave Andy yells at me to pay for the nail job. I had not even received a bill. They should change the name to Fancy Wallet that is all He cares about. My two years of spending there didn't matter in the least when a bad nail job brought me back. Never again. I will be speaking with a few consumer agencies about being coerced into paying when I was told there would be no charge. What a nasty man! read more

They don't do designs here so if you're looking for a cool design, this isn't the place. But they do a nice job and are personable. I'm so happy I could get in and out. Went in this evening for a full set of acrylic nails. No one said anything to me to greet me. They then proceeded to slap acrylic blocks on each one of my nails without taking the time to file them into a regular nail shape. The edges are completely square and look laughable because they don't even resemble real nails. I have been getting acrylics for years and each and every time, they file the sides to make a natural looking shape. The polish was not applied correctly and was all over my cuticles. In some places the polish is see through from where it was not evenly applied. When I noted the issues, they blamed the nail color which was a dark brown OPI gel polish - definitely not an issue with the quality or pigmentation of the polish, just application. I just would not want anyone to waste their hard earned money here. read more

I was charged $10 to remove gel nail polish. No foil was used and my hands were soaked in a bowl of nail polish remover for 30 min. I left with chemical burns on my hands and was over charged. When I said I was concerned about my skin I was bullied into silence. read more

I'm recently new to the Albany area and I checked out two salons only to find out they don't do acrylics but Fancy nail was my second stop and ended up trying out the ANC products and absolutely love the results. Andy did them and made me comfortable and his work was amazing. I'm super picky when it comes to nails and Fancy Nails outdid themselves. I ended up getting a pedicure while I was there. The lady who did it took her time and the pedicure came out great! Looks like I found my new go to spots in addition the prices are great and they have a punch card. read more

I went here for the first time last week. My experience was sub par at best. Went in for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. The girl doing my pedicure was pretty good, very attentive to the needs my feet have and my feet came out smooth and soft. My issues came when it was time to paint my nails. They switched girls and the girl who painted just threw the polish on and then clean it up with some alcohol. I also saw her diluting some of the polish which I'm not sure if that' common practice or not. During my manicure it was the same thing, slapped the polish on and just cleaned it up on the edges. When I went into the salon there was no one there but me but towards then end they started getting some regulars and I feel like the rushed me out of the chair, they didn't use any lotion or have a hand massage which is common at other places I go to. To make matters worse the shellac on a couple of my nails had dripped down onto my fingers sealing the tips of my nails. I had to use scissors to remove it. I don't think I will be visitng again. read more

$35 for regular mani/pedi. They were super friendly and very nice, but once they realized I didn't feel like talking much they left me alone (just wanted to relax). They have the great pedicure seats with massages. The only thing was I think their method was slap the paint on, and then clean off the excess from your toes. Didn't matter since my nails and toes came out looking great - I would go again! read more

Today was my very first time at fancy nails. I usually go to 10 perfect nails but they were closed today. I'm glad that they were! I experienced such a friendly, professional, clean and well maintained salon here at fancy nails today! They were excellent to my daughter who is only 9 by the way am I. We both received manis and pedis. I must say that this was by far the best nail salon I've been to yet. I will most certainly be returning again. They introduced me to a new type of natural nail polish today. ANC nails which turned amazingly beautiful and it was not costly at all. My daughter was pampered as well as I was. Ok I've never written a review before but I had to warn people about this horrible place! I usually go to a different nail place by price chopper but decided to try something new.i wrnt in for a fill and change of color/design. Well right off the bat the lady cut my finger with the electric nail grinder thing. Pretty deep. Blood was running down mt hand and she ignored it until it staeyes burning so bad I jerked my hand out of hers. She then said sorry and wiped it off with a blue solution. Ok.. so then I ask if I can get a design. The man came over at that point and says he will do it. He couldn't. I said no problem ill just keep the blue I had them put on. I was ready to go and my finger was on fire it hurt so bad. The man made the comment that I was probably not going to pay now because I didnt like it, which was not true! Now heres the absolute worse part, the woman who did my nails came over to where I was drying them and attempted to put her Hand in my purse to get the 15$ I owed them! She said "I help you get the money" what?!! I gave them their money and left. Seriously never ever go there! read more

Seems clean and hygienic. I was a walk-in and was taken care of pretty quickly. My nail technician was quiet, but pleasant. I got a simple manicure for $14 and I'm happy with it. There are lots of nail polish bottles, but they didn't have any of the trendy colors. It just seemed like your basic nail salon. I'll go back before sandal season for a mani-pedi for $35. read more

worst ANC manicure -She used a dirty file. She left debris in the polish- when I pointed out the irregularities in the nails and the debris she used the dremel tool to scuff up the finish but did not repair the marred finish. She used nail stuff that was at the very bottom of the bottle so that the finish could not flow onto the surface smoothly and then she just left the poorly applied surface. She then dremeled the surface so much that she did not leave enough ANC to hold up for a day-It cracked immediately but I an certainly not returning to that salon to have it repaired. I was planning to have a pedicure as well but I did not trust the hygiene nor the techniques so I declined the pedicure. read more

Myself and my girls have gone to Mindy for our eyebrow waxing and never had a problem. My 14 year old daughter saved up her allowance and "treated" her sister to a full set of nails. NEVER AGAIN! My daughter had one of her nails fall off within two days. A day later another nail fell off. Each time Fancy Nails was willing to replace the nail that fell off, but we were told if another one comes off, just come back in and we'll put another one on. I didn't sign up to take daily trips to the nail "salon". It was apparent that a new hire put on my daughter's nails. She paid for both her and her sister to get full sets. Mindy was incredible, but the person that my poor daughter got was horrible! No only did he cut her with the grinding tool, he sized the nails wrong and just put glue along the line to seal it to her nail. No wonder why they fell off. My daughter that paid for all of this just pulled her nails off tonight without a problem. Very sad. I won't even go back for our eyebrows! I would not recommend them to anyone! read more
