My nails were in need of help. I've been so busy that I went about 7 weeks without scheduling another manicure. As many mani customers like to say, my nails looked seriously "jacked up." Exquisite Nails in East Greenbush is my favorite nail salon. I was a bit concerned that I might be scolded when they saw the neglected state of my nails but everyone took it in stride. I was assigned to work with Evan who is one of the most experienced manicure experts. One of my nails was actually torn but it had also grown quite long. He found a way to salvage that nail and in less than an hour he had transformed my ratty looking nails into beautifully manicured ones. I picked red and green as a holiday theme. My nails looked so bright and shiny they reminded me of Christmas lights. I asked Evan to paint the fourth finger--so called party finger-- in bright green. That look might not suite everyone's tastes. I thought it looked festive. I've received many compliments. The salon is a clean, relaxing place with music videos looping on monitors throughout the work space. Lilly is another experienced manicure expert. Lol My manicures usually run about $35 not including tip. They do a great job and the INC polish is almost indestructible. read more

I truly don't ever leave bad reviews, but I made an appointment for a pedicure last min and I was super unhappy with the outcome. When I got there, I wasn't greeted for at least 5 min (whatever not a big deal) and then once I was greeted and sat, I sat there for 20 mins past my appointment time along with another customer who finally asked how much longer since nobody acknowledged the fact that we had an appointment scheduled. There was nothing relaxing about this pedicure and my nails were cut too short and was super rushed. They started doing extras and I had to reiterate multiple times that I just wanted a basic pedicure with gel polish. When it came time to pay, it somehow ended up costing more than any other pedicure I've ever had and they tried to tell me how much to tip even though I was paying cash (Also prices were different than listed online) Overall, not happy. Overall service was uncomfortable and I felt like there was weird stuff going on?? Wanted to treat myself to a manicure after a long, depressed episode- so decided to come here as it's close to home. First time getting my nails done in 3 years since nursing school so I was looking forward to this. And then I realized I regretted it lol- The person doing my nails (didn't get a name) was making me very anxious- she was often unnecessarily rough and huff and puffed at every thing. The whole time I felt like I had done something wrong. The vibe in the place is intense, and it appears that the staff have lots of tension. Just overall strange and unsettling energy from start to finish. Not to mention how dirty and dusty everything was. The icing on the cake was that there was a large shield with a pipe attached to it in between myself and the nail tech--and it blocked my entire vision of my hands. This place is dirty. There is (what looks like nail dust) dust all over the place- tables, chairs, partitions. There's also regular dust on the ceiling, light fixtures and cobwebs. Honestly, someone just needs to clean this place! I'm surprised the workers feel okay working there because it is so dirty and dingy looking. I went there because I had a nail crisis at a bad time. I cringed every time the nail tech used the makeup brush thing to clean my fingers bc I was just thinking about how it's probably never been cleaned. I took my daughter here the other day and it was the WORST pedicure I ever had. I felt like everything was half way done. My 5 minute leg massage was the most pathetic massage I ever had. No pressure on my legs. He didn't do anything to rub my calluses off. Didn't trim my toes. I never even got the hot towels on my legs. I live in the city and went to visit my mom for a long weekend. We decided to get our nails done together since we don't reunite often. We made an appointment for the both of us and got there on time. However, they called my mom in immediately and I had to wait an extra 20 minutes because they prioritized walk-ins before appointments. If you're going to take appointments, ONLY take appointments. If you're going to do walk-ins, ONLY do walk-ins. That rubbed me wrong because the salon I always go to at home has never made me so much as wait a second when I had an appointment. Also, when I finally got called in, EXQUISITE RUINED MY NAILS. Yes. Their cuticle work ruined my nails (on both hands) and I couldn't tell until they grew out. Now I'm waiting for the damage to go away. It was so bad that my manicurist in the city asked if I had acrylics removed... nothing against acrylics, but I've never had anything other than actual polish. Not even shellac. I attached a picture so you can see what I mean. Honestly, my experience at Exquisite was horrible. The only redeeming factor was bonding with my mom because eventually we ended up in neighboring pedi chairs. Had a pedicure today. Very unhappy. The tech cut my toenails so short that one of them bled. After drying, there were bubbles in the polish and there was polish on my toes. Also, toenail sides did not get polish. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the front end associate and he gave me a discount which was nice, but what I really wanted was a good pedicure that did not involve injury. Won't go back. read more

