Yesterday my husband and I met a friend for dinner at Urbane Café. The Yelp reviews sounded amazing but the food was only so-so. It was pretty empty which should have given us some indication. Worst customer service I have received in a really long time! I have been here before and the food is great. My usual at Urbane Cafe is the southwest sandwich. The down side is the horrible customer service. Every time I go and this particular man helps me take my order but he is very rude. The way he says things is uncalled for and he needs to be trained on customer service. What happened? Well I went to Urbane and there was a party of eight in front of us. All good, they order we are next. The man at Urbane tells me "you are going to have to wait a long while before I take your order." I was like "okay that's fine I can wait." He then made it a point to say "well it may be really long because its eight of them and one of you. They're $60 customers." At that point I got up an left. You don't throw rice in people's face. Yes I'm a party of one but I'm a paying customer still and deserve respect. Rude customer service. read more

Always on the search for veg options and ended up here yesterday for lunch. I had a veg sandwich called the Californian that had artichoke hearts, avocado and cheese. It had some other goodies in there also - it was delicious. My sandwich came with a great side salad of field greens. The bread for sandwiches,that they bake in-store, was amazing. My daughter had the Vegetarian Banh Mi and although not traditional - it was not disappointing and she was pleased. I must say the young lady at the counter, Jaelyn, is a great asset to this location. She was very friendly, explained the menu to us and answered our questions with a great attitude. I used to come here often but the last time I came in with my mom we were both disappointed in the food. My mom got a sandwich and there was barely any chicken in it and I got my usual, the cilantro chicken salad and noticed a much smaller portion of chicken than normal. Also when we were eating I heard someone that was making the food coughing repeatedly. I was so grossed out, it's flu season don't let employees prepare food when they are sick.. send them home. Stumbled here looking for something good for lunch. Absolutely delicious! I had the So Cal chicken sandwich & my husband had the UC Banh Mi chicken sandwich. Both had wonderful flavors & we both said we would order them again. They have craft fountain drinks, we did not try this visit. I had their tea, which was great. My husband had their watermelon mint lemonade & it was delicious! Can't wait to return & try something new. Oh they bake their own bread for the sandwiches. read more

I've been here a total of 4 times. The first time I got a sandwich I really enjoyed. The next 3 times I've come they've been out of steak...I do not enjoy their other meals much and their food is slightly over priced. It shocks me how a restaurant can be out of a main ingredient by 11am. read more

I tried this place for lunch today for the first time and am so glad I did. The food is fresh, delicious and I wanted to try everything on the menu! They specialize in creative sandwiches and salads. I played it safe and ordered their club sandwhich and damn am I glad I did. Believe me when I say that it was the best sandwich I've ever had, and I've had plenty. You definitely can taste the quality ingredients complimenting each other with every bite. The bacon...Seriously,the bacon was cooked by somebody who shares the same love and appreciation! It was cooked to perfection! To complete the meal it was accompanied by a vibrant green salad that I found very light and tasty. I really do like this place. The service is always excellent, the site is exceptionally clean and the food is really fresh. Plus their decor is cool and makes me feel a little hip just being there. I am vegan and it is sometimes hard to find food that I can eat. There are actually several items on the menu that can be easily adjusted to fit my diet and they are always willing to trade my cheese for nuts with out hassling me. I would have given it a 5 except that when I went back up to the counter to ask for a different dressing they told me "it's usually 25 cents but I will give it to you this time". Seriously, don't do that unless your business is going under from the cost of dressing. Just let me have my one little joy in my vegan diet and have a little extra dressing. We used the Urbane Cafe Catering for my daughter's graduation luncheon and we couldn't have been happier with the food. We ordered the classy bites and asked they they be vegetarian and vegan and they accommodated us with no problem. We were offered 4 different sandwiches (one of which was vegan) that were all amazing. We also ordered the Caprese Skewers with focaccia bread and were equally pleased. Last Friday I went in for lunch with my sister, and everybody there was so friendly! Customer service was great. I ordered the cilantro chicken salad and my sister had the BBQ chicken salad and I have to say they were both fantastic! The food is great and the staff is even greater! They just opened and you can see how hard the staff are working and making sure the customers are comfortable and welcomed. I ordered their Socal Sandwhich on their pre-opening day, which is one of their favorites, and I ordered their Santa Maria BBQ Sandwhich on their second pre-opening day, both of which were so good! The inside of this place is very spacious and very modern-looking. Even if Urbane Cafe just opened here in Temecula, it's already making a really good impression!
