This time I didn't ask for any modification and the drink actually tasted pretty good and not too sweet. There were a variety of delicious looking pastries, which I would try the next time I'm in the area. Brunch menu looked good and healthy. I ordered online for lunch pick up. This place is really busy during lunch but if you order online and go to the side door it's easy pick up. The online platform sent me a text when it was ready for pick up so it was great. I had the rooibos drink it was different the spice flavors were a little too much for me, but all the latte drinks and food look amazing. I also ordered the Diablo that was delicious it wasn't spicy or anything you can taste the jalapeño but since it's thinly sliced it's not overwhelming they also gave me a salad with my order which i wasn't expecting. I'm a big fan of Urth Caffé and have been to several locations, always having a great experience until I visited this one. Unfortunately, it was the most disappointing experience I've had at any Urth Caffé. When I came in yesterday, I ended up waiting over 30 minutes for my food, which is very unusual. I've been to other locations when they were completely packed, and even then, service was much faster. The real issue wasn't just the wait it was the food itself. Everything was served cold!! The mac & cheese wasn't even warm, and the bananas and strawberries on my dish were already turning brown. It felt like the food had been sitting out for a while before it made it to our table and surprisingly, the place wasn't even that busy. I genuinely love Urth Caffé, but this location just doesn't live up to the standard. Really hoping they can step it up, because right now, it's by far the worst experience I've had at any of their cafés. I unfortunately will not be back to this location. read more

Come here for your pastries and coffee! We came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was a long line to order, but they had a lot of registers open. When you are on the dine in side, it can get pretty loud, but on the to go side, it is more quiet. If you are in a rush, make sure to order ahead of time and just pick up instead. We ordered the banana cream pie, fruit tart, and the napoleon cake. All of the pastries were really good. We also got their spanish latte in the blended and regular form. I'm not sure when Urth Caffe became overhyped, but I'm always surprised at how many people come here because the food is good, but not so amazing that I'd wait in a 10 minute plus line for it. My most recent visit was a Sunday morning after visiting Vroman's. The line was only to the door when we arrived (which is not long at all) and we ordered an avocado toast, a kid's mac & cheese, grilled veggies, a "churro delight" pastry and a Matcha sunrise drink. Luckily we were able to find a table outside, but unfortunately it was near the door so we had a great view into seeing the line get longer and longer. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the mac and cheese and grilled veggies while my husband and I shared the avocado toast, pastry and coffee. The bread used in the avocado toast was probably my favorite thing, it was seedy, fluffy and yeasty. Couple things to note: Parking is hit or miss in this area and trying to find a table is kind of chaotic sometimes. read more

Today I attempted to place a take out order via phone call. I began my order and after the total amount came out to over $200, the staff taking the order said there was a new policy that limited phone orders to $50. He did not make this statement until after I verbally completed my order with him. Then he was very short and stated that he couldn't even accept my order if I provided my credit card number for prepayment. He then said I would need to go in person or order online only. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and that was that. I was still willing to support this establishment even with the astounding rise in prices and the decrease in portion size of food. Waited about 10 minutes in line to order, the food wasn't anything spectacular and neither were the drinks. It's a good place to sit outside, catch up with friends. I think this is somewhere you'd go for the ambiance and decor more than the food itself. I've been coming here frequently since it's walking distance from my place. I love the ambience and the lattes are decent. The food quality used to be much better in the past. The last 3 visits were disappointing. The food I ordered on those 3 different occasions included a salad. All three times, the greens were 1/2 wilted and mushy. Their salads used to be so fresh. I know it wasn't a one time thing because it happened 3 consecutive times in the last 2 months. The prices went up (which I understand) but the quality went down. Recently on my visit to Urth Caffé I decided to try something new so I went with their turkey burger and it was amazing. The turkey burger was on a fresh baked artisan bread and the turkey meat was very juicy and flavorful. It's hard to find a good turkey burger, but this one meets the mark. It came with a side salad and I also got a chamomile tea with some honey and lemon on the side and it was very cozy and had incredible flavors as well. I highly recommend the turkey burger for anyone looking for something fulfilling and tasty. You will definitely be full at the end of your meal, but it will be well worth it. read more