I have recently moved upstate and I was curious where to go for my nails. I searched through reviews on maps and then ended up downloading yelp. I came across some other nail salons closer to me but something stood out to me about this place. It was very organized and the back had a very relaxing feel. So, they are very pleasant and Lily did a great job, I got the 45 for 35 you get 4 add ones I think, they have a sale running, I asked if she bladed she said yes, that wasnt blading though, my big toe n heels get very calloused it's still the same tough and thick, the big toes are, she gave a great strong massage on my legs, and I loved my toe colors & design. My nails I had 3 repairs, I have long stilettos, Dennis did them, he did a GREAT job on repairs and shape, I was disappointed that he couldn't do my Queen Bee design so I left with clear, I work in Poughkeepsie and 5th Ave Nails the techs Are very skilled at designs. I'm sure if you just got a gel with something simple and basic it would have been fine, but Queen Bee is my Brand. And, not only is Dennis great at the fill repair and shape but he's impressively fast!! TY for getting me right in, Ive never been at any nail salon with and intercom system to call out appts, tables with numbers where you are instructed to go to, that part was loud, I want to relax when I go, as I'm loud all day. Came in this past Friday for a quick fill before leaving town on business. I made an appointment so I didn't have to wait. Was taken about 10 minutes after my appointment which I wasn't upset about. The technician did a good job with my nails and listened to my requests on how I like them. The reason for my three star rating is due to a few things. First, it's like a marathon in there. The technicians are expected to write down the time they start their client and the expected time they will finish. It made my technician rush and made me feel uncomfortable. Second, they nickel and dime you for everything. If you want a certain shape, there's an extra fee, if you want your nails cut, there's an extra fee, etc. Lastly, my fill has already grown out and it looks as if I need another in just 3 short days. My nails do not grow fast at all. It's unfortunate that this is the way the salon goes about business. I was especially appalled by the extra charge for cutting your nails, especially for those of us with acrylic nails. They grow and not everyone wants their nails to be super long. There's a bit of a talent gap amongst the nail techs. David, Tim & Tammy are great. I've had two last min appt with other techs @& I wasn't impressed Note: when picking a gel polish from the book the color may not look the same on your nail. If/when this happens & you point it out you may be met with some attitude or persuasion to keep a color you don't exactly want/like. My original review unfortunately has changed. I wasn't even going to update but received a few automated texts reminding me to. I'm not impressed. I was the first person at the door at 11. I understood appointments going ahead of me but there were two others without appointments that were taken ahead of me. I was told I'd be taken at 11:50. Come 12:15 I was taken and didn't leave until after 2. The salon itself is nice, the staff really friendly and they have an extremely cute Maltese that hangs out. Why is my review less than par? My actual nails. At $70 with a tip I expect more. You can see the red polish I had on my natural nail before putting on my set, but was charged $5 to remove my polish. A few of my tips are crooked and every line from the drill is visible. Some are thicker than others but over all My nails are extremely thick. I've had nothing but poor compliments on this set. I liked my tech and he's who gave me my last set, I'm not sure what happened but after talking to people it seems the quality of work is coming to quantity of clients these days. If you want your cuticles removed or even pushed back there's a charge. Lotion or oil after service, there's a charge. They charge $5 to shape. Shape means cut the nail with clippers here. My nails aren't terrible, they just aren't the nails you'd expect for the price. They look more like the downtown Troy/Albany $35 full set. I'll be taking this off in a week and finding a new shop for less money or going back to a salon/spa. read more

I have been a customer of this establishment for SIX years and this has by far been the worst experience I've ever had. I've recommended this place to so many people, only to be provided half ass treatment. I made an appt for my daughter and myself. Her appt for 7, mine for 730 with our nail techs of choice. The salon closes at 9pm. My nails were done at 822. The owner asked me to return another day for a pedicure and I said no, my appt is for today. He said his wife is waiting for him. While he was talking the tech started to prepare the water for my pedicure and he told me to go ahead. The pedicure was beyond subpar, I was concerned that I would be charged for subpar service. My toe nails were not filed, no lotion, just HORRIBLE service. I expressed to the owner my feeling and his response was, " I told you there was no time" ( it's 837 now, might I add and the salon closes at 9). He told me to calm down, offered no alternative, and that was it. NEVER AGAIN. read more

In the barren wasteland of East Greenbush nail salons - there are plenty of them, but they're all awful-mediocre at best - Exquisite Nails is an oasis of great customer service and perfect manicures and pedicures. They guarantee them for 2 weeks so if you get any chips, apparently you can come on in and get them fixed for free. They do such a thorough job with the services that I haven't needed to go back for that yet. I can't believe how many services you get with the standard pedicure - even warm paraffin baggies on my heels. They have SO MANY colors, another problem at some of the nail salons in this area. They are so busy that they can keep up a huge selection of fresh polish. My only thing that bothers me is how long I waited to try this place. Go now - but call ahead and make an appointment. I went at 11 a.m. when they opened last Thursday, and a bunch of other ladies had the same idea. The person who walked in after me had to wait about 30 minutes. read more
