I left Ojai Rotie so full of delicious food & a great experience. I love rotisserie chicken and this was some darn good chicken. Seasoned so well and juicy. I loved making a bite with the chicken & all of the sides with the pita they include. In addition to the meal, we got the lamb kafta and the muhammara, both so good as well. The staff was great, so friendly & you could feel their care. Imagine sitting at Ojai Rotie on a nice afternoon, California sun shining, breeze rolling through, what could be better? I can't wait to go back here.

    What a beautiful restaurant.

My husband and I decided to take a day trip to Ojai and were looking for a restaurant for lunch. As we walked passed Ojai Rotie, we couldn't resist the delicious smell of the rotisserie chicken and we decided to have lunch here. We ordered half chicken plate and egg plants dish. Both are delicious and beautifully presented. The chicken was tasty, the side dishes were also really good. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. They have a good selection of drinks as well. The seatings are spacious. Kid's friendly. We were so impressed by how well the restaurant managed everything. Definitely recommend this place when visiting Ojai which is a beautiful small town in itself.

I got lucky! There was no line upon arrival! Fast service & wine bar on site! Chicken was perfectly cooked! Potatoes were crispy! Amazing food! Everything was 5/5 stars! Best restaurant in Ojai!

I went on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait in line for about 40 minutes. I only later found out that if you just wanted to order to go, you could walk right in and order. The line is for seating. Once you get seated, you have to go inside and order and then sit down and wait. I ordered the lamb kabobs, which were absolutely amazing. We also ordered two of the quarter chicken plates that came with two sides each. My chicken was pretty dry and it took about 45 minutes to come out. I loved the potato salad. The orzo was very bland. The harissa carrots were nice and flavorful. The tabouli was refreshing. I think I would go back for the kebabs and maybe the potato salad. Not sure I would wait 40 minutes to get seated though and then another 45 minutes for the food to come out.

Visited here for Mother's Day, highly recommend making reservations ahead of time as the line was out the door for almost the whole day. Food was amazing, Rotie Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Hummus dips were delicious. They are known for their sourdough bread and rightfully so, it was so good with their butter. Vibes are casual like picnic in a park setting, you go up to the cashier to order and they bring you your food.

    Chicken something. Idk.

Ojai first timer. Quick review: will return here every time I'm in town. FOOD: Roast chicken thing. My wife liked it a lot. The cauliflower side was not great. She didn't finish. Usually I'll be all over vegan options, but the cauliflower didn't excite me much either. EGGPLANT SANDWICH. (v) It was raining tonight, and you'd think soup would be a better option, but this sandwich was fantastic. After a quick 5k run around the town, I was hungry. This was perfect. MUHAMARA I live near an Armenian neighborhood. Excellent muhamara is something I'm familiar with. This is up there with the greats. A generous amount of pomegranate syrup and pita is plenty for 2-4 people to share. LEMONADE whew this thing was tart and sweet. Really really good. I had to cut it with a little water initially, but on a hot day, I'd drink three of these. 5/5 SYRIAN MINT TEA Goes with everything. Apparently matches well with the chicken. PARKING it's Ojai there's plenty of parking, the public lot across the street. Walk. SERVICE small crowd even in the rain. It's that good. Seating Is OUTSIDE only, and there are tables with cover and heat lamps, but it's more picnic table style. The person to seat people was not available, but I had already seen "GET A TABLE, THEN GO INSIDE AND ORDER" It's more a "cafe style" experience. Excellent in summer I'm sure. SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF, helped us navigate the menu and drinks. PRICE Average. Excellent flavors and plenty of food.

Vibes: Cute, picnic tables outside/table to order inside Crowd: Can get full but there is plenty of seating Menu: Lots of options, fusion menu Value for price: 5/5 (delicious flavors) Service: Quick Parking: Street parking (downtown Ojai) My friend and I stopped by Ojai Rotie around 7:30PM on a Friday night. The vibes are cute, with string lights and trees and lots of families in the outdoor seating area. There is no indoor seating. You order at the counter inside and they'll bring the food to your table. We shared the half chicken platter, with coleslaw/potato salad as our 2 included sides (it also comes with toum- garlic paste- and manouche-Lebanese flatbread). This place is not cheap but the flavors are phenomenal. The chicken was smoky and juicy, the pickled onions were splendid, the toum was flavorful, and the potato salad was decadent and lovely. Coleslaw was great but not the standout of the plate. Highly recommend for a family dinner or chatting with friends!

