One of the few quick and delicious lunch spots in Simi Valley left, that is still affordable! My bill was just under $16, but would've been lower if I hadn't also gotten a fountain drink. I got the cranberry & Brie turkey sandwich with the side salad. It was absolutely delicious! The focaccia bread they serve their sandwiches on is perfect. I also got a shirly temple for my drink and their pure cane sugar fountain drinks are amazing. It was nice to have a delicious soda that didn't have caffeine or taste super chemically. They also have regular Coca Cola for anyone who prefers that. The service was also wonderful. The person that took my order was very patient and helpful, and greeted me with a smile. There was also someone walking the restaurant who brought me my food, checked in on me, and was just generally very friendly and aware of all the guests around and their needs. When the line became long while I was eating, this person kept checking on the people in line and thanking them for waiting. I ate indoors because the outdoor seating was full, but I would love to eat outside sometime. It is a beautiful area, and convenient that it is so close to Target! Urbane Cafe catered a reception I attended after a funeral for a friend. I chose the Turkey, Cranberry & Brie sandwich. The sandwiches were nicely presented in boxes alongside a tossed salad with a choice of dressings. For dessert several varieties of soft, chewy cookies. The main reason I come to Urbane Cafe was for this UC Banh Mi Chicken Sandwich. This is probably my favorite menu item they've ever come out with and whenever I am in the mood for a healthy sandwich this is my go to. I always ask for extra pickled carrots and they never cheap out on loading it up. Very reasonably priced considering alternative food options in this location. Went on a hiatus for a few years and stopped eating here given changing work locations. Recently went back after a target trip and I've gone three times this month already. I always order an extra bread to go and they have great half lunch options if you want to try the soups. My favorite soup is the tomato soup and they have a great PB&J sandwich. All food is prepared fresh and if you're not in the mood for a sandwhich try the fresh salads or a Mediterranean bowl. Service is great everyone is so friendly and nice. If you sign up for rewards you might snag yourself a free cookie or drink the next time you're in. Dragon fruit drink they gave me was great. They also came out with a Tofu version of this sandwhich which I would highly recommend if you're vegan. They also have a portobello mushroom sandwhich which is very good. Urban Cafe is one of my favorite Go-Tos for lunch. Delicious and fresh every time. Although I have had hit or miss service at this location, today was top notch and definitely worthy of 5 stars. I arrived a little early for lunch than I typically do, which was lovely as it wasn't as crowded as usual. Clean and inviting was my first thought as the new cashier greeted me with a big smile and even asked how i doing! It's sad to say, but it's rare nowadays that someone ask "how are you?" She did let me know she was new as I had some customizations to make to my meal. Nonetheless, she was efficient and made sure to get my order correct. Food came out fast, and I was so happy with the portions. Their portion sizes have lacked over recent years, but today was great and well worth the cost. I add tomatoes and cucumber to my side salad for no additional cost, which adds more value to the meal. This location provides indoor and outdoor seating.. inside can get pretty loud when it's full. I walked in with an upset stomach, needing comforting food and hospitality. I got just that. I made many modifications to the salad and Jorge and Felix were so helpful with that. Jorge took my order and accepted my complex modifications with grace and an attitude of respect for me as a customer. I often feel like I'm annoying when I modify orders to meet my dietary needs. I never felt like that for even a moment at this location. Felix made sure the staff worked in a timely manner and were friendly to me. Felix was friendly as well. I seen this Urbane Cafe for a while since I usually go to The Habit next door but I wanted to try something different. So I put in my order online for the Club Sandwich. When I got to the place, there was plenty of parking during lunch time especially now that they allow outdoor dining. I was able to walk in and my order was already at the take out rack. A employee acknowledge me when I walked in and just handed me my order. I enjoyed my sandwich, I had some ranch dressing in the office so I added that to my sandwich to add some extra flavor.
