I'm quite surprised at how good this place taste. It's a corner bakery/panera, but the sandwich might actually taste better. They use flat bread, so it's kind of "healthier". I went with the cobb salad, they used spring mix instead of iceberg lettuce. It has a nice mix of variety of things. The thing to note is the chicken is VERY moist! Surprisingly. This is long over due. Urbane cafe has always been super good regardless of the location. However this location is always in my opinion super organized. I work across the street at St. John's I phone my order in as I'm walking out and it's ready by the time I drive across the street. The managers and staff are always super nice. I came in three years ago to buy a Sandwich and the owner was here trying out a new holiday sandwich. Turkey Brie something like. He wanted my opinion and here is is three years later. The sandwich was really good but all there food is good. Their drink selection is always great too with grey choice of sodas and lemonades. My all time favorite is the Santa Maria sandwich and my new favorite is the ojai harvest salad. They of course like any other place have gotten orders wrong or made a mistakes. I've been eating at Urbane for a small while. It's great, but a little expensive. The flavors are really thought through and tasty. Small complaints: the chicken can be a tad on the dry side. And the salad SUCKS! Too bitter and not crisp! Also, I want more original choices for drinks than lame fountain drinks, as to compliment their original tastes. I was really hesitant to go to this restaurant because the location is in one of the busiest intersections in Oxnard, and it looks like a chain, and just the fact that is next to Walt Mart (makes it feel less urban) But anyways, Since I work a block away and I was craving a sandwhich, I gave up and went to try this restaurant. for $7 tax included, I got a pastrami sandwhich and a small salad. Food here is always great though the service is terrible and the workers don't do their jobs. I've ordered for curbside pickup several times and every time I do no order is ever brought out to me. I call and never get an answer, I click the "I'm here" button in their emails and nothing. I have thought well maybe my order just isn't ready yet but I have waited well over 15 minutes after my order was estimated to be ready. I always have to end up getting down myself to get my order. I have went in and let them know I had an order for curbside and they only ever point to their pick up rack and tell me to get it. They shouldn't give the curbside pickup option if they are not going to actually do the service. read more

It comes with a side of salad and the house vinaigrette the sandwich itself has artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, avocado and other goodness. Also the focaccia bread for the sandwiches is really soft and tasty. Salad that comes with it had too many fancy greens for me. Luckily they swapped it out for romaine which I appreciated. I love Urban Cafe sandwiches and cookies. I either choose the Pesto Chicken or Santa Barbara BBQ Chicken sandwich. The bread makes the sandwich, delicious focaccia. I should eat the salad, but I trade it for chips. I usually save my chips for another day since I always pick up a chocolate-chocolate cookie. Its warm and freshly baked. Today I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich which has chicken, black bean and corn salsa, avocado, pepper jack, and chipotle aioli. I thought it was just Eh. Got a side salad served with it. I'll definitely be going back to my salad of choice next time, but I'm glad I branched out! My boyfriend got the pesto and sundried tomato sandwich, I tried a bite and it was yummy! Way better than my sandwich. The pesto flavor was awesome. I placed my order through GrubHub. I placed exactly what I wanted and when I received my food I didn't get what I ordered. I called them I got yelled at by Noemi. She told me it was my fault so I said OK my bad. I hung up and looked at my receipt and realized she was wrong. She didn't even call me back to let me know she was wrong but when I called back she let me know she was wrong and she told me the only thing she could do was give me a free bag. I'm allergic to vinegar and tried to explain it to her but she told me it wasn't her problem. I also tried to speak to the manager Chris who also didn't seem to care. Awful customer service. read more