Urth cafe in pasadena is a beautiful spot on the corner. We came for an after workout dinner. I ordered the Salmon plate which was OK - a deconstructed bagel that you can create your own. For the price, could maybe have a little more. My friend ordered grilled cheese chicken but had no chicken, let them know but they were some miscommunication that he would need to buy another. It ended up getting sorted out but by the time his new sandwich came out (because they forgot to make it again initially), we were already done eating. I don't really understand why this spot is as popular as it is. My group tried a few of their breakfast items - the egg salmone, the belgian waffle and the granola bowl. While none of the items were bad, none of them were good either and certainly didn't live up to my expectations given the popularity of the place. This is a great health-conscious, earth-conscious, feel-good-about-yourself kind of café. They have tons of options--food, drinks, coffee, pastries, cookies, and smoothies. My friend had the avocado toast which was on a thick dark wheat prairie bread, and was more than filling. I had the Mexican omelet which was good, but my husband's Huevos rancheros were calling me. My friend and I spilt a Grilled Cilantro Chicken Breast with Pesto Entree Salad and a Blueberry Cheescake. The salad itself was good. The chicken wasn't dry and the salad dressing was tasty. The pesto was okay too, but I wish there was a stronger flavor since it tasted a bit bland. I also wish the portion sizes of the salad and chicken were bigger. I got their Spanish latte which is one of their most popular drinks and their sizes are huge! I got a small and their small is basically like a medium at other coffee places. They use big cups for their drinks which in my opinion makes it worth it. I also got mild so the coffee wasn't too strong but I really like it since I'm not a huge fan of coffee. It had a hint of sweetness but also not too sweet. The eggs benedict canyon had a good amount of smoked salmon and I liked how there were pomegranate seeds as the topping which had a nice acidity to it. The wild mushroom pizza was good as well and came with some sauces and grated cheese. The Italian omelette was my least favorite but it wasn't bad or anything. The omelette has a good amount of filling such a tomatoes, sausages, and cheese. We chose fruits as the side for the omelette but the fruits weren't in season anymore so it wasn't really sweet or ripe. Because of that, I deducted a star from the rating. Lovely place with plenty of outdoor seating. I don't think I would come back here if it wasn't for the outdoor seating (for my dog). The food is pricey and it was just eh. I got the Parma Panini ($18.75) and it comes with a side of salad. Nothing too special with the sandwich, just prosciutto and cheese. My partner got the Italian Omelette ($16.25). I didn't bother trying it and it did come out looking cold and hard lol. The fresh squeezed orange juice ($8) was really good, except I wish it came cold. Place is worth a second try. Overall the place is good. Seating is limited, due to individuals working on laptops and just hanging out without food or drinks. Food and coffee were good but same you can get elsewhere. The wait is crazy, 30mins for a latte. It's all more or less self service so if you need something you have to go get it. Napkins, silverware etc. also I highly recommend avoiding the water stations. I watched 3 people fill up their personal bottles putting the tap of the water pitcher into the mouth part of their bottle. Super gross and with the flu going around, it's a terrible idea. read more

It was allllll lettuce and tomatoes that were way past their date and tasted like garbage. I am so disappointed. D'Lox Pizza - the smoked salmon plate on pizza - this is my favorite thing to get here, it's just perfection! Honey Vanilla Latte - another favorite! I usually get the mild roast and it is so smooth and the sweetness is great! Every sip makes me smile :) Their coffees are special because they are shade grown and organic. It gives such a smooth flavor. They offer their coffees in mild or dark roast. When you dine in, get ready for the supersize large coffee! It's huge! I love it! The architecture is beautiful! Make sure to walk around to check out the tile details. It's mostly outdoor seating, but it's covered and during cold nights, they put the shade down with the heaters on, it's always comfortable.
