Absolutely superb. We walked into Urbanity at around 1:30pm on a Sunday, and though the place looked packed, we only had to wait around five minutes before getting a seat. The interior is stylish, all painted white brick and wood and metal. We were expecting light bites, since Urbanity mainly fronts as a coffee shop, but the food was stunning. For lunch, we split the grilled halloumi on sourdough toast and the brown sugar sweet potato waffle. The halloumi was reliably delicious, paired nicely with greens and a fried egg. But the sweet potato waffle -- oh my. The waffle had a perfectly chewy texture and was sweet without being cloying. It came with a whipped pomegranate mascarpone (holy cow so good), candied pecans, and an assortment of fresh berries. Just look at that photo! I think this waffle might rank among my favorite brunch dishes ever. A final plus: Urbanity is also just a short walk away from the Jameson Distillery, which we went to afterwards, so it's a perfect pit stop for those touring all the Dublin sites! read more

Mind blowing eggs!!! Just mind blowing!! Organic! Farm to table? Fresh? Magic chef? I guess they have it all. But oh man. These eggs!!! Just a simple sunny side up: taste like Magic!! I came here in between my important Dublin tours!! After my 10 am Jameson distillery tour and before my Guinness storehouse / warehouse/ beer magic land tour! Needless to say, I needed carbs! Food. But carbs! And protein. Also I'm not a Jameson drinker so I needed to washed out my little sips I had on the tour with something I love. Like Lattes! And champagne. Well! They have both and then some. Sign me up! Getting here was easy / walking distance from Jameson Distillery! Not great in the cold but manageable even in my very high high heels! Cobble stone roads/ so cute! Not for heels!! But this bright, happy, cheerful spot waits after all that. Getting an uber out was hard since it's located in the square/ one way roads but nothing you can't walk out to catch an uber. The place was exactly my vibe. Exposed bricks! All windows! Fresh juices/ milk! And that amazing smell of espresso. I wasn't sure what I'd like so I ask the barista to surprise me with his choice of coffee and he did. He even made a bunny design for me!!! My nickname is Energizer bunny! How does he know?!!! Coffee was as strong was their Jameson! Deliciously strong! I also got a dry, brut rose champagne. Why not! It was noon! Now the food!! The yumminess. I don't do bread normally so I got a plate but chicken sandwich was highly recommended. So I got both. And I don't know what I like more. Just best tasting simple dishes!! Amazing brunch! The one that you will remember long after you leave Dublin. They have both a great staple menu, but one with incredible specials too. Proteins get a starring role here. Really quite enjoyed the whole atmosphere of this spot. From beginning to end you could tell that the staff were just quite friendly. The bill was quite reasonable and the food was definitely spectacular. I ordered an egg dish with some sourdough with the extra sausage on the side. The jams might be the best thing at the restaurant so I definitely recommend you give them a try as well. They are homemade which one simply cannot beat! The honey for my tea also seemed to be straight from the honeycomb! I can't wait to return quite honestly. This might quite possibly be the best breakfast spot in the whole of Dublin. That's my opinion and my buddies all shared that sentiment as well once we left the establishment. It really is every bit as good as the reviews say it is! read more

Located in the Smithfield neighborhood, this joint serves up a helluva breakfast. They also serve lunch and dinner. After my breakfast experience I wished I had the time to check out their magic for either lunch or dinner. Oh well! Maybe next time. My dining companion and I started with a very unique drink: turmeric and ginger latte. Heavenly. We then did splitzies: scrambled eggs with toast and halumi with egg and veggies. Sublime. This deserved 5 stars but for the slow service (slow even by European standards). Still make it part of your list. read more

Came to Dublin for vacation and randomly came across this spot. The time difference forced us to wake up super early and this was the only spot open. The service is pretty great, but the food is astonishingly good. So good that I had to come for a second round of their delicious breakfast! The scene has a cool vibe. Very contemporary with the decor, not too fancy, not to shabby. They have WiFi, which is a must as a tourist. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Really loved this cafe. We sought this place out as it had authentic coffee and it opens early (7am on weekdays). The coffee is roasted right on premises, which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. We decided to keep it simple and order lattes and some food - I got the scrambled egg sandwich and my wife got the porridge. The coffee was very tasty as was the breakfast, my scrambled egg was cooked perfectly and the slow roasted tomatoes were an outstanding addition. The porridge also tasty and not too sweet. The service and friendliness we received from the owners could not have been better. They could tell we were most likely American and proceeded to ask where we were from. When I said Baltimore he immediately joked about The Wire. I told him how Baltimore has a good coffee scene, punctuated by a roaster called - and before I could finish he said Ceremony? What are the odds that someone in Dublin knew of Ceremony Roasters. We talked coffee and food for another 20 mins before needing to head to the airport. The owner gave us some great recommendation for other countries too. Lastly, the coffee was so good I snagged a bag to bring back to the states - what a gem. read more

