Urbane is insanely good for delicious salads! They offer so much more on their menu, but I often go for their loaded salads. I have yet to try the sandwiches and bowls but everything looks amazing. The Cilantro Chicken Salad feels light, protein packed and refreshing. The accompanying focaccia bread is sooo good! I can see them making it in the kitchen. Pro tip: order ahead online for no extra fee. Your food is ready to go to hit the beach! Parking is limited in the small lot. Only one stall restroom. read more

I was having trouble with the Urbane Cafe website for a delivery order and I called in and talked to Luis Salgado, he might be a manager there. Something was wrong with the website, but Luis helped me out, took my order and credit card information and emailed my receipt to me! Urbane Cafe in Ventura is always a solid choice, but my last visit to the Thompson Blvd location was next-level. I was craving the Cilantro Torta, and even though it's not currently on the menu, the staff was incredibly accommodating and whipped it up for me anyway. ​It tasted phenomenal--perfectly baked bread, fresh ingredients, and that amazing cilantro flavor. Oof. Salad was promising enough but the repeatedly dismissive manager left a really bad taste in my mouth. As a brand new client I was told that I needed to use the kiosk in the corner because they were "so busy," even though I had all sorts of questions as to how I could respect my dietary needs. During my visit, I tried two other times to get some more specific information, which was begrudgingly provided. Finally, when I pointed out that there was a rotten leaf in my salad, she just muttered "sorry about that" and didn't offer anything to help offset that negative experience. If I were specializing in fresh salads that I was serving to the public, I would be pretty rigorous about checking the leaves as they go into the bowl. Definitely a bummer meal. I ordered pick up but decided to dine in ! I got my fave the Cilantro Chicken Salad ! It is simply delicious and so fresh. Service is amazing. I was so surprised that Dahlia ( server) remembered me after meeting me a year ago! I was like what !? I haven't had that happen before. She came up to me and said, " Hi, it's been awhile but how are you?! Anything else you need? Everything ok?" Of course I remembered her too. She was so sweet when I first stopped by when this location had just opened. Props to her for being so friendly and welcoming! This location is close to the beach. Parking can be a bit hard as a small parking lot is there which is shared with other businesses. I love Urbane today and always! This is one of my go tos for a healthy lunch. read more

This is my go to place for a good meal. I love trying new items on their menu and this time I decided to try their cilantro chicken salad. It was very fresh and very tasty. Nobody was more excited than me when I saw we were getting and Urbane in our neighborhood. I had been going to the original location religiously since 2003. In the past i would eat there several times a week and recommend it constantly. Unfortunately this location is not on it the way the telephone one always is. The online app ordering is NEVER updated. Im a big fan of their soups and they seems to be permanently turned off on the app. I even called in the other night to ask if they were available and the person that picked up the phone left me on hold for over 30 minutes! I'm highly disappointed in this location. The staff seem unhappy to be there. They're constantly putting out sloppy food and getting my orders wrong. To me that screams a problem with management. Maybe they aren't treating their staff respectfully... I dont know. I will continue to drive to the telephone location when I am craving Urbane so i dont have to deal with the many downfalls of this location. Sadly, that seems like my only option. read more

I have a soft spot for the Urbane in Ventura. I guess it's because I live here a bit more importantly their food is always top notch here. Everything's cooked to perfection. I love Urban Cafe. It's a good cafe for eating and going. I have been to other locations, but this was my first time in Ventura. The cafe was clean, and the service was excellent. My favorite is an Antioxidant salad. I hope there are more drinks in the selection. There are tables inside and outside, but it would be best to have a table outside to see the ocean and feel the nice winds. There is a parking, but you can also park on the street. read more

I have only tried UC twice, but I will be returning many more times, the food I've tried is delicious. The staff is very friendly, they went out of their way to assist with everything I always have questions! The place inside has few tables, but there is an outside patio that great. Team member Crystal, made a few recommendation on what to try and they did not disappoint. Their sauces are delicious a must try. Will be returning soon to try more on the menu. read more

When I entered this establishment I was expected to release myself in there with no regrets!! No worries! Lol, that wasnt the case. Honestly ridiculous. I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was expecting basic service. Waiting forever just to access the restroom is completely uncalled for. It shouldn't be that complicated or slow. Wow, where do I even begin? Everyone that works here is so friendly and is always paying attention if there is someone waiting at the line to order. I did a mobile order today before heading to work and I forgot to order an extra peanut dressing for my salad and as I was waiting in line, the gentleman making the bread called someone to help me. A young girl approached and she was so friendly and helped me out. Just beyond excellent service!!! The food is just so delicious on another level. My Yelp friend Erica shared a reel on Instagram, so I after watching that I wanted to come and check this new location out! After spending some time downtown it was time for lunch and my kids wanted pizza for lunch but I didn't want that, so it was the perfect time to try something out! First impression was good. I like the patio area with plenty of seething options. The inside look nice, bright and clean which I like. There's some tables inside, but it does seem that eating outside in the patio is the popular option as there were a lot of people outside. Service was good, but not super friendly. I stopped by here a day trip to Ventura and was pleasantly surprised by how great the food was here. I got the ahi tuna salad which was $13.50. Insanely good price for a what was a very good salad with a generous serving of ahi Tuna. The dressing, despite its appearance, wasn't too heavy. The piece de resistance was the focaccia bread. Warm, fluffy, amazingly savory. I don't usually eat carbs but after a bite of it, I had to take the rest back with me to enjoy it later. 5/5 in value, friendly service, clean bathroom, easy parking, nice ambience. In the urban jungle, eating healthy is challenging... that is until you go to Urbane Cafe! This is a great spot to get some healthy sandwiches and salads. We had the privilege to be helped by Dalia, she was knowledgeable, friendly, and super helpful. My wife and kids had met her during their field trip to the restaurant and she was equally awesome. Dalia is truly great at her job and her customer service skills are fantastic. The food was tasty, I got the Chimichurri Steak sandwich and although it wasn't the best (my favorite here is the Southwest), it was still a good portion and fresh. My wife got the Pesto & Sundried Tomato sandwich in a gluten free bread and that one was also delicious. If you are in the area, or if you love healthy sandwiches, or even a salad, give them a try, you won't regret it. read more

The food and service is always great and we love going there every week. But just this last time we went the sweet potatoes were old and really dry. We told one of the employees there and he apologized and offered something else. We're just wondering why it's not fresh since he said it was made that day but it was the worst we've ever had. We get the salmon bowl all the time and never had that problem and also seems like the portion sizes on the bowls vary at times. But other than that, we still love going there. It has the healthiest food around and reasonable prices and the employees are always very nice and place is very clean . read more

I was in downtown Ventura looking for a place to eat and saw there was an urbane cafe not that far up the road. Parking lot is small, but there is street parking if you can't find a spot. You can order with the cashier or on the self service comp they have. I opted for the cashier as I needed to mention I can't have the side of free bread as I'm GF and needed to make sure the bowl was safe to eat. I was here with family so they all got sandwiches that come with a side salad. Our food came out pretty quickly but there was fresh bread on my bowl that I did request to not have. They said they would remake it but it was easy enough to just remove from my bowl and I was fine, no crumbs were in the salad. After I was done eating, my sis noticed on the menu they have gf bread, I wish they mentioned it to me cause I could have enjoyed it on the side since I didn't realize it was on the menu (at the bottom in small writing). Anyways, food was good minus that little hiccup and service was great too! read more
