While on my way to pick up dinner, I spotted the word "Bakery" out of the corner of my eye connected to El Cielo, and my brain immediately went: "Well... dessert has entered the chat." Naturally, I made an unscheduled detour. Inside was a dangerous number of delicious-looking sweets staring back at me with absolutely no regard for my self-control. After a long moment of serious dessert contemplation, I landed on the bread pudding. The staff member taking my order wasn't especially warm or friendly, but honestly, the bread pudding and I were already emotionally committed to each other, so I carried on. Back at the hotel, after absolutely demolishing our Greek feast, we discovered we had no remaining space for dessert. Not even a ceremonial bite. Tragic. But fate intervened in the form of portion size. That bread pudding was enormous. What began as "dessert for tonight" became breakfast for the next couple of mornings, and frankly, waking up to leftover bread pudding by the harbor felt like excellent life planning on my part. We went here for the first time on Sunday for Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas. We sat on the outside patio. Parking was easy and close to the restaurant. It's small but cute with a spacious outdoor patio and indoor seating as well. They have a nice variety of selections on the menu to choose from. The champagne was really good, it didn't make us super tired or give us a headache. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the ambiance was beautiful. And Seafood crepe French onion soups. Finally a French onion soup that tasted authentic. Rich broth with perfectly caramelized onions. Sealed with bread and perfectly melted Gruyère cheese. Croque monsieur. Nicely cut thick ham. Good light Béchamel sauce. Lots of melted cheese. Tastes absolutely fantastic. The potatoes it came with were heavy. I should have got a salad instead. But that doesn't mean the potatoes weren't good. They were excellent! Seafood crepe. Smothered in cheese, sauce and herbs. Seafood tastes fresh, crepe was made correctly. Seasoning was on point. Staff was extremely attentive and took care of us very well. So would I recommend this place? Most definitely. Glad I found it. Manny was a great server! He explained the different coffee offerings and checked on us frequently. He even was able to divide our checks at the end. The food is authentic French food! The Benedicts have authentic french bread instead of a mushy muffin like most places. The flavors were delicious. My friend also loved her quiche. The homemade salad dressing was also a nice touch. My friend ordered a Cappuccino & some pastries. She didn't like her drink, she said it didn't taste like she expected... I give them a 3 1/2 stars (round up to 4)... After about a 15 minute wait, we got seated outside on their patio next to their water fountain. Was served a lemon water and they took our drink order right away. Well, it's a beautiful little restaurant and the food was good but not great. My omelet was over done and chewy. I hosted a lunch for friends and I got eye contact with the waiter and asked him specifically to make sure that I got the check after the meal. He assured me he would give it to me. After taking our orders, our food was delivered by someone else. The waiter never returned to ask about our satisfaction. One of our guests had to flag down someone who happened to be the chef to ask for a missing order of fruit. We were not offered coffee or drink refills and had to request them. And to top it all off the waiter brought the check to the opposite end of the table and laid it down in front of two of my guests who took it upon themselves to split the bill. My only ding is that it is a large restaurant with only one gender neutral single restroom. If you need to use it be prepared to wait in line while your companion and food wait for you. No flavorings of cinnamon anywhere to be found on the croissant. It felt more of an omelette since there's too much egg? As for the whipped cream, wished it wasn't heavy cream in particular. The crepe was slightly better than the French toast. The crepe was very lighter than the French toast, but still felt a little doughy in the center? I suggest baking crepe a little bit longer or pouring the crepe a little bit thinner. Overall, I suggest anything else outside of the crepe and toast perhaps. A casual little cafe with delicious offerings. Indoors it's hard wood floors and scattered little wood tables with French doors that open out into the patio with harbor views. Indoors it's a bit warm, and will have flies due to the doors being open but this cannot be helped. The flies are surely practicing French as they fly in circles saying "Bonjour" to each other. Outdoors there's a large patio with a water fountain and glorious ocean breezes. I prefer to sit outdoors, just because the weather here is so glorious most of the time. Also it's too breezy outside for flies to bother me. Also inside there's a little bakery with the most delicious treats and the even more delicious coffee! Be sure to ask for an espresso con panna! Mmmm mmmm! Yum! Today I waited impatiently to be seated and had to ask the beautiful girl there if anyone was planning on seating me. I was as on limited time today... but I was promptly attended to after the 5 minute wait. I don't like standing near the "Please wait to be seated" sign and having to wait 5 minutes when I'm on my lunch break. Anyways... I did finally order and now waiting again. The not-so-good points: I had their bread pudding, declined the caramel sauce but accepted whip cream on top. Was not happy with the flavor of the pudding. Very buttery but not at all flakey so kind of the same category as supermarket croissants. It is still better than those because of the fillings which included a very creamy cream cheese and sweet apricot slices. It did cost like 2x what a top tier croissant should cost but I caved in the moment because I was hungry. I blame the location which is right on the ventura docks with very few alternatives. I have yet to find decent croissants around here and I'm kind of convinced I never will. This is our go to restaurant when we visit the Ventura Harbor/Beach area. The food was great, tasty as usual. There were four of us, and we had our two dogs with us. Christian was our server, who could have been a tad more attentive. I am knocking off a star for one issue. I ordered a sandwich and asked that it be made without mayonnaise, and when I bit into it, it had mayonnaise. I looked for Christian to hopefully get it corrected and could not find him, nor did he check promptly enough to redo the sandwich. I scraped it off and only ate half, I am just not fond of mayonnaise. When he finally checked on us, I informed him of the error. He assured me he wrote it as I wanted and concluded the kitchen was at fault. I would have appreciated some gesture on the bill, I think half-price would have been fair, but the bill showed no gesture of compensation or apology. I paid the bill but left a reduced tip. Hopefully, servers will learn that once a complaint of any kind is made, it should be customary for a manager to address the issue and make some measure of compensation. I would have been happy if they had made the coffee complimentary. Aside from this minor issue, the restaurant is delightful. Good food, moderately priced, and the back patio cool and refreshing with a tranquil fountain that is charming. We will return. read more

I've made better crepes at home myself they were completely flavorless. We got 2 lattes (one came out super hot and the other luke warm) a breakfast sandwich, crepes and omelet. Paid almost $100 for a breakfast for 2 people. Won't be back. In this economy if you're charging that much the food should be top notch and the service should be great.