The red headed hostess. Was terrible had a bad attitude. My experience as soon as I walked in the restaurant. I was on vacation with my family. Trying to get a table. So I told him can I get a table for three please. He responded with it's going to be like thirty or forty five mins. He was like you still want to wait. I said yes. He then wanted to tell me they don't accept reservations. I said okay and started to wait and notice a couple tables open. When I was looking around this guy was like can I help you can I help you?I said I was just looking around and noticed you have some tables open. He said I'm holding that table for someone. I then said you told me you don't hold table for reservations. He then began to tell me it was for someone who comes here all the time and has been coming here for a long time. I then replied with you told me you don't do reservations. So which one is it? I'm confused. He then just huff and puffed and walked off. He put us at a other table after about ten mins of waiting. And then just gave the table he was talking about to someone who just walked up. Wish that was the end of it. Then he wanted to continue with is attitude and rudeness. And told our waiter and the waitress getting our drinks. Food was good,service was terrible. Don't not recommend this place for tourists. He made it seem they were to good for my money. read more

Amazing place! I've gone here for breakfast multiple times in my brief time in Dublin. Turmeric ginger latte is a new favorite.

I had some time to kill a few Fridays ago so thought I'd make my way up to Urbanity for some coffee and a treat. Walking from my hood was probably a bit aggressive so by the time I got there (45 minutes later) I was far too warm for coffee and they were close to closing. I opted for a bag of coffee beans for later and a millionaire's shortbread. The shortbread was so buttery and the caramel and chocolate were rich and delicious. I was able to enjoy their coffee for the remainder of my week but given the distance, I'll probably stick with 3fe. Very tasty though! read more

Perfect mix of good food and relaxed coffee shop atmosphere. I had brunch here recently and was really pleased with it. I had the ham hock and sweet potato hash with sriracha aioli. It was really good and something quite different from the hash dishes I've had elsewhere. We also had a delicious vegan caramel squar,e which really surprised me, with our coffee (also very good). Staff were friendly and helpful despite being quite busy and the general environment of the cafe is very pleasant with the big glass front keeping it very nice and bright. Strolled in Saturday evening 6 of us and sat at a table with some incredibly smooth cappuccinos, vibrant Chemex black coffees, and didn't need to order any food at all. This place was AMAZING! In the cool little neighborhood of Smithfield, it's on a little side street lined with bike racks and other cafés. A close walk from my Airbnb, I was in the mood for a big bowl of porridge. Had the eggs scrambled on sour dough toast with some salad and avocado on side. That was so delicious!! I didn't love the coffee which is what they're known for. I thought it was almost too strong. It was good, don't get me wrong, but they only had 1 size (small) cup, I could've used a larger size with a drop more milk/cream, as it was too strongish for my taste. Friendly service. read more

Tucked away just off Smithfield Square in the Glasshouse on Coke St, Urbanity Coffee is like a little trip to Copenhagen. Or Berlin in the good days. Bright airy scandinavian- inspired interior that is just beautiful and not in the least pretentious or trying too hard. Just a very stylish yet welcoming space that clearly a lot of thought and love has gone into. Jason, one of the owners tells me, that Urbanity was a workshop for 3 months and apart from the chairs, everything has been made here. He is proud of their achievement and let me tell you, he's dead right to feel that way! Their beans are sourced from a co-op in Ethiopia and are roasted right in the middle of the cafe. I've never seen anything like it! Apart from amazing coffee, they offer sweet treats, sandwiches and salads, all of which are made on site (apart from the bread). I had the Reuben for lunch today and it was just divine. Urbanity is now open Saturdays from 10-4pm for brunch and, among other stuff, offers a banana and Nutella French toast that you can add bacon to. Cause bacon goes with everything, right?! I came before for coffee and i really liked it, I love the fact they have a coffee roaster machine in the cafe something you wouldn't see in coffee places in dublin. Anyway, i went for a brunch and i has acai bowl and cucsuc eggs. Acai bowl was delicious but I have to admit that eathos makes it better and the cuscus egg was too spicy for me and had so much onions. However, their menu looks good, coffee is fantastic and their baked treats looks amaizing. I would still go for the acai bowl and to try other stuff. read more

This was the only cafe in Dublin that took coffee as seriously as this Californian! The pour over was carefully timed, you could tell the barista took pride in it. We had Rwandan and Mexican single origin pours, fantastic. They provide hot milk, organic sugar etc... The food received outstanding reviews from my entire family, difficult to please everyone for sure. Presentation also get 5 stars. Pastries very different and tasty. One of my favourite cafés un Dublin! Urbanity roasts their own coffee beans in house and their coffee is excellent! Friendly and quick service, lots of place to sit. Some reviews have said this is a great place to study. I went on a weekend and they had no problem letting me use my laptop at the bar but not at the tables which was fair since it was busy.