Outdoor, airy, gentle, soft life atmosphere. All outdoor patio with some patio umbrellas. Kind staff. Very feminine vibe, with singer-songwriter music humming in the air. You order your food and they bring it too you. You can buy wine/beer in a separate mini-bungalow space. The food presentation is absolutely beautiful. And the food itself is good: The one exceptionally tasty item we tried was the lamb Kafka. The 3 meatballs on sticks were so full of flavor! They are a must order for meat eaters here. The other exceptional item was the side of pommes frites - roasted herbaceous cubed potatoes drizzled with a creamy sauce. The other items we had were good and filling. Not exceptional. Avocado toast is huge with lots of avocado and other veggies. It's visually impressive. But not as flavorful as it looks. Roti chicken: the skin is very tasty. I ordered the quarter chicken and expected it to be leg and thigh. But it was wing and breast. To my surprise the breast was juicy! But if you prefer dark meat I guess you have to tell them that. With the chicken you can get 2 sides. Potatoes (mentioned above), and tabbouleh salad, which was my one slight disappointment. It was made fresh that day - which, I find, makes it less flavorful and harder to chew the parsley than when the salad is allowed to marinate in the dressing overnight. Overall a very enjoyable experience. The ambiance, super laid back summer/fall vibe and food make it worth the stop.

When you don't eat everything, salad usually feels like the safest thing to order. I love fattoush salad, so I went with that. First of all, the salad arrived with no dressing; no olive oil, no lemon juice, no herbs. I asked the server, "Do you serve fattoush without dressing?" thinking maybe this Lebanese-French restaurant had a different style. He said, "Hmm, can I take your plate?" and took my plate. A couple of minutes later, he came back with the same plate and a small bowl of dressing. I added the dressing and started eating, but the lettuce was so chewy it felt like kale. The pita chips were thick and chunky, and even after adding dressing, they were still too hard to bite into. I also wanted to try their cheese sandwich, but they didn't have it available. Overall, my experience was very disappointing.

My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner in the area and decided on this place due to the reviews and the outdoor vibes. We ordered a Rotie Chicken (half), which comes with two sides, along with deviled eggs. It was filling enough for the both of us. The food was made well, and the chicken was flavorful and juicy. Service, however, was off. When we first walked up to the entrance and were waiting to be seated, one of the staff members told us that there's a 20-30 minute wait and that she'll put our names down. We stepped off to the other side of the sidewalk (so as not to block the entrance) and waited patiently. A few minutes later, two separate couples came up to be seated, and a different staff member seated them immediately. We were confused and asked why we were told to wait, and the second person told us there was probably a mixup and then seated us with our plates and utensils. After we were seated, no one came up to us at all; it did appear to be mostly self-serve, but we saw the first person bringing water to other tables and she kept skipping our table. Overall, the food was good but the service was lacking.

The food was good and healthy, but don't come here if you're in a rush. We were seated quickly, but the food took an hour to come out and I was hangry by then.

This place is super popular and with good reason. I'm always skeptical of trying places that "went viral" on tiktok, but it seemed too good to pass up on. I shared the 1/2 chicken plate with my friend and it was more than enough food for 2. We got it with a side of the potatoes and orzo salad, which was just the perfect pairing for the chicken. The flavors are bold and so aromatic. We came at the peak of lunch hour so it was quite busy and service was slightly slow. However, staff were so friendly and everyone seemed to be in great spirits. I wish I could eat here every day !!!!

What chicken is supposed to taste like! I've done both takeout and dine-in options and both times have been delicious. Great outdoor seating area, great wine options, and of course great food. I love that they have a pick-up picnic for 4. We grabbed one and took it over to a local brewery. My favorite was the We Love Benny sandwich. Everything about it just *chef's kiss*. The dippidy dips were not just fun but fantastic! Service was okay since it's an order at counter and self seating. The service at the wine counter was so great! Love that they were able to give us small tasters while we decided on the one to accompany our meal.

However, the experience felt a bit underwhelming for such a very expensive price tag. The Food & Drinks: Pita Bread: A disappointment; it lacked the soft, hot moist texture you expect and honestly felt like it came out of a bag. Hummus: Just okay--nothing to write home about. Beef Shawarma: This was the highlight of the meal; it was actually good. Alcohol: Be warned--the markups are intense. They really gouge you on drink prices, so you might want to skip the cocktails. The Experience: The "cool factor" has dipped a bit since they stopped offering hookahs, and since there were no belly dancers during our visit (maybe we were just too early?), the entertainment was lacking. Also, keep in mind that you must be in a large group if you want to snag one of those coveted fire pit tables. The Verdict: Go for the views and the relaxed vibe, but manage your expectations on the value for the price.

Throughout the meal, I kept hearing the same comment from different tables: "This is really, really good food." And it was. Even our most restrained eaters went back for seconds. Delivery was on time as scheduled. The general manager personally supervised the transfer of the food from transport containers into our serving dishes and offered helpful suggestions on serving layout to improve flow. Presentation and execution were handled professionally, which matters when hosting an event at home. Prior to placing the final order, I studied the menu and placed a preliminary order online to establish a starting point. I reviewed it with my daughter and wife and received their approvals before finalizing. I did have a few questions about overlap among side dishes, spoke with the general manager about it, and finalized the order 30 days before the event with no subsequent changes.
