I love urbane Cafe. I frequently travel about 15 mi to visit the one in Temecula. I also love the one in Encinitas. But this one not so much. I just got The Cafe, one of their salads. At those other two locations I have never gotten food that was not top-notch. But this salad included several slices of avocado that had to be cut with a knife. They were almost as hard as an apple. And the two tiny slices of pears were from a can. I have never got any canned food from this business before. So I really don't recommend this location. Go to another one. read more

I was happy to learn that a new urbane cafe was opening in Oceanside as I go to the one in Encinitas sometimes. I received an opening promotion so i decided to grab an early dinner. When I walked in I was greeted immediately and was asked if I had been to an urbane cafe before and I have. To get the promotion, I had to order through the app but it wasn't letting me. The girl taking my order was super helpful and was patient until I got it to work. As I waited they were passing out samples of their chocolate chip cookies, all of their cookies are so good but lemon is my favorite. Everyone was enjoying their food and the sample cookies. I just got a keto Cobb. I love a good Cobb salad and this was no exception. They include warm focaccia bread and I love that the dressing comes on the side so the salad isn't soggy. I was passing by the area and realized that Oceanside now has a new café open. Urbane Café is now opened (as of December 2023) and they have replaced Starbucks on Vista Way & Jefferson Ave (near the 78). Urbane Café is a fast-food establishment with healthier options. They can be found in many other cities and they are known for their sandwiches, soups, salads and food bowls. At this location, Urbane Café has a little outside patio seating, a few tables for inside seating and they seem to specialize in food orders TO-GO. They can online orders as well and their PICK-UP service allows for customers to simply walk-in, pick-up their food and leave, all without having to engage with anyone. The interior is small & quite cramped for crowds, but is great for a few people seating. Their decor is modern & simple and their wall menu has detailed photos to help you choose your meal. Their customer service is impeccable and everyone was greeted at the door and they were patient with my inquiries. A++ Urbane Café also was having a "Teachers Appreciation" Special for a FREE MEAL and I like that they even have a promotion like this. Once ordered, my food came to me in under 12 minutes and I like that they have a drink fountain with a nice variety of flavors, including "Shirley Temple" I ordered an Ahi Salad with the Japanese dressing and it was amazing! It was fresh, tasty and the portion was gigantic for me. It was under $14 too. I also got a sample of the Baja Enchilada soup and it was delicious; as was their cookies. I also love that their menu was easily suited for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans and there was even a gluten-free option for dietary restrictions. The ONLY *ding* I could give them is that they are a "café" and don't have coffee on their menu They currently open at 10:00AM, but I can see them doing okay if they opened earlier. Off the 78 freeway (Jefferson) in the same plaza as McDonalds and Chevron. They took over the old Starbucks on the corner facing the gas station. SERVICE. The menu is on the left right when you walk in (on the giant wall). If there are a lot of people looking, it creates a bit of a bottleneck right at the entrance. Grab the takeout menu outside before going in. Seating is limited inside, but there's plenty of seating outside. FOOD. Salmon bowl ($13.50). This bowl is my new fave. It's a good balanced portion Comes with complimentary (gluten-free) focaccia bread, it's so good! If you download their app and sign up - you get rewards! I just got my free drink and cookie after my first visit (spent $30). The craft soda is DELICIOUS and the cookie was perfect (served warm). FOOD. * Salmon bowl ($13.50). This is my fave. I've been going to this location since it opened and several others for some years now! Great fresh food. This location has gotten very busy at least during lunch time. Food, service remains very good! Although if you're eating in you will wait for your order at least during lunch time! They get a large amount of take out! We have been to other locations of Urbane Cafe so we're excited to see one was going to be local for a healthyish option. We arrived on a Friday around 4pm. Since we were going to have lots of snacks at the movie later we opted to split the Cranberry Brie Turkey sandwich. Service was friendly and I thought the pricing fair. Suggested gratuities were 5, 10, and 15 percent which was very fair for an order at the counter and food delivered model. While we waited for our meal, they brought us warm baby sample cookies that were delicious. The food arrived and the sandwich was served with a generous portion of side salad. Splitting provided a light meal or heavy snack. The taste of the sandwich was phenomenal and the bread was really fresh. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back as there are lots more I want to try (although it will be hard to resist reordering the cranberry brie again). read more

I have dined here a couple of times now, and I have to say, the service is really lovely. The manager is amazing. I also met a manager in training today named Lisa and she was just over-the-top kind. She gave me some sweet potatoes for my baby to eat. We talked throughout the meal about different things too! The food here is always delicious. My go to is a café salad which is amazing. A great fresh and healthy option for this area and shopping plaza. Brand new so of course it looks nice and clean! The seating inside is very cramped but they have a good amount of seating outside/weather permitting. I ordered the Salmon Salad which was a great size and very fresh. The fresh drinks are refreshing. When you sign up for their Loyalty Program and I think you can get a free cookie which is nice. We are down in Oceanside due to the Altadena Fire evacuation. We stopped here for lunch. The food was very tasty and at a great price. I had the ahi tuna salad. It had tuna, avocado, radishes, tomatoes, cheese. It comes with a slice of bread which was warm. My wife had the salmon salad with a soup. Hers was good as well. The soup was very tasty. It was the Baja enchilada. There are several in different cities. One in Pasadena. I ordered lunch via pick up for my husband and myself: a Chimichurri Steak Sandwich with a cup of tomato bisque, a salmon bowl, a cup of Baja Enchilada, and fire-baked focaccia bread.
